Cuernavaca has arguably the best climate in the world, 75 degrees mean temperature (22 C.) At 5400 feet altitudes, there is no need for heat nor air-conditioning. It has escaped the violence of other parts of the country. Violence involves competition among rival drug lords. Tourists are not the targets nor the victims and the city is far safer for tourists than most US cities of its size. The villa is on a gated street inside a walled compound. There has not been a single break-in on the street in over 25 years. There is safe on-street parking but taxis are so inexpensive that a car is not needed. Average taxi ride across town is 50 pesos. There are direct buses to and from the Mexico City airport every 40 minutes and buses to the capital every 15 minutes. It is 30 minutes from the largest flower garden in the world and three hours to Acapulco.
