Large enclosed lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and BBQ. Bike store. On road parking. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Kielder Kip Cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Kielder village, only a short walk from the nearby post office, children’s play park and pub. This warm and comfortable cottage is a great retreat to return to after a day out walking, or adventure seeking. The kitchen leads to a small conservatory (not in use between October and March) overlooking a delightful garden, where it is pleasant to watch the birds and butterflies and relax in this peaceful and tranquil setting. With quality bed linen and towels, a fabulous freestanding bath and shower cubicle and a well-equipped kitchen, this cottage has all the facilities of a home from home staycation. Outdoor enthusiasts will love this cosy cottage, with water sports, mountain biking, walking, cycling and fishing, and star gazing at the dark starry skies. There is even a shed for bike storage with a bike stand and anchorage suitable for four bikes
Kielder itself is part of the Northumberland National Park with miles of forests the park is the largest Dark Sky Park in Europe, perfect for astronomers and photographers at any level. This area is a star gazers paradise with loungers in the garden to observe these fantastic night skies. The nearby observatory (booking is a must), is only 5 mins away, and is a great experience for all ages.
The waterparks around Kielder Water offer a hop on/off ferry, Bird of Prey Centre, cafés, pub, picnic areas and water sports of all types. The whole area is just perfect for mountain biking, cycling, walking and fishing. Day trips from Kielder Kip Cottage make a nice change, and Alnwick Castle, 50 miles, is famed for its scenes in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.
The very historic Hadrian’s Wall is a step back to the Roman times and plenty of museums and history await. The small town of Bellingham is 18 miles away, and has several shops, pubs and cafés. Kielder Winter Wonderland is a popular event every December for all ages. Kielder Kip Cottage would be a great base, with its cosy wood burner to welcome you back on the winter evenings and its fabulous free standing bath for a luxurious and relaxing soak after your chosen exercise. Shop 18 miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
From December to March each year the conservatory will not be available.
