Chaido apartment - Lisbon
We very much enjoyed out stay at this apartment. The location was perfect for us. We were 4 adults, myself and my 3 adult children, all able to walk the hills in Lisbon. The apartment was being cleaned on our early arrival and we were gratuitously allowed to leave our bags inside until our 1500hr check in time. Luis had been in contact prior to our arrival so we had contact numbers which is very reassuring when you are using VRBO and there is no "in person" meeting on arrival. We just called Luis and he gave us the required info for check in. Be aware that the apartment is 3 floors up, 70 steps, no elevator but again as we are reasonably fit, it was not an issue. The true measure of a review is "would you stay there again" and our answer based on our experience is YES, we would!

Perfect location to explore Lisbon
This property has a perfect location in Chiado and is a short walk to everything you want to see in Lisbon. Safe location and there are nice restaurants and bars steps from the front door. Check in was easy. Host friendly, met us at check in. Apartment is nice but if you are looking for a soft bed this is not the place for you. Master bed quite firm. Second bathroom has an occasional smell that probably can’t be controlled. Overall a very nice stay!

The check-in process was just fine. The property was as described. It was comfortable, just a bit dated. Getting the luggage up the stairs was a haul, but luckily it was only once. We certainly got our steps in! The only things I would say are there aren't too many dishes, but we really didn't cook, you had to be aware of the sloping ceilings and there are boards loose on the deck. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay and a good location.

Space was nice: 1 large primary bedroom, 1 medium with a double (but slanted roofs so duck) and 1 with a day bed. Nice terrace and kitchen. But…I have to be honest for others, it really smelled like sewer. They have a LOT of air fresheners everywhere but that didn’t really help a lot.

Perfect location!
Everything was perfect. Luis was responsive and the apartment was ideal. Located in a busy neighborhood but still super quiet. New appliances and an adorable balcony for breakfast or late night drinks. Visit Taberna da Rua das Flores just up the hill for fantastic food. There were a lot of stairs but it was perfect after a nice email. We will be back for sure!

Great location! Some drawbacks..
Location was amazing! Being 6 flights upstairs no elevator, not so great. Beds could use a topper, all were very firm with nothing between you and the springs. Couch was the best place to sleep. Cute place.

Fantastic location
The apartment was spacious and well equipped, and check in was easy. We really enjoyed the location- close to lots of nightlife, Time Out Market yet walkable to the main tourist sites. The only negative was the smell of drains from the main bathroom, which could be quite overpowering at times. We tended to just keep the door shut and use the en suite instead.

Perfect location/HORRIBLE HOST
I stayed here for 4 days with 2 other women recently and while we loved the location, the unit and the view, Luis couldn’t have been a more unprofessional host. First, he was late for our early morning arrival even though I had communicated and confirmed with him via WhatsApp our flight information and timing. Additionally, we purposely paid for the night before to avoid any hassle in the morning. Second, within hours of us being there (ladies resting after a long flight) a man walked into the unit with his own set of keys. We have no communication of this from Luis. When we told him how UNSAFE this was he laughed at me and told me to “calm down this isn’t some third world country”. Mind you, my family immigrated from an actual third world country. No one should enter without permission of the guests as one Vrbo support person explained to me. Third, at night there is a sewage smell we were concerned the first night but he explained that it was normal and we didn’t really care much it was manageable. We are well traveled and understanding people. Fourth, he had said we could leave our luggage until 2pm and he wouldn’t charge us. He never confirmed this via text so we left at 12. He finally responded to me when I was on the plane home which was almost 2 full days of no communication from him. He is now charging me for early check in (despite us paying for a whole extra night) and a late check out (despite us leaving at 12). Unprofessional!!!

Great place, could use better cleaning
The layout and location of the property was perfect. However, there were some concerns with how the apartment was cleaned between guests. The hall bathroom had a very smelly toilet brush, hair in the shower, and a missing door knob. Be warned the apartment is up 6 flights of stairs, so pack light. Overall, a great property with a few issues.

Luís was a tremendous host who went out of his way to make sure we would be comfortable in his former home. The unit itself is plenty roomy and kitchen decent for city center standards. The location is 10 of 10. So easy to get around. Highly recommend

Great Location in Chiado
Easy to find, right next Ambulance Station! Cool, historic building, lots of steps to the flat at 3.5 floors up. Enjoyed the spacious flat, and hanging out on the deck/terrace! Great location, close to Trolley, or Metro line, or if you’re felling ambitious walking. Enjoyed the close squares with lots of food options. Taverna just up the street was a splendid meal. Parking in the garage was easy, as you don’t want to drive in Lisboa! Luis was a great host and good communication

Fabulous apartment in a great location
This apartment is very spacious and has a very nice balcony which is actually a bit wider and bigger than the pictures suggest. With a clothes washing machine and several drying racks we were able to do laundry before the next part of our trip. (No dryer) Luis is very helpful and was on site to greet us when we arrived. The master bedroom is huge with an ensuite bathroom and plenty of drawers and hangers. The other two bedrooms don’t have closets or drawers but this was not an issue for us at all. The location is outstanding. Close to all amenities in the tourist area but be forewarned, anywhere you go in Lisbon requires comfy shoes for the very steep hills constantly up and down all day long. The apartment is located on a steep hill (as are all buildings in Lisbon) right beside the fire brigade and across from a couple of hotels. A wide variety of food options within a 15 minute walk from the apartment. The kitchen is well stocked with glasses, dishes and pots. We didn’t use the stove or microwave but did use the dishwasher which was quick and quiet. We highly recommend this apartment to couples or families- it was clean and right where you want to be. It is on the 4th floor and no elevator so a bunch of stairs in and out every trip. Be courteous to the neighbours who live there full time and don’t wear your shoes in the apartment, walking around with shoes on apparently makes it very loud for the guy living directly below. Don’t hesitate to book this property

This is a very bright well laid out unit. It is located within walking distance of many points of interest and is close to public transit. There are stairs to climb. I highly recommend it.

Nice apartment with great location
The apartment is very nice and clean. The location is close to the city center, however the apartment was still quiet and peacefull. There was enough room for all of us and the terrace was a big plus.
