About this property

Bwaane Jiass - a holiday cottage that sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

Bwaane Jiass is the smallest of one of three self catering holiday cottages located together in a quiet, peaceful location at the end of a private driveway in the beautiful countryside near Kirk Michael in the Isle of Man. They offer the perfect retreat and yet are only half a mile from the main road with easy access to the village of Kirk Michael, and the larger towns of Peel and Ramsey.

Ideal for couples or single travellers and as with each of the holiday cottages, guest comfort is a priority with great quality beds, linens and towels provided. The first floor bathroom has a bath tub with shower.

On the ground floor there is a cosy sitting room and comfortable sofas where you can relax and read a book or watch TV. There is a separate open plan kitchen which has been newly installed in 2022. Separate dining table for 2 guests is provided in the lounge area. The gardens to the rear of the property are for the sole use of guests and there is parking on the private driveway.

These Isle of Man holiday cottages are the perfect base for walking, cycling or just exploring the beautiful countryside nearby, with stunning coastal walks and pretty glens on the doorstep. The nearest villages are Kirk Michael and Ballaugh both of which offer traditional shops, pubs and other amenities. Travel a little further to Peel or Ramsey for larger supermarkets, restaurants and local independent shops.

This cottage is pet friendly with one well behaved dog accepted.

Great holiday cottage

I've stayed at this cottage several times. The location is great for walks along the beach and into the hills.

First time in Isle of Man

First time in the IoM so we didn’t know what to expect. We enjoyed our stay it’s a pity the weather wasn’t kinder. The cottage was a bit cold suggest the heating clock is activated. There was only one small cereal bowl and one of the cup had been broken by a previous occupier and had not been replaced.

Pretty cottage

A pretty cottage, ideal for 2 and well placed to see the island. Some additional blankets would have been nice plus it did smell of fish when we arrived although all the windows had been open.

Relaxing getaway

Nice cottage in quiet location, everything you need to unwind, house keeping could have been bit better( cobwebs and dust and knife in cutlery draw covered in spread)

Lovely cottage

Great cottage, lovely quiet location. Somewhat short of sun due to surrounding trees, probably better in June/July. Well placed for exploring the island.
Stayed 8 nights in Sep 2022

Summer holiday

Had a lovely week's holiday in the Isle of Man. Loads to do and places to visit. Plenty of walking both on the beaches and in the Glens. Tynwald Day at St John's excellent fun and knowledgeable. Ice cream yummy. Peel beautiful and peaceful. Would fully recommend. Accommodation really comfortable and clean, thanks

A very enjoyable short break

We greatly enjoyed our short stay on the IOM staying at Bwaane Jiass. We may well stay on the IOM again but probably at somewhere different on the island.

A beautiful cosy hideaway in the woods

Great location an easy walk down to the beach, a short drive into Peel. Very comfortable cottage, beautiful garden to sit and listen to the birds.

Disappointed

After Bwaane Twoaie, Jiass was a huge disappointment. It was second-class quality. It smelled stale and damp and required a coat of paint everywhere. Surely because we downsized did not mean that we should expect poorer treatment? No washing machine in the property, the washer/dryer available in the outhouse absolutely stank. It did not spin as part of either the wash or wash-dry programmes we used. We found out later that if we washed first (which left them wringing wet after the cycle had finished) then ran a spin cycle , then a dry cycle, it worked - in the end - but it was time consuming and the washing came out smelly, so we abandoned using it. There is no storage for provisions in the kitchen, and only the bare minimum of cutlery provided (again no can opener). A personal point : as a disabled person the strange idea of the bannister ending threequarters of the way up caused problems. No toilet-roll holder, nor somewhere to hang a hand towel. I'm sorry, but I think you need to know the reality of our disappointment in the lack of customary comforts.
