View the straits from the hottub!

The house is very comfortable, with a full kitchen, relaxing sitting area, terrific view and a hot tub on the deck. It is close to town, and the many water and hiking activities.

great view and cozy living space.

The view is the center piece of the stay and is quite exceptional. The kitchen and living area flows good and is very cozy. The built in gas fire place is a really nice feature in the living room. Couch is super comfy and big enough for four people. Both rooms are comfortable and warm. There is a great selection of games for all ages. The few things to keep in mind about the properties amenities. No fan in bathroom, shower is very slippery even if you use the anti slip matt under sink so be careful, the hottub on deck is newer and great jets but deck had a cat pee odor and needed washing. Make sure you bring any and all spices with you, none included. Got a good chuckle when I went to clean the bbq for dinner and the bristle brush included had no bristles left. Overall its a very nice stay, warm and cozy, just needs some minor attention to detail and some maintenance.

Loved this cute place with a big deck and hot tub, well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. We walked into town on Saturday for the arts market and scones. Easy access to the ferry. Can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful time on the sunshine coast

The property as well as the location are really enjoyable. Chris and Carolyn are great hosts. Unfortunately the hot tub was underperforming when we were there, but all other factors were well in line with our expectations. Thanks Guys. You have a peaceful location on the coast.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property. It was super clean, great location and spectacular view. We had an amazing Christmas break here and caught some sunsets while relaxing in the jacuzzi. Chris was a fantastic host and the communication was great. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful view as soon as you walk in the door. Everything you need for a weekend. Hot tub was nice. Close to shops and restaurants. Good location. Very busy road. Driveway is a little tight. A little on the pricy side of things. I booked on VRBO.CA and I was charged in foreign currency. Not sure why that is.

lovely stay, but parking area could be clearer

Stayed here with my teenage daughter for a short getaway. Beautiful view, great kitchen and the starry skies from the hot tub were memorable. The parking situation could be better indicated onsite. We weren’t sure where the driveway was and unfortunately needed some help from BCAA to get out of the unused boat launch drive right next to the property.

Amazing property with spectacular views

The property was beautiful and well maintained with the most spectacular sea views from the balcony or the lower deck. Communication was great and we always got really speedy replies. Just a few minutes drive to everything Sechelt has to offer. The bed in the main bedroom was incredibly comfy. We didn't try the other one as our daughter slept in a travel cot in that room. The house is just off the main highway which can get busy at certain times of day but you don't notice this from the beach side of the house.

Hearts are breaking to have to leave…

Cannot recommend enough!! Stunning views - gorgeous sunsets!! Stars at night!! Cozy fireplace!! Hot tub Time Machine!! 😜 The hosts were amazing and incredibly accommodating. Close to amenities - dining - groceries - wine - etc. Sechelt was close with beautiful seaside strolls and cute little shops. Lovely beach access - sea lions, cranes and all manner of flora and fauna!! Incredible experience that we’ll cherish forever!

Wonderful week with the family!

This home had everything we could want for a relaxing trip to the Sunshine Coast. The kitchen and living area had all we needed and the view was outstanding. The lower deck and hot tub were wonderful in the evenings and we made great use of the kayak and paddleboard in the afternoons. Between the water sports and opportunities to relax, everyone (our 10 year old daughter, my mother, my husband and I) had a great time. It is also very central and a quick drive to either Sechelt or Gibsons and we enjoyed trying out many of the local restaurants. Thanks for a wonderful week!

Lovely pre-Christmas holiday weekend!

Everything was as described, and perfect for two couples! Feel very lucky to have found this wonderful accommodation, it was exactly what we were hoping for. The uncluttered nature of the rooms belies the fact that every small detail for comfort is provided. Condiments, body and dish soaps, a lending library, games, even a good playable guitar and binoculars are among many numerous small comforts. Most importantly, do you love to be right on the ocean, or watch wildlife and water? The view and location can’t be beat. The hot tub was a big bonus, and the hosts even arranged for wonderful sunny days and spectacular sunsets every night! 😉 (ok, maybe that was just serendipitous!) Thank you, Chris and Carolyn, for sharing your lovely home. We look forward to returning one day! Robin and Enn Bellevue Valley Lodge, Goulais River ON

Happy to recommend Westview Home

Don't stay here if you need to work from home.....the view, the hot tub and the proximity to water sports, hiking and good food are too much of a distraction. Fortunately, we came to relax, hike and paddle. The house was clean, the kitchen well furnished with appliances, a book of well written instructions is available. We were especially impressed by the communication with Chris, the owner, always responsive. As other renters have mentioned the access to the property is off a main arterial and a bit tight turning into the driveway but there is a fish mobile hanging along the fence to identify the driveway. And there is plenty of room to turnaround in the driveway so you are not backing out into traffic. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships passing by Vancouver Island, even saw Orcas in Davis Bay. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Sunsets like the Caribbean!

As soon as you step into the house, you're greeted by a tranquil expanse of water, sunsets, equal many I've experienced in the tropics. I spent a lot of time training my camera on the horizon and shooting multiple time lapse shots. On my arrival in chilly December, I instinctively turned on the fireplace, mesmerized by the serene view outside. The hot tub, exceptionally clean and spacious enough for six, was a luxurious retreat I enjoyed solo. The kitchen, well-equipped and boasting ample counter space, inspired my culinary creativity. Located near Selma Park, the house offers the convenience of proximity to town for easy shopping. It features two peaceful bedrooms; despite the road's proximity at the property's top, nights are surprisingly quiet. Parking is a breeze, located right at the entrance, making unloading effortless. After a rejuvenating 4 and a half days, I'm already planning my return, having found the perfect spot for a much-needed recharge.

Spectacular View

The cottage is exactly as picture, with an even more spectacular view, that is ever changing. Views of Vancouver Island, eagles, seals, tug boats and barges were all a sight to see. Was easy to find the place, right off the main hwy. with a good sized parking area. Has a cute beachy cottage feel on the outside, but the inside is completely modern. When you open the front door, you are greeted immediately with a view that will take your breath away. Looking around, you will see at the front door a couple coat nooks with loads of hangers and hooks, a picnic basket and blanket. Bedrooms are separated by the entrance to provide privacy. Both large enough, with the master having enough room to accommodate a playpen(if you had a young child). The second bedroom with a book shelf had many choices. Beds were very comfortable to sleep on, with soft and firmer pillows provided. The bathroom had body wash, shampoo and conditioner conveniently located in the shower, also a hairdryer. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook a meal. Lots of utensils, knives, even a garlic press, cooking oil, vinegar and balsamic vinegar, ice packs and ice trays in the freezer, a picnic cooler, coffee grinder, paper towels, napkins, both glass and plastic wine glasses for that trip to the hot tub with a nice glass of wine. The sofa was comfortable with throw blankets and a cozy fireplace for that chilly evening in Spring, Fall or Winter. The weather was nice enough, that we were able to sit on the deck and enjoy the view and take a walk on the rocky beach, which would be fun for kids to look under rocks and play safely on shore when the tide is out. This was a girls weekend away for us, but we both agreed that coming with your significant other, two separate couples or a family of 4 would be completely doable, without feeling like you are on top of each other. There was plenty of space in the kitchen for two people and with all the seating areas in the house and the two decks, you would have plenty of space. We were their first guests and can't think of a thing that was missing or we would change. I don't usually book a place without reviews, but we are so glad we did. The owners were such a pleasure to deal with. Quick to respond to any questions, give ideas on things to see and do when we asked and were able to accommodate a special request. Thank you Carolyn, Chris and Kaiden for opening up your home to us.

Hey, it's Chris. So Carolyn and I grew up in Alberta but our paths never crossed until we were both fortunate enough to experience the Malibu Club community while working for Young Life through summers on the Sunshine Coast. Carolyn organized food and guided mountain trips for the Beyond Malibu hiking program and I ran the food services for the Malibu Club cranking out up to 1200 meals a day for the high school aged campers. We were both too busy to really take any time to connect romantically but finally seven years down the road, we both found ourselves back on the Sunshine Coast and sparks flew. ;)
Being Alberta transplants there was never really any doubt that BC would be our long term home. Who could really go back to winters at -25 degrees? Ummm, not us!
Once our time wrapped up at Malibu and we were happily married, we decided to make Sechelt the place to throw down roots. We bought our first house, had a beautiful baby boy (Kaiden) and got to work doing all those responsible grown up things that people tend to do.
All this time I would listen to Carolyn's "one day" dreams of being close to the water and enjoying time on the beach every day. "We're like a 5min walk from the water" I'd say, "What more do you want?" Well little did I truly realize that Carolyn is a woman of big dreams and even larger levels of drive.
Fast forward to 2016 and here we find ourselves in negotiations to purchase this waterfront property. Carolyn had viewed this house 5 years earlier and set her sights on making it happen. Well, through the modern miracle that is bank financing and the hard work of my lady we made the purchase official in Jan 2016 and moved in to our dream home. The place where we planned to grow old together... or so we thought.
