Snow for Christmas

Fairly easy to get to and loved that we had about 6-8 inches of snow on Christmas eve giving us a white Christmas. Megan answered each time I called and took care of every request. She was awesome helping us out! I would recommend this property to any couple.

True cabin in the woods!

Very nice place up the mountain. Not for peeps afraid of heights. Driveway is definitely a challenge. Very steep. You are around other homes but still secluded. Lots of rentals in this area. Hot tube was great. We sat in it for hours every evening. We saw up close a momma bear searching garbage cans along the road for food. Her 3 cubs were up a tree near by. Would stay here again

Cabin needs updated

The location is really close to town. The cabin was clean and the check in process was easy. Just be prepared for an extremely steep driveway. The cabin could definitely use some updates. The wall paper is peeling off of the walls in both of the bathrooms, the couch is very uncomfortable. It is broken on one end. And is barely up off of the floor. The bed was not very comfortable. I would definitely bring your own pillows. This cabin is nice if you don’t plan on spending a lot of time relaxing in there.

Nothing like described

The pictures/listing state there is a view. The only view is trees & neighboring cabins. Never received code for check-in. Had to call then try multiple codes. Wallpaper is peeling in numerous places. There was a hole in the wall above the shower that was filled with drywall & left unfinished. Toilets would not flush. Outside area smells like sewer. Driveway is steep, as others have stated but the main issue is listing states there is parking for 2 but the space is barely big enough for 1 vehicle. Laminate flooring looks cheap & is coming up in several areas. Trim under shower/baseboards loose or rotten in several areas. All in all, was clean but could use attention to detail in corners, etc. We paid an outrageous amount for 1 night & have stayed at much better cabins for much less.

Could not get in

Code given to enter the property did not work. It was very dark when we got there and made difficult. Had to call someone to get a code. Had to try several different codes until she gave us one that worked. Should have been given the right code to begin with

The driveway was too steep for my car.

We arrived at the property and found that the house sat above a tight curve on Zurich drive. The drive was too steep for my car and there was a section of asphalt that looked like the root was pushing it up. I immediately texted the number I was given only to be told that the portal (after I paid) said the drive was steep and no manager was available to come to the property. I asked to be relocated as I could not access the property and I was refused. I called the number they gave me and I received the same response. No property manager could talk to me but they would not relocate me or offer any help at all because the paperwork said steep. I was never told I needed a 4 wheel drive. The description on VRBO does not list a drive problem at all. I never accessed the property. I had to pay for a hotel for the entire trip. I asked for the cleaning and propery damage money to be returned AS I HAD NEVER ENTERED THE PROPERTY. It was relayed to me by the person on the phone that the property manager said he wouldn't refund the CLEANING MONEY because the portal said steep. I have never felt so let down by a company. The person on the phone said call VRBO because they were the ones with the description that said nothing about 4 wheel drive or steep drive and they may be able to help. I could not find a number to call anyone. I used the assistant and every time I got to refund catagory it said the period for refund has passed and there was no other catagory.

Had some strong points but lots of room to improve. Would recommend with caution.

My husband and I travel a lot and have booked several houses as we do not like hotels. Of all the houses we have rented, this was our least favorite, however it could be improved easily. The driveway to get up to the house is very steep. We almost didn't make it in our truck. So you do park directly in front of the house but the severe driveway is not mentioned. Had we known, we would have driven a smaller car. Plus it's advertised as a two car driveway. Maybe two small cars but we barely had room to turn around in our truck. The 3 point turn was more like a 10 point turn! The hot tub is on the deck in front of the house. It's a good size for a couple, it held heat well and everything worked. We suggest adding a retractable awning. We went in the fall so we had a lot of stuff falling from the trees while we were there. Plus it would provide more privacy. There is a house to the right of the house and they have a lot of Windows and their own deck. It's possible that guests of the other house could see you in the hot tub. Other than that, the deck was a good size with a gas grill and small patio set. The layout of the house is actually really good. It's great for a couple on a get away. Even with a king sized bed, the bedroom is plenty spacious. The living room and kitchen are open as well. We did not use the game room upstairs but it was in good condition except for the dart board which was falling apart. What was disappointing and made this our least favorite house was the kitchen. The size was great but it was seriously lacking in supplies and functionality. The burners on the stove are not the originals and they do not fit. Everything cooked on the burners cooked at an angle as steep as the drive way. Cooking eggs was a nightmare and all the burners were at this 45 degree angle. The oven door is also broken. When we opened the oven, the door separated and the glass is dangerously close to falling out. It's a safety issue and a new stove needs to be purchased. We usually eat out once or twice, but we cook a lot. The supplies in the kitchen were almost non exisitant. $100-200 at Wal-Mart would go a long way to stocking this kitchen. The one spatula is cheap and falling apart. There are no serving utensils. Half the knives are missing. No storage containers, or basics like foil, cooking spray, salt and pepper. The kitchen needs to be stocked like at home. I expect to purchase some supplies but shouldn't need to buy cooking utensils and basics.

Romantic getaway…

We thoroughly enjoyed being at the cabin… the pool table, dart board and hot tub were perfect. Once we found some firewood, the fireplace did not disappoint! We enjoyed it with some wine from Sugarland Winery! It was easy to get to the park and downtown areas of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Beautiful location

Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful cabin, nice location. The only downfall was the steepness in the driveway very hard to maneuver. I'd have to say the one downside to this location. No a cabin of choice if you had young children and/ or a vehicle that was not a 4 wheel drive or are afraid of how steep the incline of the driveway is. Driving up the steep driveway and having to maneuver your vehicle is hard, but even worse was maneuvering your decent down. Takes two people, one in the vehicle and one directing from the outside.

Driveway is horrible. Can't turn in with left turn have to up several houses past to turn around and come back to go up driveway. Turn around area by house at top of driveway takes a bit of maneuvers. We have rented nicer cabins for less in the mountains. We would not rent this place again.

Hot Tub does not work

After saving for a couple of years to celebrate our 40 yr anniversary we chose this cabin because it had a hot tub overlooking the mountain. That was the selling point for this unit. I called the day after check-in and told them the hot tub cover was destroyed and the hot tub would not heat up. After going back and forth daily and them sending maintenance out, we completed our (5 days) stay needless to say, with no hot tub at all. After returning home they sent me an email stating the heating element went out. They said they would refund $95.84 which is low compared to the cost along with all the fees I paid for a specified service that was listed. I am very disappointed with this unit as they did not supply what was advertised and could not correct it during a (5 day) stay. I think they need to check the amenities out before the guest arrives. This was ridiculous.

So So

Location and Cleanliness were the positives. Upon arrival we could not even gain access to the cabin with the code provided, and yes it was after 4 o clock. We had to contact an agent and it took several attempts to get a correct code. For the price the property needs a major update. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the washer and dryer were at least 20 years old and the stove was at least 15. The deck furniture was very low quality and the Hot Tub cover was ripped. The TV service was horrible with most channels like ESPN, TBS, and Fox Sports not part of the package. We watched TV on my IPAD with a You Tube subscription. Understand that you are simply paying for location with this rental. We have stayed in several other cabins in this price range and we're disappointed in this rental.

Nice Mountain House

Overall, a nice house in the mountains, and still close to Gatlinburg and the national park. Hot tub was nice. Most all accommodations were as advertised. Driveway is very steep, as mentioned in other comments. Was given the incorrect access code to enter, but called customer service and got the correct code within 15 minutes. Not much of a view from the deck during summer. Hot tub and deck aren't completely private - deck from a neighboring house can see through the trees. Cable and satellite tv access was fairly limited. I'd stay here again when visiting Gatlinburg.

Dissappointing

Overall property ambiance is fair. Great location. There were numerous comments in other reviews about the driveway being steep, well the driveway is steep!!!! Was raining one evening when we returned home and tires on Expedition spun out a couple of times going up and I am driving a one month old 2020 Expedition. After a 10 hour road trip, the 4 digit code for the door lock did not work. I had shoddy cell reception so it took us about 10-15 minutes to get through, only to be told that the code that was supposed to be the last 4 numbers of reservation is not used and they do not know why they put that in the email. Cleanliness of unit was fair overall but these things really but a bad vibe on the overall cleanliness: outdoor railings around hot tub was extremely dusty and dirty, looked as if nobody had clean in some time. When moving the night stand out a little to plug in phone charger we found an empty dry pudding cup and a empty bottle water behind one night stand and a used band-aid and a dryed dead worm behind the other. The shower curtain had a rip in the middle of it which caused water to leak onto the floor. This may be why the floor molding on both sides of shower was moldy. Washed clothes on 3rd night there only to find out that the dryer was broken when we went to use it. Pretty much had to use damp towels to dry with. And drove back home with damp clean clothes.
