About this property

Missoula Deer Creek Cabin Retreat, HOT TUB, HIKING, BIKING, FISHING, FLOATING

Make your vacation AMAZING by staying at the Deer Creek Cabin.

The house itself has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and a full sized futon. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized bed. We are renting this out to accommodate 4 adults comfortable, with or without kiddos, or 6 adults (4 whom don't mind sharing the master bedroom - it is huge and there is more than enough room)

Nestled in a valley almost to itself, this house sits on 4 acres. Open the window to your large master bedroom and listen to the creek below as you sleep. BBQ on the back deck while gazing at the trees, mountains and sky, while the birds sing (including wild turkeys) and see the occasional deer/moose/elk pass through the meadow below. When you stay at Deer Creek Cabin, you forget where you are. This is a place to go when you are looking for a little tranquil solitude, but still be close to amenities.

There is a hot tub on site, in the perfect setting to star gaze!

Deer Creek Cabin is 20 minutes from the heart of downtown Missoula and only minutes away from hiking/biking/cross country ski trails.

Far enough away, that it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to wake up in the morning and hit the road in any direction for adventure.

We are three hours from Glacier National Park, two hours from natural hot springs, 20 minutes from the center of town. We are also within 2 hours of 5 different ski hills and within an hour of dozens of lakes!!!!!

Great location for a week getaway, so much to do near here. Missoula is a hub for the outdoors, music, & breweries.

Every day should be an adventure!

We would be more than happy to help plan your next Montana vacation! Hope to hear from you!

Very nice house in a great location. The beds were super comfortable.

This house is very nice and well stocked with everything you would need. We stayed for 5 days with 4 people and had our dogs with us and it was more than enough room for everyone. Set up 2 large kennels in the living room and they fit just fine with room to walk around. The house does not have air conditioning but none of us could even tell and it was some of the hottest days in August. Hot tub is nice, the back deck is nice, and the owners were very nice. They left out a kiddie pool with water for the dogs and some tubes to float the river with which was a lot of fun. We went to some concerts at the amphitheater and this was a great location to access it from. If you’re going to town and need a ride I would give yourself some extra time or call and schedule a taxi because we did find it took a little longer to get an Uber or taxi out to the house for a pick up. It usually cost around $35 each way. We would all definitely stay again.

Exceeded expectations.

This property exceeded our expectations. The photos are lovely, but the property and cabin are even nicer. We had complete privacy. We never saw or heard the maintenance man that lives in the basement. The cabin was immaculate, nicely decorated and well appointed with everything we needed. The hosts are responsive, and provided everything one might want, including lots of great information on things to do and ways to enjoy what nature has to offer in the area. We enjoyed grilling on the spacious deck, and looking up at the moon and stars from the hot tub, which was hot and ready to go when we got there. We did not have a pet with us, but appreciate that this property is pet friendly. We are animal lovers too, and it speaks volumes to us about the nature of someone else's heart that they open themselves up to accommodate other people's animals. We tend to not visit the same places twice, but if I should pass this way again, I would definitely want to stay here.

Big and comfy with beautiful views

We were in town for a concert at the Kettlehouse Amphitheater. Since the road loops around from Pattee Canyon to East Missoula, this cabin was about 15 min from Missoula, 20 min from the amphitheater in Bonner, and still hidden in the forest. The ideal get away that was close to everything without seeming so! Hot tubbing under the stars had us in awe each night and the king sized bed in the master bedroom was heavenly! To top it all off, we were able to get Lyft and Uber rides to and from the cabin. Leaving was hard!

Perfect weekend escape

This VRBO was a great place to stay for the weekend! We had six people fitting comfortably. It was not too far from downtown Missoula and the host is very communicative and accommodating!

Fantastic!

Our family of four absolutely loved our stay! The cabin had everything we needed and then some. We especially liked the big open "great room" where the comfortable sectional couch, tv and kitchen looked out directly to the forest. It's secluded location was quiet and peaceful, yet getting to town took only about 15 minutes. When we come back to Missoula...we're definitely going to see if the Deer Creek Cabin is available!

Excellent Accomodations

My friends and I stayed for a 4 day weekend trip. The entire area is quiet with plenty of wildlife to be seen just driving to and from the house. The deck off the back was perfect for morning coffee. The inside of the cabin is well furnished and very comfortable. 8 minute drive to the golf course or the shooting range. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful views and quiet location with surprises

Relaxing place, owners great to work with and would have been perfect, except for the dog smell in the house and the man living downstairs in the basement. Should have researched it more before booking.

Wonderful Home!!!

This home is on an extremely well maintained dirt road by a canyon about a 15 minute drive from town. Hiking trails are nearby and there is a swimming hole a few miles down the road. Beautiful views and a lovely home with a deck to relax on or have a meal. Well equipped kitchen area, beautiful living room with a big screen tv, and very comfortable bedrooms. This house is kept up and was a fantastic place to stay. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We would return here if we are back in the area again.

I'm a Missoula Native. I was raised in the house right next door to this one, which is why I have such a strong tie to the area. I just love the solitude of the woods, with the convenience of being in town in a matter of 15 minutes.

Why they chose this property

I decided to build on this property because I love the area. Part of my heart will always be here, for it's the same property I grew up on. It's a magical place.

What makes this property unique

I love that I can literally walk out my door and go on a hike, a mountain bike ride, or a run. In the winter we can cross country ski and sled. It's the best feeling to have the great outdoors right at your doorstep.
