Fun stay in Packwood

We enjoyed our stay at the Lyons Den. The communication was easy. The unit is convenient. We really enjoyed all the cooking utensils that were there. It made our meal prep seamless - like we were cooking at home because everything we needed was there!

Park Trip

This was a nice comfy place to stay close to Mt Rainier National Park. Plenty of space for my family of 5. Very quiet and relaxing area. Hot tub was enjoyable and we played board games from the collection at the house. Shower is a little slippery but beds were super comfy.

Location and hot tub

Great location for close to Packwood and Mount Rainier options! Great hot tub with extra towels included. Really more like 1.5 baths which worked out great for our group of 6 adults.

Quiet ski cabin

The cabin was clean, the hot tub was hot, and the drive to white pass was 30 minutes (hard to get closer without getting a condo across from the resort). Advice to the owner (and anyone wanting to stay there with small children): the stair railing needs more balusters. They were very far apart (an adult could fit between them). Overall it was a great little place. Easy to get in and out and had the essential amenities needed.

Amazing stay!

The house was very clean and has beautiful accommodations. We stayed as a family with young children and had a great time. There was a wide range of books and toys/games for the kids and we had a beautiful time in the backyard with the hot tub and the fire pit.

Great Ski Weekend

We had a great time at the property! The cabin is spacious and plenty of sleeping options. We went when it was very cold and the cabin had every blanket imaginable to keep you warm! Instruction binder was very helpful!

winter stay

The property was as described. there was a very windy rain storm the first night that took jute power out for over 24 hrs but its to be expected as we were not at a tropical beach.. we are at a cabin in the woods. Host promptly communicated and we made a fire to stay warm and enjoyed our time.

Not sure I would go there again

The location is great but the cabin needs a good cleaning. They were very responsive but never saw them respond with even a broom. We left it as good as it gets!

Ski vacation for family

Nice, small cabin in woods. Good location. The outdoor hot tub was very nice after a day of downhill. No closets or drawers so be ready to live out of your luggage. Kitchen had a real hodgepodge of pots and glassware.

Nice weekend getaway for 5 hiking chicks

We had a great time here. Very comfortable, nice back deck for outdoor dining, since we are all vaccinated, but following COVID protocols for gathering indoors (masking up there and in the car together). Ended up being grateful for a full kitchen, since our plan for getting Cruiser's pizza (as in the past) was derailed by 1/2 their staff being out with COVID- We opted to cook instead.

Very nice cabin

The house/cabin was just what we were looking for and really enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was difficult was the sliding glass door kept coming off the track making it difficult to move otherwise everything was great!

Perfect little cabin

We spent the weekend hiking in the Mount Rainier National park, and this house was the perfect location. Very quiet neighborhood, with comfy beds. Close to Packwood to grab food - we didn’t use the kitchen but it looked stocked. We would stay here again.

It's all about the location

A great place for folks wanting easy access to hiking trails and local activities. Down to earth, rustic simplicity, thank goodness for the box fans and additional window air conditioner during the current heat wave. Showers have seemingly unlimited hot water, plenty of towels. Did not have time to try the hot tub or BBQ. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare meals. Bunk bed room great space for small children. Master bedroom spacious, washer and dryer in the room quiet, efficient. Abundance of sheets, towels, blankets, pillows etc. All good quality. Please note that the internet information we received via email and in the house binder was incorrect but Megan was amazing, she responded on a Saturday night during a friend's 40th birthday to give us the correct data. She does what is necessary to take care of her renters. Amazingly wonderful.

I grew up camping in Packwood and have family here. I have always loved the area and enjoy watching its evolution. I love snowboarding at White Pass with my daughters and hiking Rainier in the summer! I am from Tacoma and currently live there.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is in the closet neighborhood to White Pass with only a short 17 minute drive to the ski hill. The south entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park is only about 6 miles from my cabin with plenty of hiking and sightseeing available. I love getting away to my cabin it makes an excellent base camp for year round outdoor activities! I enjoy the quiet nights around the campfire with our girls and long days on the mountain! Coming home to relax in the fabulous hot tub after a long day of hiking or boarding is a special treat.

(House has driveway security camera.)

What makes this property unique

After a cold day on the hill, its hard to beat a hot tub for sore muscles and aching feet that have been stuffed in ski boots all day!
