About this property

A delightful stone property that has a traditional countryside charm.

If you enjoy a holiday with a good view, Jasmine Cottage doesn’t just look out onto the beautiful Peak District countryside but also gives you a glimpse of the 15th century ruins of Wingfield Manor. You could spend many a happy hour sitting in the manicured private garden and gazing out onto the views beyond, with a glass of wine or a coffee close at hand.

Inside the property you’ll find a mixture of the traditional and the new, with a stable door from the back garden opening onto tasteful modern comfort, including underfloor heating in the downstairs bathroom and a waterfall shower in the en-suite bathroom. The open plan living and dining area is the focal point of the cottage, with a wood burning stove to create a cosy feel in the colder months.

There are pubs and a village shop within walking distance of the property, not to mention a golf course and riding stables. If you’re here in the spring, a stroll to the manor ruins takes you through lovely bluebell woods. But whatever time of year you stay, you’ll be in the perfect place to explore all the beauty of the Peak District National Park.

Attractions and nearby amenities
Take a step back in time at Crich Tramway Village, where you’ll be able to ride on vintage trams, stroll along Edwardian streets or simply soak up the stunning views of the Derbyshire countryside.
Chatsworth House is a stunning stately home that has been passed down in the same family for 16 generations. Home to some beautiful treasures and works of art, the house is open for most of the year. The gardens include a Victorian rock garden and a maze, and the water features are a must-see.
Every year, local folk in Derbyshire get together to create well dressings, decorating wells and springs with floral designs and petals. A lot of care and skill goes into the crafting of each well dressing, and if you’re here between May and September you might get the chance to witness the well dressers in action.
If the little ones need to let off a little steam then you could make a big, big day of it at Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath. There are lots of rides and attractions, and you’re welcome to bring along your own picnic too.
Hardwick Hall is one of the finest Elizabethan buildings in the country. Bess of Hardwick wanted a house that would make an impression on any visitor, and her creation still does exactly that today. With large windows on every storey, the house seems to be more glass than brick. The Hardwick Estate is fascinating too – make sure to visit Stainsby Mill and learn how flour is made here in the traditional way.
The Peak District is a walker’s paradise and you’ll find plenty of valleys to amble along and peaks to conquer. One favourite for families is Dovedale, with its enchanting stepping stones. If you’d like to just step back and view the scenery from afar, Bolsover Castle is a Stuart mansion with spectacular views over Derbyshire.
You may know it as a pudding, but Bakewell is a picturesque town too, and the largest in the National Park. There are plenty of shops and cafes to enjoy, and every Monday you’ll find a bustling market at the heart of the town.

Perfect period cottage

Jasmine Cottage is a picture perfect stone cottage. The owner met us on arrival at the property and talked us through the functions of equipment and heating. We were a party of 4 adults and the cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything that was needed. We would highly recommend this property as the furnishings and fixtures are of a quality standard.
