About this property

Tucked Away Cottage, Langham, Norfolk

A beautifully presented and welcoming upside down cottage with wonderful rural views across adjacent farmland. Located in the peaceful village of Langham, just a couple of miles from the coast at Blakeney and Morston, and five from the pretty Georgian town of Holt, Tucked Away Cottage is the perfect romantic bolt hole to escape to at any time of the year.

Forming part of the old 'Langham Glass' development - an exclusive small collection of cottages and barn conversions - this superb modern cottage offers both character and luxury boutique-style accommodation over two floors. Oak flooring and doors along with underfloor heating throughout sets the tone. Both the bedrooms are on the ground floor (king-size with twin option and a master en-suite with double bed), along with a second bathroom. On the first floor, there is a beautifully appointed open-plan pleasantly light and airy living space with double height vaulted ceiling with recessed lighting. A high quality well-equipped hand crafted oak kitchen is complimented by granite work surfaces and is fitted with a range of high quality appliances including a coffee machine. The kitchen is open to the sitting and dining area, where french doors with a Juliet balcony offer long distance country views. This open plan space is excellent for entertaining and a relaxing place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. Also on this level is a useful utility with cloakroom. Tucked Away Cottage has a small private, courtyard garden from where you can enjoy a peaceful glass of wine at the end of the day.

Good location, good property in need of a bit of TLC

Nice place in a good location but in need of some TLC. IE needs a thorough cleaning, sofa and chairs are well used and now uncomfortable, shower door doesn't stay closed, most window catches were seized, heating system would not adjust(too hot) and the wifi is rubbish. Parking space was occupied by someone else most of the week. If these things were attended to then I would give 5stars.
Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2022

Well equipped and comfortable -----+eventually

Arrived Friday evening to no hot water and minimal heating. Contacted Norfolk Hideaways at earliest possible time Saturday morning and issue was resolved., But it took approx 48 hrs for heating to be comfortable Hopefully Norfolk Hideaways will take action to ensure that this does not happen again. Other than this the accommodation is excellent, very modern extremely well equipped ( a few more mugs/ cups would be welcome) and well located for access to North Norfolk Coast. We would certainly return if having guarantee that ch/water would be fully operative on arrival.

Lovely stay in a beautiful building

Very well equipped and beautifully designed. Everything you would want with plenty of board games, comfortable beds and great appliances. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. A very peaceful location with great views over fields.

Highly recommended

Excellent location, being just a mile or so inland from Blakeney, but far enough to get you away from the busyness of the coastal strip. The house itself is part of a small complex of what appeared to be mostly rental properties. At the time of our visit in early October the area was very quiet. The design of the house with the bedrooms downstairs and the cooking and sitting areas upstairs made the most of the limited views across the courtyard and agricultural fields. It was well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our group, made up of two couples, decided to eat in for half of our stay and dine out for the other half. Eating in was a pleasure, with the open plan kitchen/dining area and there were plenty of good places to eat out within a few miles of Langham.

Peaceful, cosy cottage with nice touches

Lovely little cottage. Pleasant, peaceful holiday feel and lovely outlook. Pictures reflect cottage well. Interior well thought out with some nice extra touches by the owners. High standard of decoration and modern. Practical with good wardrobe and bathroom space . Good en-suite and nice kitchen with ample storage. Beds comfortable. Well located for all the attractions and the coast. However nothing in the village itself except one pub. The hotel is residents only. Bathroom would benefit from shower caddy, putting things on the floor is not practical nor that feasible for anybody with back/ agility issues . Bedroom would benefit from a blind, as shutters don’t shut the light out enough. If you are a light sleeper take a sleep mask. It is cosy and more suited to one couple or a small family than two couples, as 4 adults could feel crowded quite quickly. A few issues, but don’t let that put you off: Main draw back was the cleanliness it was lacking in quite a few areas inside and out, this was poor particularly since because of Covid there is extra cleaning time allocated. This was fed back and presumably will be dealt with. If outside is important to you ( it wasn’t to us and the weather wasn’t for it either) then just be aware it is very hemmed in, there is no outlook and not sure it gets much sun. Also there is some machine in it which makes it a bit utilitarian rather than relaxing holiday vibe.

A relaxing break

A lovely property, well located to travel to the many attractions in North Norfolk. The property was very well equipped and spotlessly clean, decoration and equipment all to a high standard. Peaceful and with lovely views, enjoyed seeing the numerous skeins of geese arriving for the autumn, winter. Would highly recommend the property.

Good place to stay and very good property.

Situated in a lovely quiet village. Property is very well equipped. Parking outside in cul de sac. Shower in EnSite is excellent. Beds comfortable. Nice TV. Only thing about property which was a slight irritation was we were hot during the night and used the fans provided. Ten minute drive from Coast. Hotel next door and Local Pub 300 yards away. Lots of coastal & country walks. Shops and Garage two mile away in Blakeney. We would stay again

Pleasant apartment in convenient location for tourists.

We enjoyed our holiday in this quiet village which was well positioned for seeing local areas. We were surprised to find the cottage in a hotel complex, this was not indicated in the listing. The outside area of the apartment was very small and very enclosed so not that wonderful for sitting out having sundowners. Plenty of space for four adults with two bathrooms being very useful. Needs kitchenware reviewing e.g prepping knives, mugs, ovenware dishes were very large so could have done with something a bit smaller as we like to self cater.

Loved the layout and Juliet balcony.

Pros: Loved the upside down layout. Lovely evening breeze through the open doors of the Juliet balcony. Wonderful high ceiling makes living area seem larger. Handy ice machine in freezer was well used in the hot weather! Great to have a NESPRESSO machine. Comfortable bed. Excellent TV picture. A fan is provided, very thoughtful. Cons: Tight parking space for a large car. Car park space not identified so we didn't know which one it was until we opened the property folder inside. Please put the number on welcome email so future guests don’t have the same issue. Outdoor table and chairs not usable as dirty and covered in cobwebs. Too many to clean off with a kitchen cloth and hose doesn’t work. Nowhere to sit down and do hair/make-up. Beware: the electric charging point in the Harper Hotel car park charged us £25 per hour for a 7kwh charger! We found the sofa uncomfortable but as there were only two of us we used the armchairs which were lovely.

Tucked Away Cottage

The property is comfortable, well situated and tastefully furnished. However, we were surprised and dismayed to find that for our ten night stay, we were left with 2 dishwasher tablets, half a Jeye cloth to wash up with, no spare refuse sacks for the small kitchen bin.The dishwasher needed salt and Finish, and these were also absent..........in a hard water area. We have stayed in many cottages and have not had to provide these basics before. It would be better for the rental to be increased by ten pounds in order to provide these. We did inform the agency and trust that they passed on our comments to the owner.

March 2020 visit

Lovely cottage - we enjoyed a fabulous few days. Everything was great, a really well presented cottage in a beautiful village. Could not fault anything. Thankful we booked it just before lockdown due to Corona. Stay safe and we hope to have a return stay one day.

W÷kend in Norfolk

Very nice accommodation. A couple of minor improvements would be a shelf in the shower for shampoo and soap. Also the shower door had a tendency to slide open. There is a capsule coffee machine but the are no cups that are suitable for use with it. A cafetiere would have been more useful.

Well equipped cottage

The cottage is well equipped and decorated and finished to a high standard. We appreciated the thoughtful touches ie.handsoap and a few essential items which had been provided on our arrival. I think the only downside is there is no garden, however we were out and about each day as the cottage is not far from the coast and places of interest. Although the village of Langham is without a shop there are plenty of shops and amenties relatively close by.
