Wonderful lodging/stunning location!

Beautifully decorated cottage, with a very comfortable, homey feeling set in an amazingly beautiful area near the Isle of Skye in Northwest Scotland. Everything was handled in a most professional and cordial manner from start to finish regarding the rental of and our stay in the West Bothy at Attadale Estate. I stayed at the cottage for a week with two teenage daughters and we enjoyed it very much. The kitchen was fully stocked with a nice assortment of everything you could need to prepare meals and there is even a caterer on the estate who will prepare home cooked meals to be picked up or brought to your cottage. Everything from homemade bread to natural, healthy pizza! We enjoyed sitting around the wood fire in the evenings watching BBC historical dramas on the DVD player. Since we are from America we thought that was as British as we could get! The Attadale gardens were amazing in their Fall colors...made some great photos. We hope to return in the future!

Lovely cottage in great location

Authentic and beautifully renovated cottage (even better than the photo's on the site suggest), clean and very well-equipped. The garden is spacious, with a lovely stream, and the best views of Attadale estate and Loch Carron. The estate itself is wonderful, especially for those who love hiking and/or fishing. Very friendly owners and Mrs. Watson at the launderette! The gardens are extensive and lovingly designed and maintained; plenty to discover. The same goes for the very scenic area; there is a lot to see and do. We would warmly recommend this property to anyone!

Cottage confortable,chaleureux, magnifique endroit

Beautiful sights in a comforting home

When we arrived the cottages were beautifully clean and all prepared for us to simply relax into. The area around the cottages is beautiful and many an hour was spent wandering the Attadale Gardens, which were conveniently free for residents of the cottages.Vegetables and herbs from the gardens are also sold and make for a delicious dinner addition, as they are organic and fresh. The cottages were well equipped with all tools needed, and if there was anything wanting, the owners were so welcoming and friendly that it was easy to ask questions. There was also a good supply of books and movies to fill any spare time. It is in a location where it is easy to access beauty spots; such as the Isle of Skye and Loch Ness. These cottages are well worth staying in for anyone looking for a quiet area to rest and relax.

Strathan & West Bothy Cottages, June 2013

Our group of 11 thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay on the Attadale Estate in June 2013. Five of us used Strathan & six used the West Bothy. The latter would benefit from having a second toilet but otherwise we found both properties to be well equipped & maintained and very clean. We very much enjoyed the two meals we purchased from the newly established catering service run by Linda & her husband Soren, a real must for anyone staying at Attadale. This is a great area for walking, hills, scenery and enjoyment of the lovely gardens on the estate. A bit more garden furniture would be good. We came on the recommendation of friends & have no hesitation recommending Attadale to others.

Attadale Estate

We have been taking holidays at Attadale for over ten years now. Originally we came for the stunning hills of Torridon and Glen Shiel and for access to Skye but we also love being on the estate and enjoy the many low level walks that are available, both on the estate and elsewhere in the area (Coulags to Torridon is a favourite). The gardens on the estate are also absolutely beautiful and merit a visit in their own right - lots of little paths and bridges that children just love exploring as well as a huge range of fascinating plants and sculpture. We have stayed in all of the cottages (other than Strathan House) over the years and they are all of a similar high standard. They are very comfortable, warm and cosy (good open fires/wood burners with a plentiful supply of logs) and are all well equipped. Everything that you need is there and works and the beds are very comfortable. The cottages are situated about a mile into the estate and are therefore very peaceful, with regular visits from the deer. In the local area, there are good places to eat and the drive to Applecross, over the Bealach Na Ba, gives jaw dropping views on a clear day and is a pretty exciting drive at any time. There is also a lovely sandy beach just north of Applecross, as seen in Monty Halls’ Great Escape. Overall a blissful place that we just keep coming back to.
