Beautiful Apartment
The apartment is spotless, with plenty of bedding and towels & toiletries. Giovanna and her father Luigi, are helpful & kind, they can even organise trips for you.
Walking through the gate, you are greeting with a stunning lemon grove, interspersed with roman statues, stone benches & stunning views.
The rooms are large, plenty of storage & the beds are comfortable.
In the village there are 2 restaurants, the best L'Antico Scantinato, & a coffee shop/grocery store
I would have given 5 stars if it not for 3 things
There is parking, 8 minutes from the property. It needs to be clearer on the listing, as it sounds like there is parking on site. The hardest part is the steep hill. I have asthma and found the hill an awful struggle. Luigi has a Piaggio truck to help with luggage, as it would be just too difficult without help.
There are no fly nets on the bedroom windows, without AC, & in the summer, the windows need to be open all night, we tried it, but it was suffocating. We were bitten in the extreme, and it very almost ruined the trip. There are only 2 very low powered fans & in 36 D heat they don't do the job.
The kitchen is not well equipped, so if you wish to cook with local ingredients like I do, you will find it difficult. There was one small impractical knife, no oven dish, no lids for pans, no salad bowl, no toaster and the oven didn't have a grill.
Overall, a beautiful place, with beautiful people, and with very little effort it could be perfect.
