Artists’ Cottages, a family business located in Harrogate own and run this cottage. This beautifully restored cottage in the town centre has a unique interior design reflecting the age and character of the property whilst transforming it for the 21st century's more discerning guest. The ambience is calm and relaxing with soothing shades of duck egg set-off by the carefully chosen artworks from local artists - Suited to business and holiday travellers alike. A real feel of home. USB sockets and free unrestricted secure WIFI. Dining/Kitchen is designed for cooks with its Miele Pyrolitic oven, Neff induction hob, Krups (Nespresso) coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave and Delonghi small appliances. The dining table extends to seat up to 6. The separate laundry area has a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board. The separate sitting room features 2 comfortable antique arm chairs and a Barker & Stonehouse sofa for you to sink into in front of a log burning stove. To really chill out there is a retro vinyl player, Bluetooth speakers and SMART tv. We leave a selection of Folio edition books and board games for guests to enjoy during their stay. The fully enclosed patio features a garden bench (all year) dining furniture, BBQ and Chiminea, and floral displays during the summer months. There is a spacious ground floor bathroom with shower over the bath. The front garden has a Victoriana seat and fronts onto the footpath leading to the town centre. On the 1st floor there are 2 generous bedrooms with work stations/dressing tables, and king size beds that can split to give singles in both bedrooms upon request.
The new staircase is unsuited to young children and those with mobility issues. (Stair Gates cannot be fitted).
The property can accommodate up to 2 small pets with prior arrangements and at extra cost. (£65 per stay). Pets to be kept caged overnight- no pets upstairs or on furniture. Pets must not be left unattended at the property at any time. The property is in close to proximity to 3 other Artists' Cottages properties.
We can provide high chair and travel cot for which you will need to provide your own bedding. You will need to request these but we make no charge.

We started this business in 2017 with the intention of giving our guests a memorable experience by combining some of the best experiences we have enjoyed from our own travels. We love welcoming guests to Harrogate and sharing our love of North Yorkshire. Being born here, I have lived most of my life in Yorkshire. My husband and I met in London and he continues to commute on a weekly basis. We have three adult children, two of whom are married, and a granddaughter. We live nearby so know the area well. We are passionate regarding our guests and ensuring their best possible experience. We personally meet and greet everyone and are on call 24/7, so you can enjoy your stay with complete ease. We are a local Harrogate Family passionately committed to giving our guests the best possible experience. Each of our cottages is individually designed to ensure your comfort. We ensure our guests are personally met to give you the peace of mind that you deserve. We are on call 24/7.
Why they chose this property
We were charmed by the aspect, location, proximity to Harrogate Convention Centre and the sense of space inside of this cottage. We saw its potential as an ideal place for guests to relax and enjoy all Harrogate and the surrounding area has to offer. Artists' Cottage has a front garden. The rear courtyard is enclosed and provides a perfect environment for al fresco dining during the warm summer months. Upstairs are 2 spacious bedrooms which can give single beds in both rooms upon request. We have recently replaced the original staircase so it is less steep. However, stair gates cannot be fitted, so the property is not recommended for young children or anyone with mobility issues. We loved the spacious kitchen/diner but felt it required an up lift - so we added colourful glass, it's easy to keep clean and we upcycled the Ercol dining table, chairs and stools. We hope you like the results. The neighbours are friendly and love our guests.

The fact that as owners we are on call 24/7. We operate a personal check-in service where someone who knows the property and the area personally meets you. All this gives you peace of mind. We are a family business and we work with local people who share our enthusiasm and love of hospitality, from the cleaners, to our marketing, to those who meet and greet. We all know each other and are not just colleagues! The details matter!
We leave fresh milk in the fridge(organic if we can get it), fresh ground coffee, tea bags, coffee pods, biscuits on a tray all ready for your arrival.
Our linens and towels are all professionally laundered to the highest standards and are constantly renewed and upgraded.
Our beds are manufactured by a local company for us, to ensure you have a great night's sleep.
Harrogate is a 19th Century Spa Town famous for its water and Turkish Baths. Originally purpose built for tourists! So everything is designed with you in mind, from the location of the station and shops to the amenities of the gardens.
Harrogate is served daily by 6 direct trains from London Kings Cross.
Harrogate hosts: Flower Shows, The Great Yorkshire Show (July) Film Festivals, Fashion shows, Bridal exhibitions, Toy and Gift Fairs, Christmas Markets, International Festivals. Trade Fairs, Antique Fairs, Professional Gatherings, Sports events, Arts and Crafts Fairs and so much more. There are 2 theatres and 2 cinemas, RHS Gardens, Grade 2 listed Valley Gardens and more than 250 food outlets - something for everyone!
