My wife and I stayed at The Road Less Travelled for 3 nights for our 2nd wedding anniversary and we absolutely loved the cabin. There isn’t one thing that we didn’t love about our stay.
This was a quick weekend getaway for our anniversary and the place was super cute and clean. The hot tub was secluded and there were some really cute lights in the trees after the sun went down that I loved.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We went for a quick getaway and wanted a secluded area. This was very secluded. The road to the cabin made us very nervous as it was a small one lane road but there wasn’t any traffic to worry about. The hills to the cabin are steep and there’s no way I’d stay here in the winter. We liked the gated entrance with code to enter. That gave us a sense of safety being so far off the Parkway. The cabin was very pretty including the outdoor area. We loved the outdoor fireplace with the sitting space and outdoor refrigerator. This would be nice to use if we had stayed longer. We enjoyed the hot tub nightly and loved the outdoor tv to watch while we relaxed. The inside of the cabin was nice but small. It’s okay for 2 people but we had expected it to be more roomy in the living room area. It was also dark. The lighting was very dim in the living room/dinning room area but we managed to find all of the lights and turned them on with the blinds open to give more lighting. The only complaint we had, and it was a big one, was the noise that comes from the kitchen/refrigerator area. It sounded like a coyote howling and was pretty loud. We thought it may have been air in the water lines but didn’t know. It was loudest at night and early morning which disturbed our sleep and made it hard to rest. We didn’t notify anyone because we had seen an early review mentioning it as well so we knew they were aware of the issue.
We absolutely loved this cabin and live visiting the Smokies. This cabin was perfect for our getaway
This was a great little cabin. Had all the goods you look for when staying in one in the smokies. Great modern updates, homey feel, hot tub, soaking tub, fireplace, Mountain View, cleanliness, great location that makes it easy to get to all the fun things the smokies offer.
We loved the privacy this cabin offered. It is absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be back. It’s location is great. Not too far from the attractions but far enough to give you the privacy.
This place is just great! It was beautiful and everything was exactly like it said it would be! Views are amazing and hot tub was the absolute best!! Would recommend to anyone wanting a couple trip or honeymoon trip! Loved it!
Nice quaint cabin tucked in the trees on the side of a mountain. Perfect for a couple to enjoy a soak in the hot tub or snuggle up in front of the fireplace. Close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
My husband and I recently stayed at this secluded one-bedroom cabin in Pigeon Forge and overall had a good experience. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, perfect for a peaceful getaway. It is about a 12 minute drive from the main road. The cabin itself is charming, but the space is tight. We appreciated the comfortable bed, the cleanliness of the space; however, for the money we spent, we expected a little more. There was no coffee provided, no salt or pepper, no hand soap. For a place charging premium prices, that’s just disappointing. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces weren’t working, which removed a big part of the cabin’s appeal. And the lighting inside is so dim it made it hard to cook, read, or do anything comfortably in the evenings. To top it off, there were strange sounds from the plumbing or possibly a gas line, especially at night, which made it hard to fully relax. The place felt like it had potential, but it clearly isn’t being maintained with guests in mind.Overall, it's a cozy and scenic spot that just needs a few maintenance updates and more attention to basic guest needs to make it perfect. We enjoyed our stay but hope to see these things addressed for future guests.
It was a nice place to stay. It was really narrow road and very steep to get to .
The canvas really nice for two people the bathroom was kinda of small the shower had no where to hang on when washing your feet and the bed was very uncomfortable and hard to get into for people that are short but over all it was very nice place to stay short drive to town but very steep and Mount Ness and Hazzard to drive and a one lane road to get to the cabin the outside area was nice and mountain view was beautiful loved our stay there.
My husband and I needed a rest and a break from the general rat race. From booking to check-in, to staying for a couple days, this trip was just what we needed. It was pet-friendly, and our puppy enjoyed the stay, too. The cabin was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with anything one might need for a get-away (and then some)! The bed was very comfortable; the soaking tub and hot tub felt incredible! However, it was the spa shower that I enjoyed most. It was almost like standing in the cool, soft rain. I loved it! We fished (caught an 18" trout), and cooked out on the gas griddle...makes great steaks! It is only a hop, skip, and jump from town, so we enjoyed going to The Island and visited Paula Deen's Family Kitchen. It was a great trip, and we look forward to renting again sometime.
The place itself was beautiful! Super clean! If you love nature, this is your place to stay but I will say we are from south Texas and there's no curves or steep roads it's flat as a board so we were a little scared driving up and down the roads because we are not use to it but we made it. It is pretty close to downtown Pigeon Forge. I would like to come back again just my husband and I
The cabin was very nice, small but they were very creative with use of space inside and out. The road in can be a challenge and parking my 4 door pick up was as well. The cabin could be better supplied. No hand soap, no tissues, no dish towels. Only one trash bag provided. Found a couple dead bugs. Overall a good experience despite the little things.
Not the unit we expected getting, was switched to a different unit than the one we booked. Check in was a hassle, over an hour and half late after time posted for check-in and many calls later. Nothing in the cabin worked as far as Wi-Fi/dish- the entertainment was out the whole time. The bed was hard, couch with pull-out bed was small and hard also. Only plus was the shower and the cleaning lady was nice.

one lane road!
Overall, the cabin is great. Perfect for two people. HOwever, the road to get there is one lane all the way up from the entrance gate. Luckly, we only met someone once... and thankfully my husband is the best backer upper ever! lol. Seriously though, the road is sketchy... and we always came home before dark because there is no lighting... so we honestly were worried about driving!! So plan for that! Might as well be no wifi - so plan ahead for alternative source of internet. TV is off brand - and the screen shows it - so don't expect clear picture!
But, my biggest issue was you have to drive all the way back to rental company to return keys. This takes about 30 minutes total to get back to where you started. Especially if heavy traffic. Not sure why - but they won't let you lock keys inside. So, don't plan on waking up and heading home - because you have to go back into pigeon forge to leave the keys.
Up to the point of checking in was great. Checked in-overnight-a noise kept happening over and over from somewhere in the cabin. Could not locate it. Sounded like pipes making a noise. Called the next day - response we will send maintenance. Did not show. Day 2 - overnight - all you hear all night long is the noise from the pipes or at this point maybe the fridge. Called maintenance over again. Showed up while we were gone - was there when we got back. Could not fix the issue - even after the person I spoke to on the phone 'promised' it would be resolved that day. Day 3 - July 4th. Repair folks are not responding to a 4th of July call at all. Response from Fireside Chalets - we can give you an $85 inconvenient fee. I was sent a docusign that essentially stated I had to release them from liability and I couldn't post anything on social media, reivews, etc. I would rather pay another $100 to say my peace. It was frustrating. It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend in the mountains. Ende dup with frustrations from noises on appliances and appliances not working. Dishwasher never worked - another Maintenace person(s) called while we were there on this issue. And all the while - the mouse under the sink the entire time was the least of our problems.
I highly recommend this cabin if it's a solo trip or for a party of two. It's pretty very well laid out & with a few updates it would be perfect. The view from the porch where the rocking chairs are set up is amazing for early morning cups of coffee or watching the sun set behind the mountains. There are many pros to this cabin, but to be honest there are some cons. The main con is that the cleaning service needs to really pay attention especially given the cleaning fee they charge for the rental (grill left dirty with grease & left over food, lots of food crumbs left on kitchen table, pots/pans stored with food still on them, dead bugs in bathroom & bedroom, outdoor fridge filthy, hot tub needs chlorine, no soap provided for kitchen or bathroom.) The price for this cabin isn't cheap so I expected semi decent sheets...I've felt sandpaper that is softer. I understand that this is a cabin for two, but providing only two plates is a bit cheap...I ended up having to wash dishes everyday so we would have plates for the next day. We purchased items like a grill brush, basic kitchen utensils, hand soap and left them for the next renter. The pros are the updated appliances, the spa shower, large laundry room (large enough to store luggage and use washer/dryer), full kitchen table, view from the rocking chairs, feeling like you're the only cabin on the mountain, ease of checking in and friendliness of the leasing office. With a little attention to detail this cabin would be an A+.
