Beautiful Waterfront Retreat with Your Own Beach, A Large Deck & Personal Dock!
A cozy 3-bedroom home with 69 feet of lakefront on Lake Coeur d'Alene's quiet Neachen Bay (formerly Squaw Bay). Watch the beautiful Pacific Northwest sunsets from the large deck, the beach or the private dock! The dock has a covered boat slip and the water in Neachen Bay is always clean because of the rock and gravel floor. Water shoes are recommended. The home is easily accessible along the beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway, and just 20 minutes from the action in downtown Coeur d'Alene.
Enjoy your private beach and dock! The dock has room to park larger boats on the outside cleats and the slip can accommodate up to a 22' boat WITHOUT a tower.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 65 steps leading up to the home so be sure that all guests are suitable for stairs. The view is worth the hike!
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The upstairs has two bedrooms. The home is completely furnished and has dishes, linens, sheets, towels and everything needed for a great vacation - just bring your own food and drink!
The home is only 16 miles (20-25 minutes) by car from downtown Coeur d'Alene. You can also get to The Resort by boat in less than 10 minutes.
There is room for parking 3 cars on the property. Mineral Ridge is very close by and you can store boat trailers and launch from there.
This property will sleep 8 in beds (based on 2 persons per bed) and is located in a peaceful neighborhood on a beautiful, quiet bay where you can enjoy a wonderful stay by the lake!
The Wifi is spotty. We continue to evaluate the best providers but its not as reliable as we'd like to offer. Great for emails and texting but hit and miss on video calls.

We had our family of four (2 teenage daughters), and the space was perfect for us. We loved the location on the lake. We loved sitting on the deck and playing games and reading books on the dock. We were able to rent a pontoon and have it delivered right to the dock.
We didn't eat much, but the kitchen seemed well-supplied.
Great Property! Great Lake views. Lots of indoor/outdoor living space. Plenty of room for 8 people. House was SPOTLESS when we checked in. Owners frequently checked in with us to make sure our needs were being met. Plenty of space to dock our 22 ft tri toon. Don’t hesitate to book if looking for Lakeside getaway.
Our family of four had a great week at this lovely lake cabin. The private dock was great, and we spent a lot of time paddle boarding and swimming on the lake. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable. My kids really enjoyed the DVD collection. We would definitely go back!
So many memories were made. Situated in a calm alcove of Lake Coeur d’Alene, this is a beautiful, well-appointed, vacation home. We made countless memories and enjoyed sunsets from the deck each night. We brought quite a bit of luggage and the stairs, while daunting at first sight, were easy to navigate. So thankful we found this home and hope to return again in the future.
We had a great time, and loved the view. Older home, and odd layout (no bathroom upstairs), but plenty sufficient. Host/owner was great … very responsive. Upstairs beds were a little old/crickedy, but again, plenty sufficient.
The house is in a bay that stays relatively quiet and calm even when a lot of boats are out on the weekends. That helped us really enjoy swimming and kayaking around the dock. The only slight issue was some broken glass outside on the deck when we got to the property and One of the garbage bins was full which was challenging with 5 adults staying for a week.
Beautiful views of the lake from the balcony and more than enough room for us. Highly recommend this rental
This was a very nice house, quite clean and overlooking the lake. It has a nice front porch to hang out on and good light in the main living room.
Make sure that you are up to climbing the front steps before renting this house -- it has 65 steps from the street to the front door! Also, only one bedroom is on that main floor. The other bedrooms are another flight up the stairs.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Good but with some caveats
The house is situated in a beautiful location. However, the cleanliness of the house left much to be desired (we shouldn’t have to clean the grill upon arrival). Also, the house is literally falling apart in some places (drawers don’t open, mirrors falling off the wall). The stairs need several coats of paint.
In spite of these shortcomings, we enjoyed our stay and the owner was very attentive. If the house had a makeover, it would be a really great property.
The view was super from the house and the dock was a perfect swimming spot. The house is located on a fantastic bay where the wind is blocked so it is very peaceful. Throughout the day there was always sunny spots and shady spots on the deck and dock which we really appreciated so that you could situate for what you wanted. Our teens liked going into town and the drive was only 25 minutes to downtown CDA which was a big plus - perfect balance between being at a peaceful lake spot but close enough to downtown. It was easy getting a boat delivered to the dock. Paddleboating was fun and easy in the bay. The house is nice for the price point and had everything that we wanted. The cleaning crew did only an ok job. We got used to the stairs and that is the tradeoff to get the view and less bugs a bit up off the water. We would rent this house again.
Great place to stay on CdA lake!! Stayed here with a small group of friends with young kids. The location was ideal as we spent all of our time down at the water. Property owners were very responsive, when there was confusion over checkout time, they quickly responded and allowed for a later check out time. This was the only discrepancy we had as the checkout time was listed at 11 on our rental information but was actually 10, but this issue was resolved promptly. The cabin and amenities were what you would expect for a slightly dated lake place. The fire pit did not work and we did run out of toilet paper the last day, but both issues were communicated to the owner and they offered to reimburse any personal costs for TP. Before booking, know that there are a lot of stairs from the parking spot/lake to the cabin, as this would limit accessibility for anyone with knee or hip problems. The bay itself was private, quiet and ideal for swimming and water sports. The dock is in good condition and the water is clear with a nice sandy beach walk-in, as you get deeper the bottom gets a little rocky. We really enjoyed our stay, the lakefront location is ideal, there is an amazing view of the lake from the deck, cabin was cozy. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Owners were responsive and pleasant.
great location with private dock but needs an upstairs bathroom
On a positive note, the house has a wonderful western exposure and a fantastic private dock and it is also only 15 or 20 minutes to town. In our case, six adults stayed in this house and it was plenty big to accommodate us, however, we should have more closely scrutinized the bathroom situation. The first floor was very comfortable and easily fit 6 of us in both the living rooms and the kitchen but the sleeping accommodations were less than perfect. Two of the sleeping areas were on the second floor; one being a open loft area with 2 beds and the other a bedroom with a queen bed and a door. The loft would have been fine had the second bedroom not needed to walk through the loft area at night to access the narrow wooden stairs leading to a bathroom on the first floor. The stairs were narrow and poorly lit (unless you left lights on which would have kept the ppl in the loft awake) thus a flash light was needed to navigate the stairs. It was not an ideal situation for adults who need to get up and use the facilities at night. The 3rd bedroom, located off the kitchen on the first floor, was very comfortable and conveniently located next to a bathroom however the floors above that room squeaked a lot every time a person in either of the upstairs bedrooms got up and moved around.
The kitchen was well equipped and the washer/dryer was very appreciated. There were plenty of towels and beach towels too. The deck off the kitchen had a grill, fire table and dining table with an umbrella but the railing was a bit shaky and the deck surface had a few holes. We used it but were careful not to lean on the railing. The view off the deck was fantastic.
All in all we had a nice visit. The house was clean and comfortable. I think this house is perfect for a family with older children or two couples. Just beware all the stairs both inside and out...
This home was very nice and well cleaned when we arrived. Check in was simple and communication with the owner both prior to and during our stay was excellent. There were a couple of kithchen stock items out that the owner offered to remedy immediately. The views in the evening are amazing from the deck. There are many stairs as others have mentioned but it was only really noticeable unpacking and packing for us. We had a great time here. The bay is quiet with regards to boat traffic. We did not take advantage but the home is very close via boat to the Coeur d’Alene Marina if you wanted to zip over for lunch or a walk downtown.
One thing to note (and something not in the control of the property owners) was that there was a great deal of lake weeds/grass in the water around the bay in which this house sits. There was enough that my kids did not want to swim off the dock. We have an inboard, V-drive boat and every time we left the bay I had to dive under the boat and remove weeds tangled in the prop and shaft (it causes a noticeable vibration underway if not removed). However, there were several other boats that came and went from neighboring houses that didn’t seem to have the same issue so maybe chalk this up to my ignorance on how to deal with it? Not sure if this is seasonal and we just hit high time? This didn’t affect our enjoyment but was an interesting start to each day when we headed out onto the lake. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful week here.
The property was just as described. We had a wonderful time with 2 families (4 adults and 3 children (4-10 years old). Yes, there are a lot of stairs to get to the house, but that was expected and clear in the pictures. The hosts were attentive and offered help when needed.
This is a great house. Beautiful views and a very quiet bay. We had our boat so nice to have dock. We had a short access to the lake . House was great and nice for all of our family. Had a few issues but Buddy was quick to respond and resolved the issues.
The property owners were very timely with responding on the few questions we did have. A very nice lakeside cabin and met the expectations of what was advertised

About the host

We have always loved the Lake Coeur d'Alene area and wanted to have a piece of it for years to come. Summer nights spent on the lake are unbeatable and this home allows us to share those moments with our family, friends and our guests. We encourage feedback from all of our guests as we are always looking for ways to enhance the property and the vacation experience.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property because we absolutely love the Pacific Northwest and specifically Lake Coeur d'Alene. Neachen Bay is a beautiful, quiet cove that is close to downtown and all of the amenities that Coeur d'Alene has to offer.
What makes this property unique
The house sits up on the hill which creates privacy along with spectacular views. The private, sandy beach and the dock are great benefits to this home.
