About this property

Front Range Paradise

This Garden level unit with washer and dryer has a private entrance in a ranch-style home in a nice, quiet neighborhood very close to beautiful Sloan's Lake, and only 5 or 6 minutes from Downtown Denver (if the three lights are green:). Three bedrooms, one is a very large Master bedroom with a king size bed and walk-in closet, desk and recliner. There is a large living room with a Smart TV and WiFi. Also with a pull-out sofa bed. There are two inflatable mattresses for larger parties.

Out back there is a patio with table and chairs, and a backyard as well. There is a sweet, historic mansion in a nice park across the street, where there are sometimes weddings held. Wonderful Sloan's Lake is just down the street. There are great restaurants all around, at the lake, and in the trendy West Highlands area (W. 32nd St. and Lowell Blvd.), which is nearby, with all the cool shops, eateries and bars. Off street parking. Bus stop a half a block away on Sheridan Blvd. and W 29th Ave. I have my office upstairs, and am there with my assistant on weekdays during working hours. Most of the time, normal activity and subsequent noise would not be a problem during these times, though blasting music or yelling might be! After 5:00 pm and weekends, blast away! I am immediately responsive, or my assistant or the co-host for anything you may need.

No Shoes inside! Please remove shoes while inside

No pets allowed.

Please no parties allowed and keep in mind that the same rules as a hotel would apply. Very loud music after hours, very loud voices, singing, shouting etc. that would not be tolerated at a hotel will not be tolerated here. If you are desiring to throw a party, accommodations can be made for an extra cost, depending on the size of the party, approximately $100. If a party is thrown without prior approval, $150 fee will be charged to the account. Thank you for your understanding as this has been an ongoing concern here when hosting large groups of people.

house too hot

The beds were extremely comfortable. We had no control over the temperature and the house was extremely warm. Other than that, nice area. Extremely convenient to downtown.

Plenty of room for a family of 6

Our family of six (kids ages 0-7) stayed three nights here while in town for a wedding. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets and such in the master closet, which was nice because it did get a little chilly at night, but we didn’t mind. It is listed as four bedrooms, but one of the “bedrooms” is the futon in the living room. Again, this wasn’t a problem, but future renters might want to know. Would be nice if it had room for a small kitchen table as there wasn’t a great space for our kids to eat, but overall we had a nice stay.

Never Again! Don’t do it

I don’t even know where to start! I have been using companies to house my crew for quite some time. I have never been treated with such little respect. Let’s start from the beginning. Upon check-in the house was fairly clean. Kitchen not so much, coffee maker still had old coffee grounds in it and stale coffee in the pot. I could look past that, things happen. Noticed every night around 9pm on the dot, all of our Internet would boot us off, we would be forced to try and join the lower working network. Which was not capable of supporting half of us there. We work on the road and work for up to 15 hours a day. All we want to do it FaceTime with our families at night. That was not possible. First encounter with the owner was him reprimanding us for getting dirt on his drive way and asked that we clean the entire driveway off. He knew we were a work crew, that would be at a new construction site. The infestation of ants were utterly disgusting. They were everywhere in the kitchen. We had stayed home due to weather one day, I was told that since my truck was in the driveway he was blocking me in. This is where I was told to park, part of the reason we picked this house was because it said there was ample room for parking and parking of my work trailer. He would not move and I was unable to leave that entire day. He also advised us that day, “ if we were going to be at the house during the day, that we were to make NO noise what so ever between the hours of 9-5” Last but not least. This is the one that got me. One other day we were off due to snow, I decided to get up and cook my guys breakfast. We made bacon, who doesn’t love bacon for breakfast. Later that day, we went to go for supper. He made us all stand in the driveway and talk him. He then proceeded to scolded us for making bacon. That we had “stunk up” the entire house and that that was completely unacceptable and that we had better not do it again. I just want to say, I have never been treated so poorly by someone, over absolutely nothing. So please save yourself from the stress and disrespect he will cause you. Do not stay here ! Find another place, there is a reason he is cheaper than other places. He is horrible to rent from and that is the only way to sucker company/people in.

Close, convenient, and comfortable

First time staying in this VRBO in the summer, the outside areas are beautiful, the place stays cool in the July heat, the beds are comfortable and the place is quiet while being centrally located. Perfect for a few friends to enjoy the weekend.

Spacious, comfortable

I came to Denver with a group of close friends for a weekend vacation and to check out a couple shows at Red Rocks. The space was clean and stocked with most essentials. While it was muggy and hot outside we were always cool and comfortable in the apartment. There were two patios to hang out on and one had a lovely firepit and grill. We housed 7 of us comfortably although a second bathroom would have been nice :) We were within walking distance of a nice park and handful of coffee shops. David was incredibly accommodating and responsive to all our requests. I highly recommend staying in his home as he will make sure you are comfortable and cared for!

Overall good experience

The ten of us overall enjoyed staying at this house. It has comfortable beds, a large couch, and games. There is no table to eat at, but we don’t mind couch dining. There are three bedrooms, a futon, and a large couch. I brought extra blankets just in case, but there is a large closet in the master bedroom with an air mattress and so many blankets and pillows! Two of the rooms are big enough to put an air mattress on the floor. The kitchen was a little odd, but it had everything we needed, minus a dishwasher. It was definitely really warm inside and does not have an option to open windows to get any airflow. I called the gal who manages the place and she remotely turned the heat off- definitely helped right away! The patio is nice, but the neighbors are close, so we were trying very hard to not bother them at night. The only thing that was a little off putting is that there was a dead bug in the bed I slept in, didn’t find it until morning, and there were dirty diapers under the bed. I couldn’t smell them during the stay, but I found them when I was cleaning up before leaving. When I notified the manager, she apologized profusely and said while cleaning, she did not check under the beds. She offered to get us some donuts as an apology. The shower worked well with a lot of shampoo, conditioner, and soap stocked with plenty of towels. The jetted tub is not in working order. Very nice management, and with those minor hiccups I told her about, I think they will improve their cleaning in between renters. Parking wasn’t really an issue as I read in other reviews. This is not on the lake as the picture makes it seem like. The entryway has very steep stairs going to the front door. It was nice to not have to hold onto a key. The door locked and unlocked with a code given at check in. Overall good experience, I would stay here again.

Comfortable and affordable

Likes- Close proximity to dispensaries, restaurants and entertainment, private patio, comfortable beds, clean accommodations, older home but well maintained with some updates. Dislikes- parking, upstairs noise at early hours, potentially hazardous entryway (door opens to stairway), stairs down to unit were steep, unable to lock main door during stay. Important Note-This is a basement unit without egress windows, Home is not on a lake as pictures allude.

Quiet place close to everything in Denver

This is a 3 bedroom basement apt with one bath it was perfect for 3 guys. The kitchen is nice with a large living room and comfortable seating. The place was perfect with adequate parking for a long bed crew cab truck; with two patios, you can smoke outside, one has a gas fire pit and the other with a propane heater. The owner was great and his food recommendations were perfect even knowing the hole in the wall restaurants that would not be busy for Sunday breakfast. Let me address some of the reviews on this property, it’s 3 bedrooms, with 3 couples you can have 6 people with an additional 2 on the couch, the apt next door is also available to rent if you need more space. The heating and cooling were perfect there is a Tstat located in the unit to adjust to your comfort we never needed it though. The water heater is fine as well it’s just a long run so it takes a minute to get hot I found it got hot quicker with the shower on instead of the tub. The property was very quiet we stayed during the weekend and did not see the other tenant or hear them. I would recommend this property and plan on staying there again. Most importantly there was a coffee machine.

Not what you expect, but still super cozy

My friends and I really enjoyed staying here, it served as the perfect base camp for our Denver/Boulder trip. It had room enough for all, and David was very accommodating, providing us with extra kitchen supplies. the couch and futon were very comfortable and the fire pit was a welcome addition. The basement apartment does run a little warm, but I'm sure if you texted him about it, he would fix it all up. Oven is operable, but tends to smoke, so make sure the fan is on if you use it. The area around the apartment is developed and trendy. There are numerous grocery stores and restaurants in close reach. This spot was a good balance of comfort and convenience for our trip and I would definitely recommend it.

We felt like we weren’t there when we first arrived. Cozy spot just weird location.

Place is the basement of a brain damage facility and it only had 3 bedrooms. Technically I guess it does sleep 10 but lots of people were on blow up mattresses and the couch. It was quaint and cozy which we liked but kind of outdated. The lake was a mile or so away. Pretty good location to Denver. Only 3 or 4 miles to the clubs which was nice. Worked out for us once we got over the initial strangeness.

Wonderful stay!

Everything was as stated. Bedrooms are large, plenty of blankets and pillows. Kitchen was well-stocked and the hosts were quick to respond to any requests. Traffic never seemed to work well for us getting to downtown Denver very quickly, but that's not the host's fault! You could hear construction noise in the morning - again, not the host's fault, but could be a problem if you're a light sleeper wanting to sleep in. This was perfect for our extended family in town for my son's wedding. Thank you!!

I am a psychologist with two teenagers. I live nearby and love this trendy part of town, Sloan's Lake/West Highlands.

Why they chose this property

Sloan's Lake is by far the biggest lake in Denver and the only one that permits water skiing. Lot's of nature and birds of all kinds.

What makes this property unique

Just down the street is historic Edgewater and very cool taverns, brew pubs, retail MJ shops, and my favorite restaurant, US Thai.

Our bicycles are for your free use while you stay at our properties, if they are available. We generally would not be able to guarantee availability until the day of your stay.

There is white binder in the home that has the house rules and restaurant and activity recommendations. :)
