About this property

Elk Creek Retreat by Olympic Coast Rentals

Come create lasting memories of the Olympic Coast at Elk Creek Retreat. This 3-bed 2-bath single-level house is the perfect getaway for those looking to explore the Olympic Peninsula! We feature an ideal location just east of the City of Forks, close to beaches, with WiFi, washer and dryer, & three smart TVs! Our aim is to provide everything you’ll need to create a home away from home!

Spend your days discovering the natural beauty of the area before heading back to Elk Creek Retreat. With 1200 sq ft, you’ll have plenty of room to move about without losing that quaint, cozy atmosphere when its time to cuddle up on the couches next to the wood fireplace. House is on the backside of a family-friendly loop community. It sits on just under ⁄ acre and borders state forest (trees, trees and more trees!) and just a short walk away is an idyllic trail that borders Elk Creek.

Prepare family meals in the full kitchen or grill outside on the gas BBQ (propane tank level is not monitored so let us know if it is getting low) and sit down for dinner at the dining table with space for 6. The well-equipped kitchen features a full suite of appliances. A separate coffee bar area allows you to brew up a pot of drip coffee and warm up water in the electric kettle.

When it's time to turn in, you've got three bedrooms to choose from, two with king beds and one with a queen bed. Closets have shelving and hangers. The ensuite bathroom features a walk in shower and the hall bathroom is set up with a tub/shower combo. At the side entrance/mud room you will find a washing machine and dryer.

We try and stock the house with all the basics including linens, towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toilet paper, hair dryer, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, Ziplocs, garbage bags, Folgers coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, hot cocoa, and oatmeal. The house also has some games, children toys, and a pack n play.

You will be renting the whole house and yard. The garage will not be available, but there is plenty of parking in the driveway.

Limited cell phone coverage at the house, but wireless Internet is provided (turn on wifi calling). We are happy to have Starlink Satellite Internet with speeds up to 150 mbps.

This is a pet-free, smoke-free home.

Some nearby attractions are:
• Hoh Rain Forest (55 min to visitor center)
• Scenic beaches (closest are near La Push (First, Second & Third Beach and Rialto Beach – 28 min)
• Hiking trails (so many to choose from closest is 5 min walk to trailhead – Elk Creek Conservation Trail)

Great stay

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and spacious for our family. It was the perfect spot for our family that wanted to be centrally located to the West part of Olympic (Hoh rainforest and the beaches). Check in and out was super easy, the host was great at communicating.

Great house for our visit to Olympic National Park

This house had everything my family of four could need! There were 3 separate bedrooms which worked out perfectly for my husband and I with out 2 twenty-something children! The house was clean and had a great lay-out. There was a comfy living room and a nice kitchen table that could hold 6 people. We cooked the one night and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the pots, pans, and spices we needed. The host responded quickly to my questions and gave me a few suggestions for restaurants for my vegan daughter! We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Olympic!

Great communication from owner, perfect jumping off point for ONP

Split our ONP trip between Port Angeles and Forks to make park access easier. We spent most of our time out adventuring but this place a great place make dinner and rest in the evenings. Comfortable beds, great communication from owner. She sent a comprehensive guide and answered any questions during our stay promptly. We were pleased with property and glad we had it for our trip!

This place was a great location for exploring ONP. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and stocked with all sorts of extras from spices and olive oil to curling irons and q-tips which is great when you are flying and can’t bring your pantry! Very clean and worked great for our two families to stay together. Would definitely stay afain.

Great house!

This house is well appointed and perfectly clean. Very well-maintained. Its location is extremely convenient to any of the west Olympic peninsula activities. If you’re planning on spending any of your time on the beaches, then this location is perfect. The power was out for a short while during our stay, and the owner was quick to respond and give us guidance on how to proceed in the event of a sustained outage. As our party did not cook very much, we were not prepared for an outage, and the owner gave us guidance on which restaurants in town had generators and could provide assistance. Overall, EXCELLENT Stay!!

Lovely and Cozy Home Would Rent Again

Only complaint is that one of the neighborhood dogs got into the trash our last night and the following morning. But Ravae was easy to get ahold of and said she would address it with better cans and locks. Other than that everything was superb. I would easily plan another trip and stay there and im sure friends would agree.

Start your Olympic NP adventures here

House was very clean and comfortable and suited us very well. Forks is a nice town and served as a perfect central location for visiting the western side of Olympic NP. We stocked up on groceries in Aberdeen on the way, but the Thriftway is a pretty good store, but a bit more expensive. The trail nearby is worth the short walk and the fresh produce available just down the street is excellent. The mixed salad greens and green onions had flavor that was better that anything you can get at the store. Look up the LaPush tide tables before you arrive so that you can plan a low tide trip to Rialto Beach. You will be glad you did. Great communication with owner helped make the first night of our vacation a success.

Weekend getaway to Olympic

The review I am writing reflects the accommodations and not the effort of the renter. This rental is more of a 3 star hotel than a 5, but not for the lack of effort of the renters. I would definitely give them 10/10. Great communication, the place was clean, they checked in with us to see if we needed anything, and the place was indeed very well stocked with items to use away from home. The negatives would be that this rental would be more like an AIr B and B that you definitely feel you are renting someone else's home instead of a vacation rental. The master bed was fine in regards to comfort but, our college -aged couple we were with, said the other king was pretty uncomfortable and they rolled into the center of the bed all night. The towels in the master were a bit old, worn and rough and one had a hole. I did notice the towels in the newer bathroom were nicer. I wish there was a comfortable place to sit outside than the plastic chairs but knew that was what was provided before coming. The pots and pans were worn and teflon type. While we did enjoy this place, my issue was mainly a value issue. For $450 a night, one may expect a higher quality product. I realize that the owners are capitalizing on the desirable area, but retrospectively should have considered camping as it may have been just as comfortable.

A great place to tour the west coast

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. I was surprised that Forks had a great grocery store and how close the beaches were to this location. The main room had lots of couches, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking items and the bedrooms were a nice size with comfortable beds. We had a fire one night and it burned exceptionally well. A wonderful find and you'll enjoy your stay here.

About the host

We (Aaron, Ravae and Maeley) are lucky to get to enjoy Forks six-months out of the year and are excited to share our duplex in the beautiful Olympic Peninsula with you. When we are not in Forks we are traveling for our fishing guide business, Angler’s Obsession (to Klickitat, WA and Key Largo, FL). Besides his love for fishing, Aaron is also a pretty a good photographer and you will find his photographs throughout the house. Ravae loves to cook so the kitchen is equipped with all the necessities to make home cooked meals.

Why they chose this property

Forks is such a majestic place. We were drawn here by the fish (Wild Winter Steelhead) and fell in love with the area and community. Settling down was in our mindset when we purchased the home, but alas we have decided to continue traveling.

What makes this property unique

There is so much to see and do if you love the outdoors and our home is the perfect location for it all! Although it is only a few miles from town the property border DNR (public forest land) and is at the back of a loop community.
