Our favourite holiday cottage by far!
Dawn has done an absolutely fabulous job with this lovely cottage. It truly feels like a home from home (actually it's far nicer than our home!).
The kitchen is fully equipped with every thing you could need. There was even a nutribullet and a food processor. Loved the great knives and all the cooking equipment. It's rare to get such a well thought out kitchen - I had no problem cooking anything I wanted here.
The bathroom was very well decorated and emulated an expensive hotel bathroom. The bath was lovely, the hot water was very hot and there were no problems with the oil boiler. There were some lovely little touches in the bathroom like soaps, bath bombs and overall, it felt very luxurious and relaxing to be in - especially if you like to wallow in the bath like myself.
Both bedrooms were very well decorated and very comfortable. It was lovely to have two double bedrooms as I cannot share a bed with my husband - he wriggles too much - and often I get the twin room! The bed was super comfy and I'm a real fuss pot when it comes to mattresses. It was a spring mattress which I'm usually dubious about, however, it has a great topper and you could not feel a single lump or bump.
The lounge was lovely and relaxing and very well decorated. You can tell Dawn has put a lot of work and thought into making it homely but luxurious. It was very nice to go to a dog friendly cottage and have nice comfy sofas as opposed to the usual IKEA square ones.
The garden was really lovely. My dog and I liked to sit and watch the birds on the bird feeder. In the morning and the evening you can watch the wild rabbits feeding in the fields behind the house. The garden was westie proof and he loved pottering about outside.
The area is great. Lovely and quiet but not too far from town. You have an aldi and a tesco 10 minutes down the road. We loved exploring Caeverlock and Drumlanrig castle which were both dog friendly.
We will definitely come back. Thanks Dawn.
