Our favourite holiday cottage by far! Dawn has done an absolutely fabulous job with this lovely cot

Our favourite holiday cottage by far! Dawn has done an absolutely fabulous job with this lovely cottage. It truly feels like a home from home (actually it's far nicer than our home!). The kitchen is fully equipped with every thing you could need. There was even a nutribullet and a food processor. Loved the great knives and all the cooking equipment. It's rare to get such a well thought out kitchen - I had no problem cooking anything I wanted here. The bathroom was very well decorated and emulated an expensive hotel bathroom. The bath was lovely, the hot water was very hot and there were no problems with the oil boiler. There were some lovely little touches in the bathroom like soaps, bath bombs and overall, it felt very luxurious and relaxing to be in - especially if you like to wallow in the bath like myself. Both bedrooms were very well decorated and very comfortable. It was lovely to have two double bedrooms as I cannot share a bed with my husband - he wriggles too much - and often I get the twin room! The bed was super comfy and I'm a real fuss pot when it comes to mattresses. It was a spring mattress which I'm usually dubious about, however, it has a great topper and you could not feel a single lump or bump. The lounge was lovely and relaxing and very well decorated. You can tell Dawn has put a lot of work and thought into making it homely but luxurious. It was very nice to go to a dog friendly cottage and have nice comfy sofas as opposed to the usual IKEA square ones. The garden was really lovely. My dog and I liked to sit and watch the birds on the bird feeder. In the morning and the evening you can watch the wild rabbits feeding in the fields behind the house. The garden was westie proof and he loved pottering about outside. The area is great. Lovely and quiet but not too far from town. You have an aldi and a tesco 10 minutes down the road. We loved exploring Caeverlock and Drumlanrig castle which were both dog friendly. We will definitely come back. Thanks Dawn.

We were delighted with our stay at Woodend.

We were delighted with our stay at Woodend. Our hostess made us feel like old friends as she welcomed us and showed us around her lovely house. The decor is so stylish and shows a real appreciation of what makes a beautiful home. We did not lack for anything. Indeed we were reluctant to leave that amazing kitchen! Super comfy sofas and beds. The highlight was undoubtedly the patio doors , opening out to the sweetest garden, with lavender lining the paths and with open views to the countryside. Charmed by the cows having a nosey over the hedge! All in all, this has to be one of the best experiences we have ever had! We recommend this to everyone...even those with dogs, who have their own blankets provided!

We had a great holiday staying at Woodend cottage.

We had a great holiday staying at Woodend cottage. The house was very well furnished and well laid out, we were very comfortable. The house was very well equipped with everything you needed, the kitchen especially had all the utensils you could think of. The beds very comfortable and we were very happy there(a home from home). Dawn met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house, she had left us with a welcome pack which was very much appreciated. There was one evening we had thunder and lightning, Dawn called us and asked if we had power and if we're alright, we did have power and were absolutely fine. Dawn was a very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. I will definitely recommend this beautiful cottage to family and friends and we hope to return sometime. Highly recommend Stephen, Linda & Paul

Would highly recommend this cottage, tastefully decorated, peaceful surroundings, and well equipped

Would highly recommend this cottage, tastefully decorated, peaceful surroundings, and well equipped it has everything you would need to have a relaxing stay. we had a fantastic holiday the cottage back garden looks onto fields with cows was great entertainment for the kids as well as rabbits and birds visiting the garden regularly. The sky at night was amazing, so clear on a summers night the owner Dawn took the time to leave binoculars for anyone with wildlife interests or simply star gazing Dawn really has gone out her way with all the delicate little touches to make your stay completely relaxing and stress free. Will definitely be booking woodend again in the future.

We have had an amazing time here.

We have had an amazing time here. The cottage has been fantastic and had everything we needed. It’s spacious, comfortable, clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. The garden is so pretty with a great view and is secure for the dogs. Dawn has been extremely friendly and very helpful, as have the neighbours. There are so many places to go and visit, this has been a great base to travel from. I would fully recommend this cottage.
