Nestled in the woods overlooking beautiful Keweenaw Bay, you will find a distinctive and intimate Retreat. This luxurious retreat is located in Baraga, Michigan, accommodating 13-15 guests. Let the glorious view of the bay and the charms of our home rejuvenate your spirit. There are six bedrooms that sleep two guests each. There is an assortment of beds including a California king, three queens, a double, and two twins. The master bedroom has its own ensuite and a large shared bathroom, which contains two sinks and a combination shower and bathtub. The suites offer views of either Keweenaw Bay and the Huron Mountains or the surrounding forest.
The natural setting of our Retreat exudes the warmth and charm you’ve been longing for. The decor boasts the Scandinavian and Native American that is relavant to our area's culture. After a long day of hiking, golfing, shopping, or sightseeing, relax and enjoy an afternoon indoors while having a sauna or hot tub experience.
Relax in our fresh air swimming pool, breathe in the fresh Upper Peninsula air, and admire our glorious views of the sunrise over the majestic Keweenaw Bay. Our retreat has 18 acres for you to stroll at your leisure. Or, to simply relax on the deck, unwind, and read a good book while overlooking Keweenaw Bay.
Whether you’re visiting to get away from it all, or you’ve rented the entire retreat for a family or business retreat, we’ll do all we can to ensure your stay is ideal.

Amazing stay

Had a really wonderful stay at the house at. It was spacious clean organized, comfortable secured. The views are amazing. The pool was wonderful. The hot tub was hot. Everything about the vacation was great. Couldn’t ask for a better house to house a family of 11. Great communication with the owner.

Lovely location

We enjoyed our stay at la Rose. The hotub and sauna were a great treat as the weather was rainy and cold. The view is beautiful and the owner was very quick to respond to our questions. Overall a delightful stay.

Beautiful, relaxing retrat

Our group came to LaRose Wellness Center to Refresh and Renew after the holidays. It was the perfect space to relax, be nourished and connect deeply with ourselves and each other. The sauna was hot, kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable and the view was spectacular! Looking forward to return trips!

Relaxing

This was exactly what we needed. The views were breath taking. The location is about 25 minutes outside of Houghton. Waking up to vies of Lake Superior every morning was a breath of fresh air. If we make it back to the Houghton area we will defitry to stay here again.

Wedding Getaway

LaRose Wellness Retreat was absolutely stunning and surpassed all of our expectations. My now husband and I came up from Wisconsin two days before the ceremony and got to enjoy relaxing in the hot tub, by the lake, and around the fire before hosting our wedding on the property. Our guests raved about the beautiful views and we couldn’t agree more. Cheryl was kind and clear with all communication. We look forward to coming back and reminiscing on the start of our forever in such a beautiful place!

Absolutely beautiful family vacation!

My extended family stayed here for 6 days for vacation and had a blast. Host was extremely helpful leading up to the trip, and remained in communication and reachable throughout. The house is stocked with more supplies than we were expecting, and for 10 adults and 5 children we had ample space (the main limiting things being fridge space, indoor dining space (for the one rainy day) and baths, as one tub was not working at time of stay). Between the pool, hot tub, large yard (steeper hill down to the lake than we expected from the photo perspective), BEAUTIFUL personal Lake Superior wading pool, kayak-able shoreline, hikes in the area, and nearby beach+playground (just a short drive south), we were not short on things to keep both kids and adults busy. Our biggest complaint was the flies, which was a seasonal unavoidable thing! Would stay again—If you haven’t visited the bay side of the south superior shore, this is the place to check it out!

Perfect Remote Getaway

We took a friends trip to Cheryl’s property and it was wonderful! The house is on a beautiful slice of heaven, with a sweeping yard overlooking the bay. The pool is very nice (and heated!). The hot tub/ sauna wing of the house is so special. We particularly enjoyed the view of Lake Superior from the window by the hot tub. There are tons of special touches in the house that make it feel so welcoming. The rock painting station, the record player, the cozy TV room, and of course the back porch overlooking the water. Cheryl lives on a separate house on the property and she was super responsive and helpful via chat. The house is VERY private, but an easy 20 minute drive to all types of creature comforts (groceries, restaurants, chain retail). This was my first time in the UP and I am SO glad we chose this place. Thank you Cheryl!

Large Home in a Beautiful Location

My extended family recently spent a week at LaRose and loved our stay. The location was ideal for visiting Houghton, Copper Harbor, Marquette and Porcupine Mountains areas. The house was very large - at one point there were 13 of us and everyone had a bed. After running around all day visiting waterfalls and parks we would return to the house and have time to enjoy the pool, hottub, sauna or kayak in Lake Superior. The views were amazing. Our teens even woke up a few early mornings just to see the sunrise on Lake Superior. Cheryl was wonderful, never bothersome. She came a couple of times to check the pool and hottub but always let us know ahead of time so there were no surprises. We have all recommended LaRose to our friends and anticipate a return visit to the home ourselves. Thank you for sharing your lovely home Cheryl!!

Cheryl was an amazing host. We had the house to ourselves but if anything was needed she was only a text away. The property was beautiful and perfect for a getaway weekend.

Beautiful View

The views alone are amazing! Would highly recommend. Only note I would make is there are some breakables around and we had some small children and had to put up a lot of things so they didn't get broken (Sorry we didn't know where to put them back, so just left on the mantle.) Otherwise house was great for large gathering and enough room that we weren't on top of each other. Massage by Kris was amazing and would definitely recommend. Would for sure rent again for future stays. Thanks Cheryl!

Lake Superior/Copper Country

We had a great week! The view is terriffic, the weather was agreeable and there is much to see and do on the peninsula. The house and property were enjoyable. Kids loved the pool. Everybody loved the hot tub. We all fit around the table. The only one thing not as comfortable was a building right by the pool that sometimes had strangers working around. Not a good feeling for our teens who were swimming. The storm doors also don't close real tight sometimes and some screens were loose so there were flies that bothered in the house at times. Overall a great week!
