About this property

Castle Villemorien

Elegantly furnished and very comfortable, this 18th century castle will delight lovers of old houses. Combining the charm of yesteryear with modern comfort, its Burgundy stone, fireplaces and antique furniture give it a unique atmosphere.

Its spectacular courtyard, its water circulation and its impenetrable coppice woods add to the majesty and charm of the place.

The Château de Villemorien is a haven of peace where you can relax peacefully.

7 bedrooms for two people in the castle (5 with privative SDB) + an independent lodging ("the house of the coachman") for 4 pers.

The main castle has a basement (vaulted cellars, cooler), a ground floor with a series of reception rooms, extended by a wing housing the living rooms. The 5 main bedrooms are on the first floor, the children's rooms are located in half-floors suitable for hide-and-seek games.

The north wing of the castle, which communicates with the central body, includes an entrance, a small TV room, a dining room, an office, a toilet, a large kitchen, a scullery, a pantry, a staircase going up to a double room with a private bathroom with bath and separate WC (the Secret Chamber).

The central body of the castle organizes around the main entrance.
South of the main entrance is the library, then the music room, a lounge, a large red living room opening onto a terrace with colonnades on the south side. At the back of the living room, west side, a vestibule also opening onto the terrace, a lovely boudoir, a staircase accessing a half-floor children's room.
North of the main entrance: a living room classified as a historic monument, "the sanctuary of madness" directed by Hubert Robert, being restored, converted into a large dining room, and a billiard room. At the back, west side: a hallway and clearances, a back staircase leading to the first floor.

The main staircase leaves from the entrance to take you to the first floor, which includes 4 large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Two toilets are in the corridor.
The Blue Room is equipped with a double bed of 160 cm in alcove, and a dressing room of a bathroom with shower.
The Golden Room includes two single beds of 90x200 convertible into a large double bed of 180x200, a bathroom with shower and a dressing room.
The Green Room offers two single beds of 90x200 convertible into a large double bed 180x200, a large dressing room with wardrobe and shelves and a bathroom with bathtub.
The Chambre des Fleurs is equipped with a double bed 160x200 alcove, a dressing room and a bathroom with spa bath.

The house of the coachman is an independent housing, located in the common, which includes: a porch furnished with an outdoor living room, a living-dining room with a sofa bed for two people, a kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed, a separate toilet, a dressing room, a bathroom with bath. It can accommodate 4 people.

A ping-pong table, outdoor games (croquet, molkky, petanque, ...), exploring the woods of the castle where you can cross deer or rabbits, maybe a doe, bikes for children and adults are all available at the Château.
A catering service can also prepare and deliver breakfasts, meals and dinners for all guests (on request and at an additional cost).

Place both charming and functional, the neighborhood and the village are very quiet. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful, in the heart of the French countryside and the Champagne vineyards of the "Côte des Bar", in the south-east of the Aube department, near Bar-sur-Seine.

Erected in the middle of a splendid park of 13 hectares including wood and gardens, the Castle of Villemorien, classified Historical Monument, invites to the dreaming, the rest and the discovery of the art of living and the wealth of the region.

The region is rich in tourism resources and activities. The tourist office of Bar-sur-Seine will be happy to present them to you and to organize, if you wish, visits (with or without guide) of the different monuments and remarkable sites, as well as tastings in Champagne cellars, cooking workshops ...; it will also show you the addresses of local producers and the resources of restaurants and inns. Full documentation will be available at the Château.

Spectacular!
If you want the Bridgerton experience this is for you! Amazing castle and couldn’t have asked for more. Hélène and her husband were the ultimate property owners; kind, friendly, helpful and inviting. An absolute experience of a lifetime! 10/10 would go again and I can’t wait for the pool!
