Hallo ,my name is Paola and I live on the ground floor of Villa Dufour Berte , The villa was built by my grand father , Marchese Donato Dufour Berte soon after the war in the place of an old Mediaval Tower which was his family home and which had been destroyed during the second war . Luckily a lot of the beautiful furniture that my gradfather's family owned were saved and carefully restored and when I inherited the villa I tried to keep all these treasures in perfect order. Living in the apartment on the top floor will give you the feeling of how an aristocratic family of last century used to live: in spaciuos rooms , refinedly decorated, among which a formal living room where guests were always welcomed. In this lving room , my sisters and I , as children, used to find our Christmas tree and Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve.
I really hope you'll like to share this family place with us

Why they chose this property

Londa is a pretty village at the entrace of a famous national Park :The National Park of Casentino Forests. It is surrounded by green Hills and has a lovely lake where fishing is allowed. You can walk around the lake and from there , if you like hiking, you can find many trails that once were the paths along which the people living above Londa reached the village.
The region around Londa is part of Il Mugello which was the cradle of the Medici family and which still preserves some of their famous castles: Catello di Cafaggiolo, Castel del Trebbio. Florence is the biggest town nearby , but other little country towns as Vicchio , Scarperia , Borgo San Lorenzo are worth a visit . Each of them has something special to offer . . All the arrea is also famous for Etruscan settlements and in Dicomano , the nearest village to Londa, there's a little .but well- equipped museum with Etruscan finds.
There is a variety of restaurants in the area , usually family run , which offer simple Tuscan homemade food. However cooking at home , using the fresh vegatables and other local produce, ,cold cuts , meatand cheeses that you can find in the local shops will be a pleaasnt experience.
