WAYFARERS REST Amazing sea view! Private estate on seafront.

Stunning second floor apartment in converted edwardian house on the seafront. Plenty of parking available on the private road.
Fabulous location with wonderful coastal walks in either direction. Ten minutes walk to Joss Bay to the left, or 30 minutes walk to Broadstairs town to the right. There is also access to the beach below via steps only accessible with a key provided to estate residents.
The apartment itself has a beautiful fitted kitchen with breakfast bar looking out to sea, spacious and comfy lounge/diner, again with sea views. The master bedroom has a Jack and Jill ensuite bathroom with bath and walk in shower. The second bedroom has twin beds and arguably the best view of all. There's also a balcony off the hallway if you want to take in some fresh sea air.
Broadstairs is a beautiful unspoilt gem with its golden sandy beach and harbour arm. Broadstairs has it's own micro climate and often avoids the worst of the weather. Even in winter you can often find a sheltered spot to sit outside and enjoy a coffee.
Margate and Ramsgate are both worth a visit as they both have their own vibe and something different to offer. Historic Canterbury is less than 25 minutes by train, or 40 minutes by car.

Beautiful apartment in a wonderful location

The apartment was impeccably clean and very well equipped, lots of lovely touches including supplies in the fridge when we arrived. The location is great, amazing views and a lovely walk along the beach into Broadstairs. I hope we will be back!

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful place. The owners, Barry and Gaynor, are lovely people, helpful and accommodating. The apartment is warm and cosy, and spotlessly clean. Décor and furnishings are high quality with attention to detail. Stunning sea views from balcony, windows, and skylights. Thoughtful touches included a Christmas tree for our stay during the Christmas period and some provisions waiting in the fridge. Great for coastal walks and restaurants in Broadstairs. We definitely recommend this little gem.

A lovely stay

We have just returned from a lovely 3 day, last minute break at Wayfarers Rest. The apartment was spotless and we wanted for nothing, it was like being at home …… actually, it’s probably nicer! Gaynor and Barry were wonderful hosts, so accommodating, welcoming and they had thought of everything. The welcome pack on our arrival was lovely. Thank you for having us and we can’t wait to visit again soon.

Perfect stay

Really friendly welcome and tour of the property. Lots of nice bits in the fridge so we had the basics. The views over the cliff and sea were remarkable and we saw some lovely sun rises. The flat was immaculate and well finished to a high standard. Our sons loved the pinball table downstairs and were on it all the time. Highly recommended.

Fabulous stay

I can’t fault this accommodation. It has everything you could wish for. A lovely welcome awaited us. Also provisions in the fridge and a loaf of bread and biscuits which was very thoughtful. The apartment is spotless. Comfy sofas and very well equipped. A real home from home. The sea views and walks from the property were an added bonus.

Best family holiday in Broadstairs

The photos of this lovely holiday Home don’t do it justice – it is incredibly well appointed, super clean, and in a unique location where you have access to a really quiet beautiful beach. This is actually our second time going here – we’ve never been back to a place before as we normally like to try new places every year, but this place is too good to miss! Barry and Gaynor are wonderful hosts, they make sure you have everything you need but also give you total privacy. Location is also fantastic as although you can walk into Broadstairs you have all the coastal walks accessible to you, and you are super close to the other beaches of Broadstairs. I can’t rate it highly enough!

Herrliche Aussicht

Aus jedem Fenster sieht man das Meer, kann auch bei Ebbe direkt vom privaten Strand nach Broadstairs laufen. Ruhige Lage (kein Bäcker oder Restaurant im Viertel), nächstes Café ist in der Nachbarbucht Stone Bay. Alle Buchten in beide Richtungen gut zu Fuß zu erlaufen. Sehr erholsam. Ein Flipper im Flur beschäftigt die Kinder, ein Hotpot die Erwachsenen. Herrlich.

amazing stay at Wayfarers Rest

We feel so lucky to found by coincedent this amazing site at Thanet Island which was so cozy and splendid interior, but most of all we felt in love with the landlords of this little paradise.

Wonderful little spot for an escape! The flat itself was lovely - I Ioved the nautical decor and it was so quiet and peaceful. The area around is fantastic, and the access to the beach is an added bonus. Barry and Gaynor were also most welcoming and friendly. An absolutely fantastic spot all round

Our stay at Gaynor & Barry's lovely place was absolutely perfect! The apartment was cosy and fully serviced and it was very easy to drive to Canterbury to visit the catherdral. I highly recommend the accommodation!

Didn't need our car once we got there. We could walk to Broadstairs one way or to some lovely unspoilt bays the other. The apartment is well appointed with lovely nuatical themed furnishings. Welcoming host. I would certainly recommend.

Peaceful stay with lovely seaviews.

This property is really a home from home but with gorgeous seaviews from every room. Immaculately clean and comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen and all surprisingly spacious. The area is great for walks, and cycling. There is a nice cliff walk to Joss Bay a really good beach. Broadstairs town centre is a 30 minute walk away Or a short drive. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Picturesque cottage on the ocean

Absolutely stunning property and lovely hosts! Barry and Gaynor were a delight to speak with and were very helpful with any questions we had. They left us some breakfast foods in the fully stocked kitchen which was a surprise and it was delicious! Incredible panoramic ocean views from multiple rooms! Thank you so much for welcoming us into your home. Our stay was very relaxing, peaceful and just an incredible experience.

Hidden gem

My husband described this as a ‘hidden gem’ and I totally agree!! Barry and Gaynor made it a really special weekend away for us with the kids - lots of little touches that mean the kids are still talking about it now (pinball machine!!) The private access to the beach was fantastic- even on an August bank holiday weekend we had the beach to ourselves a lot, we swam every morning and even saw a seal! The property itself is fantastic- clean, really well fitted out, amazing views and so quiet. Only 15mins walk to Stone Bay or Joss Bay, maybe 20-25mins to Viking Bay; basically, you’ve got it all on your doorstep. We’ve done many weekends away at seaside towns along the south coast, this is the first time we both said “we’ve got to come back”. Thank you Gaynor and Barry, we loved it.

Beautiful accommodation with absolutely magnificent sea views. The apartment is so relaxing and very comfortable with everything needed for your perfect stay. Secret access to private beach. Outstanding

We had a great stay at Barry and Gaynor‘s. We loved the tastefully decorated apartment (which was spotlessly clean), the wonderful view from all the windows, the great hosts and we were really happy about being that close to the beach (private entry through the cliffs included). The kids were enthusiastic about the hot tub and the pinball machine. We highly recommend the flat and if we ever go back to Broadstairs, we will definitely book the flat again.
