The Parkwood Tree House - a Funky, Adorable Getaway Near Asheville!
This funky, Asheville-style house started its life as a local artisan's workshop where he produced hand-crafted dulcimers, banjos, and his special brew of local "mountain dew" in the basement. Freshly converted into a beautiful home, it's tucked in a safe, nice, mixed working-class neighborhood 8 minutes from downtown Asheville. Large windows and spacious decks with wooded views make this a uniquely peaceful oasis equally close to the fun of the city and the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

The Treehouse is conveniently located near Asheville right off of the interstate. We saw deer, turkey, and a hawk in the backyard. The communication with the property owner was timely. There were a couple of light bulbs burned out and he sent someone over the next day to replace them. The only issue was the inefficiency of the washer/dryer combo. It washes extremely small loads of laundry, however it did not dry my clothing.
Had a great visit! Short Drive to downtown Asheville, UNC-Asheville
and the breweries. Some highlights were a drive to Chimney Rock, White Duck taco shop, Asheville Brewery and Catawba brewery! High tub is well taken care of. We did not have extra towels left as mentioned in the guide but just used the bath towels. Upstairs bed is not the comfiest but we managed.
Definitely recommend staying at this property.

Very Asheville
I really enjoyed my stay at The Parkwood Tree House. The location was close to downtown but felt very private. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but it is surrounded by trees and the balconies overlook the woods. The space was very clean and well kept.

Cute but ...
Very cute and spacious home in quiet but upkept neighborhood. Had issues with front door lock at arrival and during the week when it locked us in (had to go out bottom level without locking as no key initially). Smoke alarm went off even after we replaced batteries - finally had to disconnect it. Washer/dryer combo is located in a bad spot so very difficult to load/unload. No real TV - antenna didn't work so only had Roku. Couldn't control temp in hot tub so limited use as stuck on 106 degrees. Ending on a positive note, the fireflies were fun to watch outback.

Lovely house!
Close to town and very responsive host. Really cute place. Just be careful when you're doing laundry...positioned over the steps in a cubby and you have to be something of an acrobat to use it. Also, only eating space for a family is on the back deck...great for sunny weather but not usable in rainy weather (a retractable awning could resolve this problem).
The speed with which the owner responded to any issues makes this a 5 star recommendation.
