About this property

Wine Country Home

3 BR/2BA wine country home on ½ acre in Larkfield (an enclave on the northernmost border of Santa Rosa). The home is perfectly located for all that Sonoma County has to offer. Situated in an older, private neighborhood walking distance to a market, restaurants, coffee, nail salon, and a neighborhood dive bar! Ring doorbell at exterior of home at front door.

This is a perfect location and home for a family getaway, a girls weekend or anybody who likes their “home base” to provide an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, and a huge great room for hanging out and enjoying family and friends. Come home after a day of wine tasting, attending a wedding, or sight seeing all that Sonoma County has to offer…Fire up the grill in the outdoor kitchen, open the wine, turn on the music and just relax. Later, when it is time for dessert, start a fire in the fire pit (bring your bottle of wine with you!) and make the S’mores you have saved room for all day! The backyard lawn provides enough space for a pick-up game of wiffle ball, horse shoes, or croquet.

Indoors, the great room is a totally open concept with sitting area, dining area and kitchen with a large granite bar and barstools. If you decide to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped and your friends and family can keep you company at the bar while you prepare the evening dinner.

The bedrooms provide one king and two Heavenly™ beds with high thread count linens.

Delightful weekend in wine country!

This is the second time I have used Laura’s house as our home base for a wine county weekend and I am already planning our next visit. The home is incredibly comfortable for gathering with friends and family with its great indoor and outdoor spaces. The house is also immaculate, something that is very important to me. This time we flew in and out of Santa Rosa airport and the house is just minutes away. Super convenient. We’ll be back soon.

Already planning our next visit!

This house was perfect for a girls weekend with my 3 friends from B School. The home was even lovelier than the pictures with so many comfortable seating areas to just chill out with friends (inside and outside). It was conveniently located for wine tasting and just a short scenic drive from Napa too. We found a Trader Joe’s and Starbucks nearby. Laura was super responsive and really great to work with. We texted her the first morning that we couldn’t find the tea kettle, she apologized that it was supposed to arrive the same day as us and sure enough by mid afternoon that same day it was on our door step. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We are already planning the next trip and hope this tome to leverage the outdoor kitchen and fire pit.

This house was perfect for the three couples who wanted a wine country getaway. Great location, large kitchen and family and great hangout locations.

Loved the great room.

This house needs a little TLC, but we really enjoyed the great room. There is no freezer in the house for ice and no washer or dryer access. Since the family lives there, we had no closet space.

Nice home base for touring wine country, but dusty

Pros: Good location, near Healdsburg and Russian River Valley. Went running several mornings on nearby roads with vineyards on each side. Good kitchen with everything we needed. Nice-sized family room with enough seating for the 3 couples we had. Covered patio was also nice, although we didn't spend much time out there. Communication with owner was good. Cons: The home wasn't cleaned very well. Floors were the biggest issue - looked like they hadn’t been swept in a couple of weeks, and the corners in several rooms had collected dust and hair and occasional spider webs. The patio furniture needed a good vacuuming as well. Outside entrance to home had cobwebs around the door and roof, so not a great first impression.

Great Property, Great Location... but suggestions for renters

First off the property was great, and from the start the owner was great, she even made it so we can check into the property hours early which saved us a big headache. The property was as described, with a huge yard, nice kitchen, and out door kitchen, the fire pit wasn't really usable as it the chairs were very dirty, with lots of spider webs, but not a huge deal, but a little disappointed. The issue, which I will give an brief overview, as its rather long. A wine opener was broke, and allegedly, a curtain rod was "bent" and pulled from the wall, as one of the couples put a blanket over it, because they did not block out any light. I notified the owner of the wine opener, and found a similar one which I offered to order and ship. I was notified of the wall, with pictures. 3 days of back and forth messaging, asking me what I think was fair, and not giving any input or opinions, I did my research on the curtain rod, and a handy man, and offered a dollar amount to be taken out of the deposit. After that I received one reply, which was I am going to take "x" out of your deposit. This was more than I offered, and then communication was cut off after that and the money was taken out of the deposit, I suggest having the owner meet you with a signed contract, at the beginning, and end of the rental. As I was charged almost 3 times as much for the "repairs" compared to everything I found online. . The situation was not handled professionally, and I was more than willing to work with the owner. Even though everyone I showed the pictures too, said I offered way to much, but I wanted to leave the situation in a good place and make things right. In the end, the place is a great house, walking distance to gas station and local dive bar. Close to wineries, plenty of room in the back for games. My wife and I even talked about renting it again in the future. But obviously not now, Don't let it stop you from renting here, just do your part to make sure you are protected.

Excellent accommodations. Very comfortable.

The front of the house definitely doesn't seem like much, but when you step inside, it's such a beautiful space. The host was also very gracious and accommodating. Thank you!
