Gorgeous gem just south of town
We booked this property as a last-minute family vacation over the winter break. Jeff was flexible and easy to communicate with; response time was quick. He ensured that we were "good to go" when we arrived and checked in and we were! Garza Blanca resort is gorgeous; it is south of town and fairly secluded with the mountains behind and a stunning view of Los Arcos, the bay and town. It was very easy to get to town by taxi and we also used the town bus which dropped us right in front of the hotel property. The staff was so gracious and helpful; the property was very well taken care of; and we never felt "crowded" even though the property was almost at capacity. The tours from the property are a MUST DO - we did the hike to the waterfall and the kayak tour to Los Arcos with snorkeling. The guides were informative and helpful with alot of personality. Although my Spanish is very basic, their English is so well-spoken which was helpful when I couldn't do the quick translation! The pools were big and it was fun to see kids playing in them and the beach was easily accessible. We also used the SUPs which was easy to do (no waiting around, no broken equipment) Traveling with 3 teenage boys we did do the all-inclusive for a few days and the food was delicious and the portions perfect size (so we didn't "overeat")! We tried all of the main restaurants for each meal and there was a variety of cuisines to choose from so we never felt like we were eating the same thing. Our 2BR, 3 bath suite room was amazing - a perfect size for traveling with kids. The balcony was huge with hammock for lazing in and a hot tub for soaking in under the stars. A great place for families, large groups and romantic and quiet enough for couples!
