This spacious home features a large living room, a dining room that seats 8, a family style kitchen, bonus room with washer/dryer and air hockey, front and back deck for full views of Mt. Shasta, and gas BBQ outdoors. It is located on a quiet street, only a short walk to downtown and only 5 miles to Mt. Shasta Ski Park entrance.

Great for a calm getaway

Great little house for our winter getaway. Beds were a bit firm for me and the wife kids had no problems with them. That was our only gripe and it’s just a personal preference. Didn’t put a damper on our stay though as it was nothing a hot shower in the morning couldn’t take care of. Quaint little house in a quiet neighborhood.

Perfect little spot!!

This is a great house for family to enjoy a get away!! Only a few minutes from Mt. Shasta for snow play which is why we were visiting! We will be back again!

Wonderful family weekend in McCloud

This property was an ideal getaway for our family. Its amenities and central McCloud location allowed us to relax, play indoor and outdoor games, and stroll around the town exploring. Our teenagers even put down their phones!

Very spacious, very clean, sheets and towels very course, lots of extra supplies. TV lacked correct control and was unusable as was the streaming service.

Everything we needed

Every year members of my family meet in McCloud for a week of fishing. In years past we would stay at the cabins in the campground, however the boys turned to men and we needed more room. This home was perfect for us. Clean, relaxing and convenient. Will definitely stay here again.

Another great stay in McCloud

We have made the Mountain House our HQ for annual fall fly fishing trips repeatedly. Why? The house is clean and comfy, with a laundry room that’s perfect for drying wet fishing gear, it’s conveniently located near some of the best fly fishing in California, McCloud has some great eating options, and the property manager is extremely flexible and responsive. We’ll be back!

Charming home!

Excellent time staying with family and 2 dogs. The home was delightful and well appointed in a quiet neighborhood. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the mattresses or at the very least add a medium thickness foam pad. This is simply a matter of taste and my daughter and I are picky about quality mattresses. My son slept in the back room and was fine, yet he is an avid outdoorsman and could sleep fine on the sidewalk. My daughter is disabled and I am 70 yrs old...so it is just a matter of preference. The home and hosts are wonderful. The Mountain House is warm and cozy with everything you could possibly want and more. Obviously a lot of love put into this sweet home. We loved and appreciated it. Thank you so much!

Cute and Comfortable House

We enjoyed our stay at the house with room for us and for our son and his family (including 2 grandsons), as a base for skiing at Mt Shasta. We found the house to be very comfortable. The boys were able to watch Disney movies on the large flat screen television. The kitchen is not fancy, but we were able to prepare meals easily. The coffee machine and hot water pot were appreciated and used for coffee and tea. The McCloud Market is a well stocked grocery store within walking distance, as are several cute stores and restaurants. It was nice to have mounted dispensers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the baths. The shower head in the stand-alone shower is situated rather low, which my short wife thought was great. The biggest negative was that the air hockey table that the grandsons were looking forward to playing didn’t work. The expected gas grill was likely buried under snow and ice somewhere behind the house, so could not be seen or used. We cooked the steaks in the kitchen and turned out great. We would be happy to return in the future and would recommend this as a nice place to stay.

We are an outdoor family of 6 that has fallen in love with McCloud and all surrounding towns. We have 4 grown sons that grew up camping, hiking, riding, skiing, and fishing McCloud. We recently purchased The Mountain House from a great family who had owned the home for 65 years.

Why they chose this property

This home has such rich history and love. We fell in love with the house because of the views and proximity to downtown, hoo hoo park, Mount Shasta Ski resort, and many more.
