From the tranquility of the property it is approximately 10 minutes drive to the stunning medieval market town of Sarlat la Caneda, one of the cultural, architectural and gastronomic highlights of The Dordogne.

If you want to leave the car behind there are excellent cycling routes throughout the area. In fact, from the centre of the village you can cycle directly to Sarlat along the easy-access Piste Cyclable (cycle path) that has been created using the old railway line - fabulous, peaceful, safe and it even has its own bridge across the Dordogne river.

We try to provide an environment of peace, comfort and relaxation. But, if you’re looking for things to do, this area is known as The Golden Triangle. Within a 15-45 minute radius are stunning villages such as La Roque Gageac, Domme, Beynac, Castelnauld, Les Eyzies, Rocamadour, many stunning medieval chateaux, world famous prehistoric caves (including Lascaux), Troglodyte villages, balloon flights, horse riding, canoeing, fishing, swimming, golf, paintball, clay pigeon shooting, parkour, superb restaurants, boat trips, medieval villages, day & night markets, stylish shopping and stunning gardens / attractions to visit.

Our Domaine du Champ Bas properties are newly listed. We will provide you with a great location and environment for your holidays and hope that you will provide us with great reviews after you leave us.

We recently chose this wonderful part of France to live in and once you visit, we would not be surprised if you wanted to do the same. We look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy our beautiful and friendly community as much as we do.

Beautiful and characterful gite in an ideal location

Such a lovely stay in this beautiful gite. Extremely well and thoughtfully equipped it felt like a real home from home! The swimming pool was fabulous and our pre-teen kids loved it! The addition of a jacuzzi and sauna for the sole use of our gite was such a bonus. Finally, the location is perfect for exploring the Dordogne and our hosts, Helene and Scott, couldn't have been more helpful. Can't wait to go back!

English version What a wonderful stay! The cottage is perfect for a family (parents + 2/3 children), nothing is missing in the house (in terms of kitchen / bed / pool equipment) and we feel that the cottage has been designed for a family with children. Everything is secure for the little ones (upstairs barrier, secure swimming pool, high locks) and games are available for them (table football, ping pong, swing ...). The swimming pool is perfect, very relaxing, the spa area also for the glycine cottage. The cottage is ideally located, by car 10 minutes from the entrance to Sarlat, 2 minutes from local shops, 3 minutes from a pond with beach. All rather in the countryside (calm) Good WIFI access + bluetooth speaker. The stay would not have been so perfect without our hosts, Helen and Scott, very kind, discreet and always listening to us with a perpetual desire to help us. The arrival is very good, a descriptive document of 20 pages is sent before arrival, and the hosts are present on arrival to visit the premises. We greatly enjoyed this stay.

About the host

Having spent 5 years overlanding around Africa, camping in our Land Rover, we decided not to return to live in the UK but to settle in this most beautiful part of France.

Why they chose this property

We looked at hundreds of properties throughout the region - some very grand, some very humble. From the moment we first viewed La Domaine du Champ Bas nothing else compared. The properties are comfortable, simple and charming. The region is simply beautiful, the landscape is wonderful and the people are friendly.

What makes this property unique

This is the place to get away from the rat-race. We can accommodate large family groups but allow each to have some privacy. You can unwind in a beautiful rural location within a stone’s throw of some of the most fabulous locations, attractions and activities in France.
