In the XIX century Jean Pineau was an illustrious French winemaker who revolutionized the elaboration and preservation of traditional Rioja winemaking. I have lived in our house in Elciego in the Basque Country of
Spain.
Casa Jean Pineau is a unique place to stay - a house decorated in the French style, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a library, a kitchen and Juliet balconies. Breakfast and a wine bottle are included.
Elciego is a village not far from El Camino de Santiago where you can enjoy wine, gastronomy and architecture - Renaissance and Baroque buildings, as well as one of Frank Gehry’s innovative designs.
Local activities that are available include: wine tours, tasting courses, cooking classes, visits to dolmens and menhirs - the megalithic vestiges of prehistoric Spain - hiking, biking, kayaking, canyoning, caving, Basque ball, balloon rides and more.
