Etended family getaway

Beautiful, spacious apartment overlooking Funchal and cruise ships in the port. Hosts were gracious in providing eggs, milk and coffee for our first breakfast. Short walk into Funchal town. Private parking space for the rental car in a secure garage was ideal.

Boys outing

Super place. Been to Madeira many time some years ago. With it being four friends together the apartment was the best way. Was great, super views, super restaurants, nice pool. So all was just right. Thank you!

Terrific Stay!

Apartment is very spacious (much more than 2 of us needed, but it was really wonderful). The balconies (and views) are lovely, the place is very well equipped, beds very comfortable, and the location is fantastic! Great exercise walking up the hill after days spent hiking and exploring this beautiful island. Our host was extremely responsive and very helpful with answers to any questions we had. We highly recommend this apartment.

Funchal

We were very happy with the apartment. Our only complaint was the lack of toilet paper. We ran out 24 hours before our departure. The promised delivery did not happen. The florescent lights in the kitchen need 3 new bulbs so it was a bit dark. One of the deck chairs is broken so we were unable to use it. Otherwise, we had a great time, loved the pool and location and it was very clean. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay for 5 nights.

Beautiful apartment fantastic host

First: this apartment is beautiful with great views. Was it perfect? No- but the host made up for any issues with immediate responses and going the extra mile to fix what was wrong. We travel a lot and Claudia is the best host we have encountered. The apartment felt like home.

Marvellous property

Don’t know where to begin. The apartment was as advertised, comfortable, clean. The host was super friendly and check in/check out was seamless. The view of the harbour from the deck was fantastic. As each day we watch the cruise ship sale in and the next day sale out.

Great place overall

Overall a great place that was as described. Tons of room, and very nice. The location was great and a pretty short walk to old town. Claudia was super responsive and easy to deal with. There are only two things to be aware of with this place. The first is that there is a new building being built right in front of it - they've just started the groundwork. This means that there is heavy equipment construction that is very loud from 8am to 530pm Mon - Fri. The second is that we were there in mid April and it already got quite hot in the bedrooms and they have no AC in them - especially the second floor bedroom. In the middle of summer I suspect they will be really really hot.

Bring toilet paper

We stayed four days and were given three small rolls of toilet paper on the first day. That was only a minor challenge getting an extra set of keys. There’s a pretty good leak out of the toilet in one of the hallway bathrooms. Despite alerting the landlord, she did not seem to worry about Have repaired, anyone slipping or any damage. You need to bring your own tissues if you ever need to wipe your nose as there may not even be enough toilet paper

No view! and under construction!

NOT AS ADVERTISED! When we arrived the owner/manager told us the apartment balconies were under construction for painting. We were suprised because she knew this 2 months before we arrived and never told us. We became shocked when men arrived on the balcony using scaffolding, tore down the railing and put up a black tarp. The construction had men on the balcony drilling and doing concrete work throughout our vacation. So the entire ocean view that was advertised was blocked with the balconies unusable and dangerous. Also the air conditioning was not working. It took 2 weeks for it to be fixed. Even once it was fixed, it was only in the front hall so the bedrooms were hot and humid making it very difficult to sleep. We were promised some reduction/refund but none has been given. We were trapped in this apartment for 22 days in high vacation season with no way of renting any alternative accommodation for our family. An extra note: Yes, we said there were 6 of us and forgot to tell her our son’s girlfriend was joining but we didn’t hide the extra person and told her we would pay if there was an extra person charge.

Baulärm und Vertragsbruch

Von Montag bis Samstag ab 8.00 Uhr bis 19.00 Uhr unerträglicher Baulärm auch bei geschlossenem Fenster, da direkt unterhalb des Balkons eine große Appartementanlage über mehrere 1000 qum gebaut wird. Voraussichtliche Bauzeit vermutlich 2-3 Jahre. Danach wird die schöne Aussicht um ca. 1/3 bis 1/2 eingeschränkt sein. Trotz rechtzeitiger Stornierung für 1 Person weigert sich die Vermieterin, die anteiligen 300 Euro (von über 3.500 Euro) zurückzuzahlen. Zuerst hat sie behauptet, dass der Preis sowohl für 5 als auch für 6 Personen identisch sei. Als ich sie auf ihre eigene Preisgestaltung (Grundpreis für 2 Personen und für jede weitere Person und jede Woche 150 Euro mehr) hingewiesen habe, teilte sie mir mit, dass die Preisgestaltung (die ja von ihr stammt!), "unfair" sei. Daher erstattet sie entgegen dem Vertrag nicht. Trotz korrekter Stornierung ist das Geld weg. Sie baut darauf, dass niemand einen Rechtsanwalt sucht, der sie verklagt. Mag sich jeder selbst überlegen, ob er unter diesen Bedingungen die in die Jahre gekommene Ferienwohnung bucht.

Très bon séjour

Un superbe appartement très bien situé dans Funchal. Nous étions 6 adultes avec assez d'espace chacun pour être à l'aise (attention, supplément de 20 € p/jour et par personne supplémentaire au delà de 4 occupants) La vue sur Funchal est superbe depuis les petits balcons (chambre principale et séjour). Des enceintes connectées vous permettent de diffuser de la musique. Le garage peut accueillir 2 voitures. Nous garderons un bon souvenir de notre séjour.

Tolle Wohnung in Fuchal mit Aussicht

Wir haben die grosse saubere Wohnung sehr genossen und können sie 100 % empfehlen. Alles war perfekt: ruhige Lage, tolle Aussicht, zwei schöne, sonnige Balkone, sehr nahe ( 5 Min zu Fuss) zu Restaurants, Geschäften, Promenade etc. grosser Pool, die Wohnung ist perfekt eingerichtet, es ist alles vorhanden, wir haben uns sofort wie zu Hause und sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder! Vielen Dank!

Best view of Funchal

What a view! This property is the best way to wake up, drink coffee and view the entire city with a large group. It was a perfect place for our entire family to enjoy the island together. Plenty of room, very clean and easy to walk to town. The location is stunning. We couldn't be happier. On a side note, Google Maps did not show the exact location so make sure to follow pictures and details on how to get in and be prepared to hike the short climb from downtown to the apartment- it's worth it. We highly reccommend this property!

Large and lovely property close to the city center

We were very impressed with this property. Large rooms, equipped kitchen, billiard table, 2 porches overlooking the pool and a view of the city. There is even a parking space in the garage! The property owner was easy to communicate with and we had no problems.

Great communication from owner

Sadly, our holiday was significantly affected by the restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 outbreak, meaning we barely left the apartment. However, it was as nice a place as we could have been 'stuck' in the circumstances. Claudia was very helpful with advice and recommendations, and we found the apartment to be spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen, three large, airy bedrooms, and so on. The online photographs are accurate, but if anything it is even better in real life. It is a short, downhill walk into the heart of Funchal and all amenities you would expect from a small city are close to hand. I would heartily recommend this accommodation and will be hoping to book a return visit in the near future.
