About this property

Host & Stay | Threadneedle Cottage

Summary:
Settled in the heart of Whitby, Threadneedle Cottage is a charming 2-bedroom holiday home with plenty of character.

Perfect for family holidays and getaways with friends, Threadneedle Cottage has everything you need for a stay on the North Yorkshire coast. With beautiful interiors, a fabulous central location and room for up to 4 guests, this stunning property will tick all of the right boxes!

The Space:
Threadneedle Cottage is packed with character and charm. The open plan living / kitchen area is a beautiful mixture of modern style and traditional features. With low beamed ceilings and a statement fireplace, the cottage is homely and cosy. This is contrasted perfectly with contemporary and classy furnishings.

The kitchen is equipped with an oven, fridge, microwave and toaster so you have everything you could need for your stay. Enjoy a delicious coffee on a morning as the kitchen area is complete with a coffee machine.

Enjoy family breakfasts or evening meals with friends at the dining table. Indulge in some me time and relax on the sofa with a good book. If you’d prefer to catch up on your favourite shows, switch on the flat-screen TV and kick back.

Head up the stairs and you’ll find the first bedroom and main bathroom. The bedroom is furnished to the highest standard with a large comfy bed, plush carpets and white wooden furniture. The tranquil space is the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring Whitby.

The main bathroom is stylish and modern with a spacious walk in shower.

Take the next flight of stairs and you’ll discover the second bedroom and en suite. In here, you’ll find the same stunning interiors as the rest of the house. The cool colour palette brings a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

The traditional wooden doors add character. Open the door to the left and you’ll find the en suite. In here, you’ll be welcomed by the same modern style and another large walk-in shower.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

We provide a parking scratch card for your stay which gives you free parking in the W zones

The Neighborhood:
Threadneedle Cottage is located in the centre of Whitby and you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs less than a 2-minute walk away.

The cottage is located along a small, charming street on the West side of Whitby. You’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.

Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around:
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just in a short walk from Threadneedle Cottage.

Whitby train station is around one minute away on foot so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Other Things to Note:
We welcome 1 small, well behaved dog.

We’re always available for our guests so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

clean and tidy but we had problem's

We arrived to find the electric radiators not working then found the hob and oven not working. Upon checking the fuse board found the fuses had tripped for the sockets, after resetting them things were ok until we went to bed and found the sockets for the bedside lights not working. the next morning found fuses tripped again, reset and within a few minutes it happened again. We then noticed water coming through the ceiling from the first floor bathroom. The Stairs are steep and and would be rather difficult to manage for anyone elderly and i feel should be mentioned when people book.
