About this property

This renovated residence in the heart of Sint-Jansrade has a beautiful location and access to an outdoor swimming pool. It is an excellent choice for families.

The gite is located in the charming village of Sint-Jansrade, with typical stone houses and a beautiful view over the green hills. The area is perfect for walks (Balades au Pays d'Aubel), mountain bike and horse riding. Visit cities such as Liège and Maastricht or go fishing at Pêcherie du Berg. The Siroperie Artisanale d'Aubel Nyssen tour is also very worthwhile. In the last 2 weeks of August, the annual village festival normally takes place next to the holiday home.

Unwind in the sauna or take a cooling dip in the outdoor pool located in the garden of the neighbors and owners. The pool is available for private use in the morning and afternoon. There are 4 bicycles at the disposal of the guests and on request you can take yoga lessons or opt for half board.

IMPORTANT : Swimming pool is open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., from June to September

For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters

We had a very pleasant stay here! The pool was great (though you can only use it between 10am-12pm and 2-4pm every day) and we got lucky with very sunny weather most of the week. The nature surrounding the house is beautiful, the supermarket a 5 min drive away and the host Laurent very helpful, answering our questions straight away whenever I texted him. Though the site said kitchen linen would be provided, be mindful of the fact that it’s 1 kitchen towel and you might want to take more with you (towels for the toilets and bathrooms too). The non-stick coating of some of the pans in the kitchen was coming off, so some of them should probably be replaced. But overall, there were enough utensils, cutlery, plates, etc. for our group of eight. We were there during the last two weekends of August, which is when the town festival happens (which we were properly warned about thanks to the hosts). If you’re debating whether or not to go during that time: there’ll be loud party music next door, with a bass that made our car alarm go off and the lights in the bedroom flicker, on Fridays and Saturdays until about 2 or 3am. As we didn’t go to bed much earlier than that most evenings, it was alright, but the last Friday before check-out it did bother us, and we didn’t get much sleep. The showers were great, the house was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The only real downside was the noisiness of the house. Half of the beds are in ‘open’ bedrooms, meaning there are no walls or doors between them and the living room downstairs. The other half are in a room above the kitchen, but despite that room having a door, you could hear everything that was said downstairs. So, if you’re traveling in a group that isn’t on the same sleep schedule, this might not be the right place for you. The house is, like others have already stated, a little dark. But it’s beautiful and the garden is absolutely lovely, as is the sauna. I think back on our week there fondly. Thank you!

Prima rustig gelegen vakantiehuis met heerlijke sauna, open haard en mooie vernieuwde badkamers. Veel mogelijkheden om wandelingen in de directe omgeving te maken. Stadje Aubel ligt op 4km en heeft voldoende winkels voor dagelijkse boodschappen. Luik, Maastricht en Aken liggen op een half uur rijden voor een dagje weg.

Geweldige locatie!! Wat was het mooi in de omgeving! Prachtig huis! Lekkere sauna! Overheerlijke appelsap uit eigen boomgaard! Fijn haardje in de woonkamer voor een gezellig knus vuurtje! Houd er wel rekening mee dat het 3 2-persoons bedden zijn en 2 enkele bedden dus als 3 stellen om minder dan 8 personen het huisje boeken is het beter en hoef je niet gezellig bij iemand in bed te slapen haha :P Verder hebben we echt genoten!

Het is een gezellig huis in een mooie omgeving. Heerlijk zwembad. Goed contact gehad met Laurent. Ik had via de app een vraag gesteld en toen belde hij om me te woord te staan en nog wat dingen uit te leggen. Hij gaf aan dat hij van tevoren altijd even met de gasten belt, dat is zeer attent en geeft je een warm welkom. Dit is mijn eerste keer dat ik via Belvilla een huis huur. Zeer tevreden hierover. Heb wel geleerd om beter de beschrijving te lezen. De laatste avond dreunden we ons bed uit ivm een feest dat naast ons gaande was en tot twee uur duurde. Achteraf stond het wel in de beschrijving dat in de laatste twee weken van augustus er een dorpsfeest is. Er was gelukkig niet elke avond tot laat muziek, maar is wel iets om rekening mee te houden. We hebben ieder geval een fijne vakantie gehad en het huis en de omgeving is zeker een aanrader.

Heerlijk huis, netjes gerenoveerd en van alle gemakken voorzien. Sauna super, gebruik van zwembad ook erg fijn! Rustige omgeving met van alles te doen. Enige minpunt zijn de ‘open’ kamers..weinig privacy daardoor en erg gehorig door open ruimtes. Wel genoeg ruimte. We genieten volop!

Charmant, karakteristiek huis in een landelijke omgeving. De sauna is top en handdoeken ed zijn aanwezig. De kinderen hebben genoten van het zwembad. De eigenaren hebben echt hun best gedaan met een uitgebreide informatiemap (met info over de omgeving) en ook nog een telefoontje vooraf.

Überwiegend empfehlenswert!

Sehr schönes Haus in einer schönen Gegend mit sehr schöner Sauna. Die Poolzeiten sind eingeschränkt, das sollte man sich vorher klar machen (wir hatten dies nicht gelesen): Laurent war aber gerne bereit, die angegebenen Zeiten zu verändern und insgesamt auch sehr freundlich. Der Zugang zum Pool ist insgesamt leider starkt reglementiert, da er überwiegend von den Eltern von Laurent benutzt wird und direkt vor deren Haus liegt. Deshalb gibt es ca. 20 Regeln für die Benutzung; und häufig war auch während unserer Benutzungszeiten der Reinigungsroboter aktiv, somit sollte man hier mit Abstrichen in der Benutzbarkeit rechnen. Auch gibt es nicht drei Schlafzimmer sondern nur eines mit vier Betten, die beiden anderen Räume sind offen mit dem Wohnraum (Wohnzimmer und Küche) verbunden, so dass man dort gestört wird, wenn die Schlafenszeiten unterschiedlich sind. Da es ein Haus mit vielen schönen alten Elementen ist, knarzen aber viele Stufen und Türen, so dass dies für die beiden "Räume" zusätzlich ungünstig ist. Die Waschmaschine ist vorhanden, leider wurde uns nicht gesagt, dass wir dafür hätten Bescheid sagen müssen, so dass wir sie nicht benutzen konnten (steht in einem abgeschlossenen Raum). Leider mussten wir den Aufenthalt wegen Corona kurz vor Ende abbrechen. Im Wesentlichen war der Aufenthalt positiv, am Besten ist das Haus unserer Meinung nach für 4 Personen geeignet und wenn man innerlich den Pool nur bedingt mit einplant.

Tuin en sauna zijn super, hebben we echt van genoten! Ook zwembad was top alleen spijtig van de losliggende tegels aan de rand! Het aanbod van de fietsen(goede staat) is pluspunt. Het huis zelf heeft niet aan onze verwachtingen voldaan, al zijn de 2 badkamers gerenoveerd blijft het huis aan meer renovatie toe. Het huis is erg donker(te weinig lichtinval) en er zijn niet voldoende degelijke keukenbenodigdheden. het huis is geschikt voor 6 pp maar niet voor 8. De bovenkamer is geen volwaardige kamer. Foto's weerspiegelen niet de werkelijkheid. Het bed in open ruimte is aan vervanging toe. Spijtig een gemiste kans want unieke locatie. Mits degelijke aanpassingen willen we elk jaar terug komen. We hebben genoten van onze week in Aubel, mooie rustige locatie, heel leuke wandelingen kunnen doen in de streek (Voeren, drielandenpunt, St-Jean-Sart). Na een stevige wandeling hebben we kunnen genieten van een ontspannen sauna met zicht op de tuin. De woning zelf is heel praktisch met twee mooie vernieuwde badkamers. Het enige minpuntje was dat de vorige huurders de vaat uit de afwasmachine vuil hadden teruggeplaatst in de kasten, snel verholpen en nadien 100% genoten.

Leuk huisje in prachtige omgeving. De vernieuwde delen zijn zeer in orde: douches, sauna’s en terras. Keuken en keukengerei zijn helemaal opgeleefd. Open haard die niet goed trekt. Spijtig. 2 mezanines die op elkaar uitgeven. Voor ons als gezin prima, maar hoe je dat doet met 8 volwassenen is ons niet duidelijk. Ondanks vermelding op de site is er geen kinderstoel aanwezig. Laurent is goed bereikbaar en zeer behulpzaam.

Zeer fijne aankomst bij het huis Le puits de Sint Jean : lichtjes in de tuin, binnen al warm gemaakt, bedden al opgemaakt. Fietsen bruikklaar in een fietsenrek aan het afgesloten terras : top! Aangenaam contact ook met Laurent, wat maakte dat we ons extra welkom voelden. We hadden dit weekend op sneeuw gehoopt, maar tevergeefs... Gelukkig maakte de voorverwarmde sauna dit ruimschoots goed ! Een aanrader wat ons betreft.

Stopcontacten die uit de muur kwamen, rails van de oven zaten Schots en scheef in de oven gemonteerd, gebarsten raam in de keuken, keukengerei is niet voldoende en afgeleefd om er een degelijke maaltijd te koken, slecht geïsoleerd huis (wind die onder de voordeur(groot raam) komt, chauffage non stop moeten laten opstaan + open haard om het warm te krijgen. Kamer met stapelbed geraakte niet warm (ondanks de verwarming die dag en nacht helemaal open gedraaid stond).

Het huis is rustig gelegen en toch centraal in het dorp; direct aan talrijke wandelwegen. Voorzien van alle comfort. Bedden waren gedekt bij aankomst. Tuin met lekker warme sauna heeft een hoog feeëriek gehalte wanneer de lampjes in de boom branden. 2 badkamers met mooie en functionele afwerking. Verhuurder niet gezien, maar reageerde heel snel via whatsapp op onze vragen. Keuken is goed uitgerust voor 8 personen.

Warme ontvangst gekregen door Laurent! Prachtige omgeving, gezellig huis met sauna in de tuin. De fles vers geperst appelsap was de kers op de taart: wij komen zeker terug.
