Great stay. Shame about the snow

The accommodation is great. Position great. Unfortunately the snow was far from ideal. However we still had a great time. Samoan is great.

Highly-recommend!

We loved with our stay in this apartment/chalet. It is ideal for six but easily fits two families of four. It is spacious, well-equipped (especially the kitchen) and in a good location for the village and access to the slopes. And very, very clean! Every room is finished to a really high spec and all the crockery, glassware, furniture, bedding etc. felt new and was of excellent quality. The place was really warm, no shortage of hot water (two showers) and with comfy beds and sofas. There is loads of storage space and unlike a lot of ski accommodation, you don't feel cramped and claustrophobic. The boot room below was perfect for storing skis and boots. The owners live underneath and were helpful and friendly and gave us some good tips. Definitely hope to return here as it is one of the best places I have stayed in since I started going on annual ski holidays over 20 years ago!

Fantastic location in Samoens - really close to restaurants and shops. Apartment was perfect t and very comfortable after a week long trek in the Dolomites. Andy and Kate were great hosts and we had everything we needed for a short stay. Tabitha

Brilliant location and facilities - with simply wonderful owners!

We have recently returned from a 4 night stay in this accommodation, and cannot recommend it highly enough. We had 4 adults staying, and there was plenty of room. The Chalet is well equipped and maintained - the beds in particular are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in! The chalet itself is cosy and perfect for chilling out in after a days skiing. The location is great - its about a 3 minute walk to the start of the town, which has plenty of great restaurants and bars. The owners, Andy and Kate, are so helpful and acccommodating, they are more than happy to give reccomendations and even phone and make reservations for you. Every piece of advise we received from them proved spot-on, from which bar to stop on the slopes for lunch, to where was showing the rugby in the evening and where to get the best pizza from! The skiing was also great. We hired skis from a shop (again reccommended by Andy and Kate) which is right next to the gondola (about a 10 minute walk from the chalet), meaning at the end of the day you only had to cross the road and you could leave your skis and boots in the shop overnight - no need to lug anything back to the chalet! You cannot ski back down to Samoens (you need to get the gondola) however we found the best thing was to ski down to the neighbouring town of Morillon (a lovely long blue run gets you all the way to the bottom here), have an apres beer in the bar literally at the bottom of the slope, and then get the free bus back to Samoens. The bus runs every 20 minutes, you can see the bus coming from the bar, and it's only 5 minutes once you're on it. It also drops you off right at the gondola, so again for us we only had to cross the road to drop off our skis and boots. The town is great - we were worried it might be a bit too quiet, and although it does seem more geared towards good dining than big drinking, there were plenty of options for bars and restaurants, and the pedestrianised centre of town is so beautiful, and lovely to walk through. Everything you could need was there. All in all, this was a perfect 4 day trip for us. Everything you could need, and all very simple and easy. Andy and Kate are the perfect hosts, and really do make the difference for people staying if you don't know the area. We will definitely be back!

Lovely chalet and owners, in a superb location😀

We found this chalet by chance and I am so glad we did. Last year we stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed ourselves so much that this year we went back for a month! The chalet itself is fitted out to a high standard with everything you need and some lovely personal touches to make you feel at home. We are a family of four and found we had plenty of room using 2 of the bedrooms. There is a spacious lounge with 2 sofas and a good size dining table, the kitchen is very well equipped and there is a good size main bathroom with additional shower room. There are also lovely views from the property to relax and enjoy. The owners Andy and Kate are very friendly and welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay perfect, including advice on the local area, and booking activities, restaurants etc if required. The chalet is conveniently located just a couple of minutes walk from town, which has everything you need including some lovely bars and restaurants. Samoens is a beautiful place, with so much to offer both summer and winter. Both of our visits have been in the Summer and there has been plenty to occupy us including hiking, white water rafting, horse riding, nice outdoor swimming pool, adventure climbing and excellent mountain biking trails, not to mention excellent food and drink. All we need to do now is book again!

Lovely house and people

Just back from 5 days in Samoens. The owners, Kate and Andy, could not have been more obliging and helpful. 5 of us shared the house which is extremely well located, spacious, comfortable and very well kitted out. Samoens is a really nice village with some very nice restaurants. Be sure to book early! Skiing was excellent but we got very lucky with a snow dump just before we arrived. Ronan

Great location

We stayed at the property for a short 3 night/4 day break and the chalet perfectly fitted our requirements. Great location, comfy beds and very helpful hosts! Andy and Kate were able to answer all our queries before and during our stay, we were able to get discounts for transfers and ski hire through them. We arrived lunchtime and they very kindly gave us access immediately to the chalet and even gave us a lift to the slopes (involving 3 separate trips) well beyond the call of duty! We also didn't leave until mid afternoon on our 4th day and they were very happy for us to leave everything in the chalet. All of this meant we were able to get maximum ski time and have a great holiday, thank you so much! We would love to come back!

Fantastic chalet in beautiful location

We stayed in Andy & Kate's beautiful chalet Mirabelle for a week over New Years. We arrived in the middle of the night after it had snowed for over 24 hours straight and woke up to a complete winter wonderland! But even without the amazing snow we still would have had a truly wonderful time in this beautiful chalet. The chalet is split into two independent flats with the top half being for the guests and Andy and Kate living on the ground floor. This was great as they were able to offer lots of brilliant advice on where to shop, hire skis, eat etc. Kate even supplied one of the members of our group with a heat pack when she hurt her kneel. Both Andy and Kate went completely above and beyond and did everything in their power to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There were 8 of us staying in the chalet and the place did not feel cramped. The dining table seats 8 people and the sofas are so so comfortable (possibly a bit too comfortable after a long day on the slops.. staying awake was sometimes a bit tricky). There are two bathrooms, one with a great power shower and the other with the biggest bath tub (and shower), perfect for soaking those tired legs after a hard day's skiing! The bathrooms are both brand new and were very clean and stocked with the softest towels. The kitchen is also brand new and is equipped with anything you could possibly need (including a dish washer). The bedrooms were perfect with extremely comfortable beds and very soft bed linen, we felt like we were staying in a very expensive hotel! There is a large balcony overlooking Samoens, the most stunning views especially when it's snowy! The chalet is centrally located, 5 minute walk (with ski boots) to the free ski bus stop, 5 minute walk to the centre of Samoens with plenty of amazing boulangeries, restaurants and shops of Samoens. There is a large Carrefour in Samoens which is actually quite affordable... if you've been to the Alps before you'll appreciate this is quite rare! Samoens has a gondola which takes you up to the Grand Massif with plenty of great runs for all abilities. Unfortunately, there's no run going back down into Samoens but you can ski down to Morillion and get the free ski bus back from there. You can also ski all the way to Flaine, the resort is a great size! Bit busy over New Years but you're meant to have the slopes to yourself for the rest of the year, so we'll definitely be back! I cannot recommend this chalet highly enough! 5 ****
