Fabulous location and quiet

Stayed here for a week and in April weather was a bit unpredictable and wet some days. However, we made the most of the lovely hot tub and surrounding areas for activities. Accommodation was perfect and had all you needed. Would highly recommend and we will be returning to st agnes!

Fab week

From start to finish the communication with Simon was great and he took time to pop round and check everything was okay Property up a short steep bank but the privacy this gives made it worth it Fantastic location for getting o rest of St Agnes and Peterville on foot, take coastal path to beach rather than quay road Hot tub was great as weather a little indifferent, good meals out at Peterville Inn and Taphouse nearby Great week and great host in Simon

Excellent place to stay!

We've stayed in St Agnes a few times now and Chy Mena was a fabulous property for our holiday this year. The owner was brilliant with communication in the lead up to the holiday (given the situation with Covid-19). The property is tucked away up a path but is a gorgoeus sun trap and very secluded, surrounded by trees. We willl definitely be back again at some point in the future. Many thanks The Blakes!

Fantastic holiday

Perfect accommodation, hot tub was great due to mixed weather. We loved the village of st Agnes, had delicious lunch at tap house just round the corner, fab pizzas which we ate on the beach at sunset from Cornish pizza co and lovely scones and pasties from st Agnes bakery. Beach and village are all 5-10 min walk and if you wanted to you could spend your whole week not driving anywhere as everything you need is in the village. Would recommend 3 mile walk to chapel porth along cliff top, visit to st ives on train from st erth park and ride and fabulous long sandy beach at Perranporth with drinks at the wAtering hole, perfect first holiday In Cornwall with kids!

Private and Well-Situated Lodge

The property was well situated - close to the beach and to many food-serving pubs. There was a steep walk from the car park to the lodge, but this didn’t bother us and we loved the privacy we got as a result of being at the top, surrounded by trees. We had a lovely relaxing time in this very private and well-situated lodge in a pleasant part of Cornwall.

Loved it!

The first day we arrived we were so impressed how central the lodge was, yes there was a hard walk to the lodge from the car park, but after the first day you realise all of Cornwall is as steep! so the first day is hard but it primes you up for the rest of your adventures and steep walking, everything becomes easier and easier, the lodge is brilliant, the hot tub is the fantastic, I don't think we can find anything negative to talk about! local restaurants and pubs were so friendly and welcoming. we loved the Petersville inn food out of this world and a good price. Highly recommend it. Our stay "BRILLIANT". Thank you. Ian &Denise Gunn Essex.

Lovely lodge, attractive decking and fabulous hot tub

The lodge is lovely and well equipped and it really is in a fantastic location. St Agnes is very hilly of course and the lodge is half way between the beach and the main town centre. Lots of places to eat, all very good quality so we didn’t try to eat in. My only criticism is that the furniture isn’t very comfortable, but the hot tub is fantastic. Simon is very friendly and helpful and responded very quickly to our queries. The beaches nearby are also gorgeous, especially chapel porth. We did several walks around the local area and the coastal path is stunning. Bring beach towels, we forgot and had to buy some. They came in handy for the hot tub as well though.

Quiet location, loads of places to visit in close proximity

Lovely place to stay in St Agnes. Quiet location, and lots of places to see within a short distance. Property is well maintained and quite adequate for a family of four. It's well equipped with up to date appliances (TV is a good size too!). We were met by a lovely lady who gave us a quick friendly tour of the house. We had a minor issue with the hot tub, but Simon popped up within 5 minutes and quickly resolved the issue. Great guy to talk to too! Definitely coming back to St Agnes, our favourite location in Cornwall so far! Only minor issues is is that it's a steep walk to the property.. will give your calves a good workout! Plus, although the decking area is a good size, there's not a great deal of space for kids to play in, i.e. not garden as such, but not an issue for us as we were out and about a lot. Overall we can thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

High spec compact comfort in a great location

We stayed here for a week at the start of the summer holidays, having glamped for several years with children it was a very welcome change to have a gorgeous big lodge with a tv in every room ,a powerful shower and a kitchen. The technology is quite impressive , mood lighting and a gorgeous hot tub. Great value quite frankly . The beds are all comfortable too and as a side sleeper that is not often the case. The climb up to the lodge is not for the feint hearted or those with mobility issues, but well worth it as you are then at tree level with complete privacy and can sit on the decking or in the hot tub with a glass of fizz and you could be anywhere - total bliss. If anything does happen - we had a warning light on the hot tub as the water level had dropped - the owner is on hand , responds straight away and sorts issues out with no fuss. The lodge is well equipped and I truly miss the speed of the convection electric cooker - it is better than at home ! Yes there could be more glasses but these are the hardest to keep on top off and probably the most often replaced. I would recommend this for families in school holidays and also couples looking for an off season romantic break. The lodge is very warm and cosy when cold and great for storm watching being so high up. The local beach is great for surfing and rock pooling and quieter than nearby Perranporth. The fact you can walk to an amazing pub, local brewery take away shop and a great chippy are just the icing on the cake . One of the even closer tea shops also does sundown cocktails . The village centre and the beach are both an easy walking distance. We have already rebooked both lodges for next year and are taking more family with us next time.

Hi. I'm Simon and have lived in the beautiful village of St Agnes nearly my whole life. I love the beach, kayaking and exploring different parts of Cornwall.

Why they chose this property

Chy Mena is in a great location, just minutes from pubs, bars and restaurants. For breakfast we recommend The Greenroom, which is located in Peterville just a couple of minutes walk away or Genki, just a few minutes walk down the hill. The Taphouse, Bear Bar are also located in Peterville which are great for lunch, and there's also a chinese restaurant and takeaway. If you head down the hill towards the beach, which is a 10 minute walk, we recommend the Driftwood Stars as nice traditional pub or Schooners overlooking the beach. Finally, there are more great pubs and restaurants in the village which is a 10 minute walk up the hill. Places to check out include Taste, St Agnes Hotel and Shellfish Beach.
