About this property

One of two delightful cottages within the beautiful grounds of Cusgarne House.

Nestled in the serene village of Cusgarne, The Threshing Barn is one of two charming cottages situated within the picturesque grounds of Cusgarne House. Positioned perfectly within a short drive from the coastline, this beautifully renovated 19th-century barn provides an ideal location. This well-situated destination ensures enjoyment for all the family, whether you're taking a shopping trip in Truro City or exploring Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium, there is plenty to do and see nearby.

With a beautiful blend of stone and wood throughout, the ground floor offers two beautifully furnished bedrooms. Bedroom one boasts a king-size bed, whilst the second bedroom features twin single beds, each accompanied by its own en-suite.

Upstairs, the open-plan living area benefits from vaulted ceilings adorned with beams, creating a generous sense of space. The well-appointed kitchen features an oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. The dining table accommodates up to four guests with ease. In the sitting room, comfortable seating and a warm wood-burning stove combine to establish a cosy retreat for relaxing evenings.

Along with its own terrace and barbecue area, guests can also enjoy the large and lovely gardens surrounding the property which are shared with Church Close Cottage. Both cottages have access to a games room with table tennis, along with beach equipment for use during your stay.

Just a mile away from the property you'll find the calming pleasantries of Bissoe Valley Nature Park which is perfect for a morning stroll with the family and dogs; or even a perfect place to get the mountain bikes out to get some of that fresh Cornish air.

Relax in Peace and Tranquility!

Another lovely stay at The Threshing Barn. My family enjoy knowing the creature comforts that The Threshing Barn offers. Log burner, comfortable seating, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine and washing machine. The bedrooms are perfect, both with en-suite bathroom facilities. And of course, the wifi is very convenient although I understand some people may prefer to be away from this. Locally and within walking distance, you have a wonderful, friendly pub and a great organic farm shop. We love staying at the property for the convenience of it all.

Lovely summer break

The Threshing barn is set in a lovely village location perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday. You do need to be comfortable driving the country roads of Cornwall staying here! It is about 20 mins to Truro and Falmouth and also to Porthtowan beach where you can book surfing lessons, there are cafes/restaurants, beach shops and toilets. As a family of 4 (children aged 15 and 12) the size of the barn was ideal and with 2 bathrooms there were no arguments! I would suggest some hooks to be added in the bathrooms for dressing gowns/ towels to be hung. There were plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped - although I would recommend the addition of some of some metal oven trays. The outside space is lovely and well-maintained. The patio area has seating and a BBQ - unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to enjoy the outdoor area! There is also a car port (2 car spaces) and games room with a table tennis table. This area is shared with the cottage on the grounds. We had an issue with the oven the day after we arrived and customer services were very efficient and it was sorted the next working day. The only negative point that I would mention about our stay is that the level of cleaning was not to the standard that I would expect, with cobwebs in corners and dust behind furniture and down the side of wardrobes etc. I passed this information on to customer services and I am sure that the house-keeper will have rectified it for future guests. It didn't stop us from having a wonderful holiday at the Threshing Barn.

Threshing barn

A lovely property but really could do with some shelving in the bathrooms.. two teenagers come with lots of toiletries, likewise so do adults and it would be really helpful for somewhere to put toothbrushes, makeup etc as the mirrors are in the bathrooms It is a shame the outdoor dining is by the bins too

Property very good, could do better at communicating.

Property on the whole was very good. The only issues we had were; 1) Clean sheets, pillow cases and towels not available for the second week, until a call was made to Cornwall Hideaways. 2) Did not receive a call back from Cornwall Hideaways after leaving a message stating that, although we had received clean sheets and towels for the second week we had still not received any clean pillow cases.

Holiday experience in a beautiful barn

Overall good stay and comfortable. It was homely, quiet, spacious and clean. Some minor issues were attended to pretty quickly. It is very rural location. Found it difficult to locate the property partly due to lack of internet signal outside. It would have been good if the name of the property was prominently displayed outside on the gate. It also had an outer room with a TT table which was an additional facility which we enjoyed. We would love to come back.
