Lovely cottage for a family

We had a lovely stay in Scrumbles Hollow. The cottage was fabulous, even better in person than in the pictures. Perfect location, leas than a mile walk into the centre and beach. Beautiful garden, clearly well loved! We were amused by the height of the washing line, perhaps set up by a giant that bumps his head often on the low door frames within the cottage, but fine for my partner as he could just reach to hang things for me (he’s 6ft tall!) I was a little disappointed that the shower head in the upstairs bathroom didn’t have a fixing on the wall, however the shower that is off of the downstairs bedroom sufficed for the week, much to my teenagers dismay, as that was his room. We would definitely stay there again!

Scrumbles Hollow

Scrumbles Hollow was a superb base for a holiday In Cornwall as it was very central in the county. We could easily park the cars at the cottage and walk into town for anything. The cottage was very clean and tidy with everything you could need in the kitchen. We loved the outside garden space, which was way more than many cottages have.

Lovely holiday

Lovely stay . House is lovely and we have stayed here a couple of times now. The house is well equipped and very comfortable with a fab private safe garden. St Agnes is lovely and has a nice beach. It is well located with Truro only 20 mins away and St Ives a 40 min drive

Cute cottage, couple of improvements needed

We had a great week staying at Scrumbles Hollow, however there are a few things which could be improved to make the stay better. The beds were quite creaky and uncomfortable, particularly the one in the master bedroom. This made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Although fairly clean, there were some areas of the property which could do with more cleaning. For example, our daughter dropped a toy down the side of the sofa and when removing the cushions it was clear these hadn't been cleaned for a while. The main reason we wouldn't stay here again is the location. Although it says walking distance to the beach it's 1.5 miles - bearing in mind there are some steep hills. This wasn't practical with a toddler so we ended up driving to other beaches.

Lovely stay despite the rain!

Scrumbles is a delightful cottage with a beautiful garden. Parking space fine for my smallish car but lay-by always full so be aware if you have a large car. Cottage very well equipped and nice and warm. Water in downstairs shower never really got hot so only used the hand shower but we managed. Beds really comfy and linen and towels were excellent quality. About 15 minutes walk to Railway Inn which was perfect for us although road could be difficult with little ones as no footpath in places. Overall, excellent value for money and would come back.

Character cottage with secluded garden

Great cottage. Close to town and beach. Good facilities with plenty of quality utensils for cooking. Lovely bedding and towels supplied. Beware low beams!! Ok for most but my son is 6’ 2” and bumped his head a few times. Garden is a real sun trap. Great for dogs and humans to relax. Rather high step to access was tricky for my Mum who has knee problems. St Agnes is great location for exploring whole of Cornwall. Youngsters did coastal paths and lots of walking. We did more sedate places as my Mum is in her 80’s. All in all we had a great trip. Murphy the Lurcher loved beach at Pentire. Cornwall was far busier than normal for this time of year but great anyway. St Agnes Beacon gives 360 deg views for miles on a clear day. Then the fog comes in and it “white out” Don’t miss Sunset at St Agnes Head, we bought fish & chips in St Agnes and Sat and watched. Amazing.

Great little retreat

Enjoyed a very pleasant break at This lovely cottage. The kitchen is a good size and the sitting room was lovely and cosy on cold wet winter nights. All facilities were good and there was plenty of hot water. It must be lovely in the summer as the garden looks lovely. This will definitely go on the list of possibilities when we return..
