About this property
Cullintra House - Country Escape, Pets are Welcome
A countryside retreat in the heart of Co Kilkenny, Ireland – surrounded by acres of woodland, farmland and secret places to explore, Cullintra House offers guests a unique accommodation experience.
6 Guest Rooms in total (max occupancy 14)
Including Double Rooms, Triple Rooms & a Family Suite
Stone Glamping Cottage
Stay in Historic Farmhouse, Chaff House or Gallery Room
Cullintra House can offer accommodation for up to 14 guests. Accommodation is provided in five guest bedrooms in the Farmhouse. These range in size and configuration to suit families or groups of friends.
A rental period of 4 or 6 nights for €5,000
You won’t find flat screen TV’s or telephones in your room; Cullintra is a traditional Irish Farmhouse where we encourage guests to relax and escape from the pressures of everyday life.
What you will find are comfortable beds made up with all natural fibres – crisp cotton sheets, woollen blankets, feather and down pillows and quilts.
Period furniture and some of Patricia’s unique finds ensure that guest rooms are bright and welcoming.
Our Gardens & Grounds abound with lush foliage, shrubs, lawns, pastures and natural woodland. We encourage wildlife and take a considered approach to the natural cycle of the seasons. Logs and dead wood are allowed to rot naturally becoming a home to insects and small mammals. We have a herd of wild deer that visit our farmland and can often be seen grazing.
Cullintra House is fortunate to have some wonderful country and hillside walks on its doorstep … literaly! Brandon Hill is the most immediate and there is a private marked pathway leading directly from the house to the top where an ancient cairn sits. On a good day you can see where several counties in Ireland meet – Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Waterford & Tipperary.
The area is the centre of a growing hillwalking trend in the Southeast. The Barrow Towpath is also of course the route of the South Leinster Way and walkers can also visit the Blackstairs Mountains.
One of Kilkenny’s many walking and cycling trails passes the gate of Cullintra House.
