About this property

Quay Cottage - a holiday cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Quay Cottage is a beautifully refurbished fishermans cottage overlooking the picturesque harbour of Port St Mary, a fishing village in the south of the Isle of Man.

The holiday cottage benefits from two cosy en-suite bedrooms, charming living space with electric stove and a small but very well appointed galley style kitchen. The property is located a stones throw from the shoreline and boasts views across the quaint working harbour and down the coast towards Castletown and the Langness peninsula. Beautiful views

Beautiful views - nice and warm and very comfortable beds. Would be nice to have a bigger television and the bin in the kitchen is very awkward as does not slide under the sink easily. A few coffee pods and more than 3 dishwasher tablets for a week would be welcome as well as a working salt grinder. It is worth noting the oven is very effective and the appliances are excellent but the space is extremely limited in the kitchen. There was no hot water in the upstairs shower - only very lukewarm water. It’s also a very big step to get into it and not for anyone with mobility problems. Parking outside for a small to medium car.

Beautifully faultless

[Booked through Vrbo but serviced by Island Escapes]The property was a delight, a few yards from the harbour with all three floors offering stunning views over the harbour and the sea out to the west. The property was immaculately finished and maintained, seemingly only recently redecorated. The downstairs galley kitchen was small but perfectly functional, with top-brand appliances abounding. The downstairs en-suite bedroom and second floor en-suite bedrooms were clean, comfortable and delightfully decorated. Note that the upstairs bathroom only has a shower over the bath, although the downstairs bedroom's small en-suite has a walk-in shower. The first (middle) floor is the lounge and dining area, with two sofas and a fairly small TV (that some may find a little too small). Really comfortable though, with the heating almost being too good at times (despite it being February).Would recommend sleeping in the upper bedroom with the blinds open so you can experience the glorious first light and subsequent sunrise.Nearby is the Albert pub where the Okells is bob on, and there's a Co-op and a couple of takeaways within a few minutes' stroll. The walks along the seafront and around the picturesque harbour are spectacular. It really is a stunning property.

Wonderful quirky cottage

Came for a 3 night girly break mum and daughter's and it was perfect. The location was amazing and the property cleverly designed to maximise the space with all modcons you would need. Already planning the next break.

Fantastic Harbour Views.

Beautifully presented throughout, Quay Cottage is an interesting place to stay. Views over the harbour and out to sea mean there’s a constantly changing view. The bedrooms and bathrooms are modern and spacious. The kitchen whilst well equipped is very narrow so not easy for more than one person to work in. The staircase to the living room is also extremely narrow making transporting your food upstairs ti the dining area a challenge.

Lovely harbourside retreat

We had a lovely few days at Quay Cottage. Beds were lovely and comfortable and galley kitchen was really well-stocked. The whole house was beautifully decorated and furnished and the views from the windows were wonderful. Bringing food up from the ground floor kitchen to the first floor dining table was a minor faff but we used a tray and not a crumb or drop was spilt. I had been a bit worried about the stairs as i do have a minor mobility problem but it was fine. The staircases aren't as wide as a standard staircase and they bend around a corner, but there are bannisters and places to rest your hand, and the steps are well-carpeted, well-lit and not slippy. In short, if you're planning to host elaborate dinner parties where you need to run to and from the kitchen all the time, perhaps you should choose somewhere else, but if you're after a beautiful, comfortable place to stay in a lovely location, Quay Cottage is perfect.

Quay Cottage

This cosy old fisherman’s cottage enjoys an excellent location on the harbour at PSM being very convenient for local buses and starting point for local walks. It is well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen is quite small but well equipped. For those with mobility problems the narrow stairs would be a challenge and food and drink have to be carried upstairs.

Access

Stairs difficult for elderly people with even slight mobility issues. Taking food upstairs not ideal. Otherwise excellent.

Ideal location with beautiful views

Lovely 3 storey cottage overlooking the harbour. Very well presented with 2 en-suite bedrooms and the living area on the middle floor. This cottage is right on the harbourside and in a quiet peaceful area. It has a parking space outside the front door. So lovely to have local produce as well as tea & biscuits provided. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Great location on the harbour

We've stayed a few times in this pretty little cottage on the Harbour at Port St Mary. It's quite small for 4 people but the location makes it worth it. Love waking up to the gorgeous view of the harbour and ideally located for seeing our family who all live in the village. Would highly recommend.

Quay Cottage short break

Excellent location to revisit Port St Mary. Village now lacks a family friendly pub but the views are as good as ever. Very narrow stairs to first floor but not an issue. Kitchen is small (as advertised). Some maintenance to windows and outdoor area required but minor end of season things. Will be certain to return.

Beautiful location, on harbour front with beautiful views across the bay and within easy walking distance to the town. Cottage to high standard, would certainly recommend.

A weeks stay in a great cottage

We booked Quay Cottage to attend the American Car Extravaganza. On arrival we were delighted with Quay Cottage which is warm and inviting with a great view of the adjoining harbour. It is very well equipped and comfortable.

Beautiful location. Fabulous place to stay.

Super easy instructions for property location and key access. Fantastic area to stay so beautiful even in the rain. Locals so friendly. Great coastal walks and local amenities. I even had to ask for help from the local Osteopath who was also super friendly and really helpful even though he was very busy.

Holiday with friends

Beautiful property in lovely quiet location! Short walk to local shops and the local pub is close by too. The cottage is well equipped with all you need. If we had one complaint it was that there was little drawer storage space in the downstairs bedroom. Despite this, would we stay there again - most definitely yes!

Lovely Harbour Side Cottage

Everything was basically perfect, lovely views even in cold February. Welcome to the sound of seagulls! The cottage is well equipped and was very clean. Just be prepared for steep stairs & mind your head (which is made clear upfront). We got excellent take-away pizza’s from Andreas on the High Street, 5 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend
