It is a brilliant spot for couples who want to enjoy a quiet, romantic break, or for a small family wanting to discover this most scenic area of Strathearn in Perthshire, which is known as the ‘gateway to the Highlands’.
Just a few minutes’ walk away is the centre of the charming market town of Crieff, which has an excellent selection of small local shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés, as well as a great variety of sporting and recreational facilities, including Crieff Golf Club, which is rated as Scotland’s finest inland golf course. This area of Strathearn is ideal for walkers and cyclists or for those who wish to relax and unwind. If you prefer more strenuous activities, then mountains such as Ben Vorlich, Ben Chonzie and Ben Lawers provide some excellent walking in dramatic scenery, and water sports are available on Loch Earn. A little further afield, but still within easy driving distance, you are able to enjoy day trips to the magnificent Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, or visit the attractive small villages in the area. Still within easy driving distance, day trips can be enjoyed at Stirling which offers retail therapy as well as visitor attractions including Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument.
