About this property
No 3 Bijou romantic retreat
If you like a touch of luxury to your break, look no further! This one bedroomed cottage was fully renovated in 2019. Found just yards off one of Whitby's main shopping streets, the cottage offers a view of the famous Abbey from the front door and the sea from the end of the road. There's a wide range of shops just round the corner where you can buy milk, bread, newspaper or wine. Stylish cafes, restaurants, and micro brewery a few minutes away. Free parking scratchcard provided & free wifi.
Look out of the front door and you can see Whitby's famous Abbey across the harbour and walk just 40 yards to the bottom of the street and it's just a 5 minute walk to the cliff top at West Cliff.
Whitby has something for everyone - smart wine bars, traditional pubs, micro breweries, a whole host of restaurants and cafes and delis to cosy Victorian styled eateries, an AA rosette restaurant in nearby Sandsend and of course plenty of fish and chip restaurants!
Whitby has a fantastic blue flag beach and one of our favourite walks is to Sandsend when the tide is out. There are lots of festivals including the famous Goth weekends in both April and October, the Folk Festival in August, Traction Engine rally in August, the Regatta also in August, 60s Festival in June, Soul weekend in July, Motown weekend in September and the Blues festival in November - there's something for everyone!

About the host
Hosted by Brigid Shaw

We bought this property in 2018 as both my husband and I have enjoyed many happy holiday in Whitby. Ive always enjoyed property renovation and relished the challenge of transforming this neglected property. We embarked on a full renovation programme ripping everything out including the plastered walls and floor. It is now essentially a brand new property in a traditional Whitby cottage building. It is well insulated, soundproofed and has all modern facilities including central heating, double glazing, modern bathroom suite and kitchen.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because of its location, it's found on a quiet cobbled street just yards from one of Whitby's main shopping streets. You can literally buy a loaf of bread, bottle of wine and a newspaper all within yards of your front door. The beach is around 500 metres from the cottages and if you look out of the front door you can see Whitby's famous Abbey. There are lovely cafes, restaurants and a deli just around the corner.
What makes this property unique
If you're looking for a touch of luxury for your break, you've come to the right place. I have invested in quality fixtures and fittings including a double headed shower, and sensor lit mirror in the good sized bathroom, a bluetooth speaker so you can listen to your own music, snuggle down on a Loaf sofa to watch a film on the smart TV while enjoying a G&T, and wake up from your Eve mattress to a freshly brewed coffee from the Lavazza coffee maker.
