What Tuscan Dreams are made of

By far the best place we’ve stayed in our lives. If there was an opportunity to give higher than 5 stars I would across the board. The pictures just do not do this place justice. Our core group was 3 families and every one of us just loved the property and accommodations. We love to cook and the brand new kitchen was amazing for our group to cook together. We booked this place to host mine and my friend’s 50th birthday celebration and what Gennaro (Villa Nobile owner) arranged for us exceeded our wildest dreams. We had 46 people in total at the day long event and every detail was absolutely amazing. It was truly one of the best days of our lives. Aside from how truly magical the property is, it was Gennaro that made our stay here the best experience. He was always available to help us with anything to make out trip to Tuscany unforgettable. If you get a chance to visit this place, grab it.

Can't wait to go back

Thanks to the attention and love that Gennaro and his family put into this villa, we had a wonderful stay at Villa Nobile. The grounds are gorgeous and we didn't take it for granted that everything is comfortable and easy. Our family of 10 loved it. We rented cars, which are a must I think, and found the villa's location to be a great starting point for many day trips. We also loved lounging by the pool, which is perfect and well maintained. Gennaro is also an incredible chef. We felt so well taken care of. I can't recommend Villa Nobile enough. Pure joy! This will be a difficult location and experience for us to top as a family.

Best birthday ever

We stayed with our extended family at Villa Nobile to celebrate my 70th birthday. Raffaele and Gennaro could not have been more helpful in dealing with all our many requirements. The Villa is well maintained in beautiful grounds, it has a well equipped kitchen, extensive dining area, a lovely swmming pool, and ample accommodation. It was really beyond all our expectations. We had a wonderful time and a truly memorable holiday.

Perfect villa for 50th birthday family getaway

This villa is delightful - set in beautiful Tuscan countryside. We were a group of University friends celebrating our 50th - wide ranging family ages from teenagers to toddlers and this villa catered for us all. The families with toddlers had the self contained apartments, the teenage friends shared and the parents all had quiet well catered ensuite rooms. The large kitchen area was our focal point, and in the evenings we poured wine and sat over at the beautiful fountain enjoying the phenomenal golden Tuscan sunlight. Rafaelle and Genarro are wonderful hosts - cooking us a meal the first night we arrived, and pointing us in the direction of supermarkets and restaurant tips for the rest of our stay. They were super friendly and on hand for anything we needed - a lovely family setup. The villa has been very well restored with a crystal clear pool and we will be recommending to other family groups. Thanks Rafaelle and Genarro - it was a pleasure meeting you both!

Perfect Location, Fabulous Hosts!

I can't recommend this property enough. We were a family of 19 (10 adults and 9 kids) and rented the entire villa. There was plenty of space for everyone and each room was well appointed. The kitchen/common area were perfect for our large group, and we ate together often around the big table on the covered patio. We loved the pool and used it frequently during the hot afternoons. It's perfectly located between Siena, Florence and Assisi, with charming hill towns all around. Located just off the highway, it was easy to get around quickly, yet still enjoy the countryside setting. The property, and views surrounding it were just gorgeous, and I loved to sip my coffee each morning while staring out at the trees, sunflowers, and rolling hills. Raffaele and his son are great hosts, providing tips on places to go, things to see, and helping to make reservations when needed. Thank you Raffaele and Gennaro for your wonderful attentiveness, conversation and humor. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you both (and your mother as well!) and hope we get a chance to cross paths again in the future!

Beautiful!

If you are looking for a villa in an idyllic setting in the heart of rural Tuscany look no further than Villa Nobile! We stayed for 10 days in August 2015. We stayed in one of the apartments on the ground floor which was really beautiful and the wet room really helpful for wheelchair users. Yours hosts Raffaele and Lina lovely people and are really helpful know all the restaurants/sights. The village of Cortona is great and worth several visits. I would recommend Villa Noblie to all my friends and family and people with disabilities. Beautiful very clean and most of all really relaxing. Fantastic!!! Best Wishes Suzy,Izzet,.

Had a fantastic wedding at Villa Nobile

We stayed in Villa Nobile during 12th to 19th of May, 2015. We hired the villa for the whole week, with Lina and Raffaele's warmest hospitality; we really had a fantastic wedding! Our wedding was held on the 16th of May, with20 guests. It’s a small symbolic wedding, but it’s exactly what we wanted: intimate, detailed, chic and with so many great people surrounded, best food you could ever taste, and the best photos for a wedding! I have started contacting Raffaele since February; he is very responsive, and extremely thoughtful. He has been doing lots, lots extra works to make sure Villa Nobile would top up our expectation, which it is, of course! As we live in England, we are not able to arrange the local musician, florist and hairdresser and etc for the wedding. I recommend people who are looking for a villa wedding; Villa Nobile is able to offer: 1. Accommodations: 5 stars (comparing to other villas we have stayed in Tuscany) 2. Catering: 5 stars (comparing to other food we have tasted in Tuscany) 3. Musician: 5 starts: all our guests are so entertained in the dancing pool! Raffaele himself is a very good singer! 4. Best view of wedding photography: I have posted some of our wedding photos onto Villa Nobile facebook. Feel free to visit! 5. Decorations for wedding 6. Local florist: 5 stars! You will be amazed the quality vs. price!!!!! I don’t know how best to put the words to appreciate the work Lina and Raffaele have done for us, please do visit Villa Nobile’s facebook page and you will see I am not lying!

We were a group of 18 people: adults and adolescents and child. We spent a wonderful 2 weeks holiday at Villa Nobile. The house is gorgeous & very spacious. The domain is beautiful. The swimming pool well big enough for a large group with lots of sunlounge chairs, seats in the shade or sun. It is a great location to visit Tuscany and part of Umbria. The Grounds are private & safe for young children too . There is a trampoline & swings. The shops & supermarkets are very nearby. For athletes, we tested golf, rafting and mountain biking. There are also tracks for walking around the farmlands & countryside Raffaele is a wonderful host. He will welcome you, advise you, tell you the story of his house (and his not sad life!) Do not hesitate to ask him for advice & help to prepare authentic traditional Italian meals. It's delicious! We loved our vacation. Some of us have already made an appointment in 2015 for a culinary trip ☺

Two week stay in august

We rented the whole house for two weeks. The location of the villa is perfect. Close by the autostrada and most touristic attractions within one hour drive. Large supermarkets in 5 minutes. We were 7 families with young children. At arrival the house was very clean. The beds are comfortable. The pictures On the website are a good indicator of what you get. The pool is large enough for all of us. The pergola provides the needed shade for the babies. Enough beds and parasols. Because of the heat the grass was very dry. The trees still need tot grow to provide more shade by the pool. Raffaele is a very good host, speaks very well English which is convenient. The communal kitchen was to be shared with the owner, but that is not a problem. An extrat fridge in that kitchen for the guests would be handy though. Lina, the cook, prepared us five times a fantastic three courses Italian meal, special dish for the children. We have no complaints! Maybe in the future we will go back. For now 4 and a half stars, but when the improvements you said you will do are done you will definitively earn 5 stars!

Position "A" for a Tuscan Holiday !!!

If you are looking for a Villa in an idyllic setting in the heart of rural Tuscany ............. look no further than Villa Nobile !!! we stayed for 10 days in late July / early August and are missing it already ! This accomodation is in position "A" to visit Florence ( 9.6 euros on train - 1hr 30 mins ) / Rome ( 9 euros on train - 1hr 20mins ) / Perugia ( 40 mins in car ) / Sienna ( same again 40 mins in car + the jewel in the crown ). For you lads, Montepulciano + Piensa ( wine tasting is 25 mins in car ) whilst for the girls , the 140+ retail store outlet village ( if you want to get out of the 35 deg heat ) is only 10 mins away ! The villa is set c 200 yds off the main road and is so tranquil surrounded by sunflowers and trees. The accomodation is of an excellent standard delightfully decorated in typical Tuscan style with very comfortable beds and soothing showers to come home too after battling it out in that sun. The pool is very clean , spacious and not too deep for you worried swimmers out there. Your host , Raffele , is so helpful and knows all the best restaurants / sights - both tourist and non tourist - so definitely use him as your guide and many thanks to him for sorting out our evening eating arrangements - the village of Cortona is awesome and only 20 mins away . Many Thanks also to Lina for sorting out Ellie's birhday cake whilst we were away and to the bag man - Raff's son , Jennaro ! What else can I say Raff ( still can't get used to that Sicilian / Bradford accent ! ) - thanks so much to you for truly making our Tuscan holiday so enjoyable for myself and all the girls and we will definitely be coming back in 2014 to visit again - this time with Di's mum + dad. There are still so many places to visit in Tuscany / Umbria and I will contact you early in 2014. Grazie , Ciao and Arrivederci !!! Martin , Di , Becky and Ellie.

What a holliday!

A large group of 26 people, 12 adults, 2 youths and 12 children stayed at the Villa Nobile for one week. We had a really great time!!!! This was a perfect place for our group, and Raffaele made us feel very welcome and "at home". The children were playing around in the garden and everybody enjoyed the perfect size and depth of the swimmingpool. Each family (6 families) got their own appartment with kitchen. Every appartement was in good size and condition. We had a little problem with the air-condition, but it turned out okey. The beginning of august was really hot so the swimmingpool was needed : ). After visiting cities like Cortona, Foiano, Firenze or Montepultiano it was perfect to come back to Villa Nobile to relax. Villa Nobile is placed in the middel of everything. If you rent a car you have all possibilities. We didn't get to see and experience all that we wantet so we just have to go back. This is the perfect holliday, and a stay at Villa Nobile is highly reccomended!! Thank you, Raffaele, you and Lina made the trip even better than expected. We miss Villa Nobile, the sun, the fun, the swimmingpool, the great food, the beautiful nature, the warm and beautiful evenings, friendship and your kindness. Hilde

Tranquil Bliss!

My husband and daughters stayed here for a week and we loved the surroundings-- immense fields of sunflower fields and close to Tuscan hilltop villages. It was a perfect location to see San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza, Montepulciano and my favorite, Siena (1/2 hour drive). We made Rome a day excursion and were able to drive from Rome back to this villa in 1 1/2 hours, much faster than I expected! This was our third week in Italy and our favorite place to stay. The apartments are roomy and very tastefully decorated in Tuscan style with beautiful artwork. The beds were sooooo comfortable...everything was perfect! The grounds and fountains were lovely! The pool was great...I loved to just lounge by the pool and enjoy the surrounding fields of sunflowers...it was idyllic! We highly recommend it! Raffaele was a great host...very accommodating, helpful and fun! We are already thinking about returning with friends and extended family in the near future!

Way More Than Expected!

I was met by Raphaello, the owner of Villa Nobile, at the airport and my "Tuscany in the Frame" trip went uphill from there! The villa far exceeded my expectations. The surrounding area is beautiful and the host, Raphaello a true professional. He made my trip comfortable, informative and fun. I was also lucky to spend the week with a fantastic pastel artist as well as 10 other fantastic women. I really only knew 1 of them before the trip and ended up feeling very sad leaving the villa, Raphaello, Lina the fabulous cook and the entire group. I would highly recommend Villa Nobile and Tuscany in the Frame!

fantastic stay

My husband and I stayed at the Villa for an art and touring adventure and got so much more than we expected out of the experience The sunflower and wheat fields surrounding the villa were an eyeful and the light, well the light was brilliant. Our apartment was large, well laid out and charming with modern fixtures and a full kitchen available. The treat of this tour was Raffaele's "friends" in heliports, surrounding inns and his amazing friend Lina who cooked us feasts that were spectacular. The trip was very unstructured and laid back. While the art workshops were not terribly organized, the studio was very nice for morning painting. the grounds and surrounding scenery made photographic and plein air opportunities amazing. We did cooking school at the villa next door and that was a highlight as well. Lucca and staff were fun, engaging and the experience of the freshest foods and hands on was another great memory of the trip. Still cooking eggplant towers and bruschetta. I loved the cafeteria in town where some of us went for lunch. We really felt like we lived like the Tuscans for a few days, having a delightful home station at Villa Nobile, a great guy in Raffaele brining us to gorgeous towns and vistas and the most amazing food and wine in a country setting. My college friends and I are turning 60 in 2 years. Villa Nobile will be on our list of possible destinations. My husband and i travel all over, often to pricier and fancier resorts. We went with no expectations and both agree that this was among our top vacations ever. Missing Tuscany and our time there. Fondest of memories Laurie Kalb Kaswiner and Lee Kaswiner

Great Choice for Couples, Families or Groups

The accommodation was beautiful, clean and very well situated for visiting the area. Our stay there was everything we hoped it would be. We are a family with older teenagers. At Villa Nobile we were traveling with a family friend. Villa Nobile's flexible accommodation worked out perfectly for us. We rented 3 apartments in a row, we were very pleased with all of them. Raffaele was very helpful when we were booking our stay, working out what combination would suit us best. Raffaele was a great host. We immediately felt very welcome. He judges really well when to chat and when to leave you to enjoy the villa. He is an interesting guy, you will want to chat! His tourist advice was very helpful, I think we got more out of our stay because of him. The surrounding area is full of places to visit. I wish we'd had longer there. And by the way, the big supermarket in Cortona is really good!

Highly Recommended

We really had a great stay at the Villa Nobile. The rooms are really nicely appointed, spacious and with all the facilities you need. Location is beautiful, and well placed for trips out. It was great to have a lazy start to each day in the pool, and then draw on our excellent and genial host Raffaelle's extensive local knowledge for suggestions of places to go. We had a great time there and i would recommend it highly.

Beautiful and relaxing Villa Nobile

We stayed at Villa Nobile between 26 July and 5 August 2011 and had the best time. The Villa is beautiful, surrounded by corn and sunflower fields, but near to the main roads to make it the perfect base to explore many Tuscan and Umbrian Towns. Our 2 bedroom apartment was very clean, comfortable, well furnished and appointed. The pool area is lovely and really well maintained, and our teenage boys also really enjoyed the football pitch, the badminton net, the table tennis and the table football. The landscaping around the villa is really attractive and will only improve as it matures - it's a fab place to sit, admire and chill. Last, but absolutely not least, Raffaele and his family are welcoming, helpful and extremely good hosts. Thanks very much Raffaele, I would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Nobile and we had a brilliant holiday!

Our wonderful holiday at Villa Nobile

We travelled to Villa Nobile from Pisa and as we drove down the long country lane we were stunned by the beauty of the house and its setting among the extensive fields of sunflowers, outlined by the many trees of cypress and oak. The accomodation for us was in 2 apartments to accomodate the six of us, we have four older children 10 - 17 and they were delighted to be a little removed from Mum and Dad. The apartments were extremely tastefully furnished with the touch of the artist which is obvious in everything that Raffaele has done as he has developed this charming old building. We immediately were made welcome and throughout our stay he proved to be a wealth of information, helping us to build our daily itinery. We had been in Tuscany the previous year and had visited both Florence and Siena so although very close we had decided to use this as a base to explore into Umbria mainly. Cities such as Arezzo, Perugia and Assisi are all within a short drive and are not to be missed. We were particularly drawn to Castiglione del Lago and enjoyed the old walled citadel and the many shops and restaurants within. One particularly memorable day was spent on a day trip to Rome that although we had a car we decided to make use of the train service. The journey takes about 2 1/2 hrs. Raffaele was kind enough to invite us to a family barbecue which we thoroughly enjoyed and epitomised his hospitality. Lena ensured the apartments were in immaculate condition- many thanks also for enduring our Italian! A truly enjoyable holiday -we hope to return in the near future.

Holiday dream come true

The time we spent at Villa Nobile was the best we have ever had!!! The house is absolutely magnificent, perfectly restored to the minutest detail a traditional Tuscan villa should have. It is true that the pictures do not do the justice. You can choose here from a selection of a few beautiful apartments. Each of them preserves its Tuscan style, yet is different from the remaining ones. The owner, who is an artist himself, took great effort to carefully design, furnish and equip the rooms to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding guests. The accommodation is brand new and the kitchenettes are very well-equipped. The whole villa is impecably clean and well-maintained. So is the pool, which was the best play area for our children. We particularly enjoyed the time spent at our apartment patio chatting with the host or other people from his family. Villa Nobile is located in the heart of the oldest Italian and Tuscan area of the town of Cortona. Cortana is only a short distance away from the house and is definitely a must-see for all history and architecture lovers. This Etruscan settlement is full of narrow winding streets with dozens of old churches and secret gardens hidden in between the city houses and walls. It takes little time to get to Arezzo, Siena, Padova, Perugia, Florence or Assisi from Villa Nobile. The surrounding area of the house is full of little historic wonders which are equally worth seeing, like a 13th c. old local church, little old towns or vinaries. The review would not be complete without a few words about our host who is the most wonderful and friendly person. It was his incredible personality that made us feel at home there. We could always count on him and was always there for us or our children ready to share his time with us. He was not only our party companion but also an art critic and trip advisor. He remained most helpful throughout our whole stay. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone wishing to spend some romantic moments among Tuscan sunflower fields and cypress hills. We would definitely love to come back to Raffaele next year!

Splendid Accommodation

We had a fabulous holiday at this beautiful villa, as a large family group of 5 to 74 years old. The quality was better than expected, the accommodation was very comfortable and immaculate with top quality furnishings and everything we could possibly need. A big thanks to Lena, as it was spotlessly clean on arrival and again when it was cleaned mid holiday. The lay out of the accommodation allowed us as a large group to be together if we chose, but as it can be rented as separate accommodation, we all still had our own space. We spent many evenings enjoying our evening meal outdoors with a glass of wine and many days by the fabulous pool. The large pool suited everyone and on the very hot days was more than welcome to cool off. The pergola allowed us to have lunch by the pool and was an alternative venue for our evening meals. Raffaelle and his son Gennaro were really friendly and helpful, keeping us updated on any local activities that we might be interested in. One evening our teenage boys went along to watch a local football tournament, where you could mingle with the local community and enjoy some pasta and pizza! A car is needed to get shop, but it is only a 5 minute journey to Foiano, which has a variety of shops, as well as a gelateria and take out pizzeria. There is a lovely restaurant at the end of the drive and the Hotel Farneta is highly recommended by us, offering reasonably priced, but high quality and authentic Tuscan cuisine, this is an absolute must visit. Cortona is close by 20 minutes by car and is also a must visit, as is Montepulciano. Train station at Camucia only 15/20 minutes away, enabled us to visit Rome/Florence and Pisa, all worth a visit, trains are reliable and easy to access. The A1 autostrada is close by, so made the villa easy to find and allowed us to access the neighbouring villages and towns. We will definately be back and would thoroughly recommend this property and area to anyone, in fact we are already planning our return trip, still so much to see and the comfort, facilities and central location of Villa Nobile is perfect. Many thanks from Helen, Gerry and family

Space to breathe

My wife and I stayed here as part of a touring holiday through France and Italy and this was by far and away the best accommodation we experienced. It is situated in a rural setting and is very spacious both inside and out. The apartments are newly fitted out to a very high standard, with a kitchen to die for - full sized fridge/freezer and a full sized oven. We preferred to eat in most of the time but there is a restaurant a few hundred yards away. By car you can find shops and restaurants 10 or 15 minutes away. Foiano is the nearest town, a small pleasant unspoilt Italian hill town, not heaving with tourists. There are small local shops, supermarkets, cafes and a garage. By contrast 15 minutes away is Cortona, a bustling medieval hill town, popular with tourists and a must see for a day. Villa Nobile is well positioned for visits to the best known historic towns of Siena, Assissi, Perugia and Florence. There is an excellent train service to Florence and we found this the best way, as recommended by the proprietor of Villa Nobile - Raffaele - who was always most helpful. Villa Nobile has just been converted to several spacious apartments suitable for couples, families or groups but a car is essential. The gardens are extensive but not mature and we are very much looking forward to seeing how things have developed when we return in May 2010.

Fantastic Tuscan Holiday

We have just spent a fantastic holiday at Villa Nobile. From the time we arrived driving down the cypress lined driveway we just could not believe how gorgeous the propery was. (the photos do not do it justice). Having visited Tuscany many times before we have to say the villa is restored to the highest standard of anywhere we have stayed in the past. It was large enough for each part of our family group to have their own space if needed to relax & chill out both inside and out, this for us was a real plus. We spent many days relaxing around the pool & soaking up the sun as well as enjoying walking in the surrounding countryside. We loved the nearby hill towns of Cortona & Montepulciano, Lake Trasimeno is a must to visit too as well as Siena & Florence. Raffaele was the perfect host with his son Gennaro they gave us lots of advice on where to go & tips on places to eat nothing was too much trouble!. A couple of times we walked down the lane to eat at the local restaurant & enjoyed many a great meal there washed down with some superb local wines. We are planning our return visit to Villa Nobile already & will definatley be recommending you to others. Thanks for everything Raff. The Carson family.
