About this property

5* luxury pet friendly house in Woolacombe with hot tub and sea views

Set just back from the Esplanade in Woolacombe is Memory House, a delightful, five star, four bedroom house accommodating up to seven guests. The luxury, pet friendly holiday home, which boasts some of the best sea views in Woolacombe has a notable history after being named after its former owner Lady Rosalie Chichester's dog. This classic period house was fully renovated just a couple of years ago and now offers stunning self-catering accommodation for families and groups of friends, it even benefits from its own private hot tub and off road car parking.

When staying at Memory House, guests are literally only a few minutes walk from Woolacombe's award winning beach that stretches along North Devon's coastline for almost three miles and offers a wealth of water sports, as well as a safe, clean and friendly environment for families to enjoy time together with their children. Whilst at the house you can sit back and relax and admire the breath taking sea views from almost every window, and the sunsets from the spacious decking are some of the best in the world as you watch the sun drop into the ocean.

Memory House was once the home of Lady Chichester and retains many of its original character features that are combined with modern contemporary ones. On the ground floor of the house there is a well-equipped, bespoke, Stephen Graver kitchen and an adjoining living area that has a comfy sofa and armchairs overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. On the first floor there are two Master Bedrooms both have bay windows and sea views, as well as super king size beds and en-suite bathrooms. The final two bedrooms are on the second floor, one is a double and one is a single, these bedrooms share the family bathroom.

Outside, Memory House has a large terrace that wraps around the property and enjoys southerly views over Woolacombe beach, Baggy Point and beyond, you will even be able to see Lundy Island on a clear day, this is the largest island in the Bristol Channel and is well worth a visit. It is on the terrace you will find a large 6 person hot tub, an outside shower and wonderful landscaped gardens - it really is an oasis of calm.

Please note Memory House enjoys off road car parking for two cars and is unable to welcome stag or hen parties. If coming with an electric car, a telsa car charger is available free of charge and can be booked in advance.

Memory House is located on Woolacombe's Esplanade and as such is only a short walk from the beach where you can participate in a number of water sports such as surfing and stand-up paddle boarding, as well as just sit back and relax whilst soaking up the rays. In the winter months, the three mile long beach becomes a haven for dog owners as you can walk the fall stretch of beach from Barricane to Putsborough. The village of Woolacombe is also within easy walking distance and is home to several shops and many excellent places to eat, there is even a spa and cinema within the village.

2 dogs are welcome, and there is an additional charge of £25 per dog per booking. Please notify us at time of booking. Payment must be made prior to arrival.

Perfect location

This property is in an ideal location overlooking Woolacombe beach. The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely touch. The decking where the table and hot tub are situated are very overlooked by the adjoining property, which you can’t see from the pictures. If you are all adults using all bedrooms, it’s worth noting that there is absolutely no clothes storage in the fourth bedroom - not even a hook on the back of the door! These are very minor points, but might be handy to know in advance of arrival.

Perfect family house above the beach

Luxurious family accommodation - big open living room / kitchen, with wood burner ( ample free wood) as well as excellent central heating. 2 huge double bedrooms with enormous windows overlooking the beach, both with excellent shower / bathrooms. Bedrooms on top floor small, in comparison, but ok. Deck with hot tub, already heated when we arrived, and outside seating overlooking beach. Clean gas BBQ available. Parking for 2 cars (sometimes competition from residents of adjoining properties. All in all, a super place. We immediately booked a week for next year!

Excellent place and house. Sadly both my children have come out in a hot tub rash.

The house was amazing and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. There are a few things broken or requiring maintenance with the house. Also after visiting doctors both my children have come out in a ‘hot tub rash’. Meaning bacteria in the hot tub and we all were skeptical getting in as it looked merky. All outdoor cushions were covered in spiders and dirt. But really lovely house apart from the aftermath from the uncleaned hot tub.

Perfect location, overlooking and minutes from the beach

Our second time at the house. Great spot, directly across the road ad car park from the beach and the excellent Beachcomber cafe, with parking space for 2 cars and private lawn. Wraparound terrace with ample seating, outside dining area, gas BBQ, large hot tub, external hot shower, all as described. The ground floor open plan kitchen / dining / sitting room with internet TV is super, with huge windows and a high ceiling. It is equipped with virtually everything, including a Nespresso machine (original pods) (but no milk frother). The two first floor bedrooms are enormous, with huge windows looking over the beach and massive cupboard space and big bathrooms, though one has only a walk-in shower (with shower gel almost out of reach for some reason). One useful addition to the bedrooms would be a desk for working, which most people must do these days. There is a desk on the big first floor landing, but this is not really ideal. The two bedrooms on the second floor are much smaller and one of these is really a single, so if the party includes four couples, there will be fights over who gets the palatial ones on the first floor...... Thoroughly recommend it and we plan to return....

Fabulous views and great location

Lovely old house which has been tastefully restored and decorated. The location is ideal, a little out of the town centre, but very easy to walk there or to the beach. The house has amazing views of both the beach and surrounding countryside from both the living area and bedrooms and is very comfortable. It was lovely to be able to have a fire at night or to be able to sit out in the hot tub and take in the great views. Slight niggles were the inadequate information on check in, being given the wrong Sky pin and no information at all on the internet passwords. We also reported a dripping tap in the kitchen when we arrived, which was only fixed right at the end of our stay. The kitchen equipment needs improving, as does the exterior furniture. The property is very dog friendly, but it would have been helpful to have the garden area fenced in (as was the case with the other Parade House properties) so we didn’t have to constantly watch our dog when she was outside.
