Much better than a motel for my husband and me for a few days of relaxation. We trailered our side by side to the places we wanted to explore and even though it was 30 miles from Moab, it was still worth it to stay in quiet Thompson Springs. The property was very nice and sooo clean.

Everything we needed!

We only stayed in the RV for a quick overnight but it had absolutely everything we needed! It was clean, cozy and comfortable. And it was just a short drive to Arches and Moab

We loved the trailer. Very comfortableand clean. Everything in it look new

This is our third stay at this property. We love its location, we love its Vibe, and we love the owners and the people who work here. Everything is well thought out and works well. It's clean and quite. A great place to watch the sun rise and set or see the stars. We'll be back!

Clean, quiet, comfortable, exactly how it had been pictured in the online ads!

I've been wanting to visit Arches my whole life. When I began researching motels and lodging near Moab, I started to realize that making this trip may be more expensive than I had thought. When I saw the Ballard Campground option, and the carriage fifth wheel for such a reasonable price, I booked it immediately! I stayed six nights, and went in and out of Arches and Canyonlands all week long, just absolutely wonderful! The campground is convenient, right off of the interstate, and there is a gas station and 7-Eleven right there. I had hoped to travel to the west side of Canyonlands to Horseshoe Canyon, and hike out to see the Great Gallery, but time and money would not allow. However, Dave at the Ballard Campground gave me a map that led me just a few miles North into Sego Canyon, where there are several fascinating examples of ancient Indian art, I spent at least 2 hours out there! So, thank you for that Dave! I just returned home to Florida, and I am longing to come back to Utah! I would certainly stay at the Ballard RV campground again, and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a less expensive yet equally comfortable way to stay near Moab and the National Parks. My dream vacation was everything I had hoped it would be, and having a clean comfortable quiet camper of my own to come back to at the end of a long day of hiking was perfect!

Pleasant stay

This was our first time staying in an rv. There are a few adjustments to make to your usual habits but the owner, Dave, is wonderful and showed us how everything works. Definitely bigger than a hotel room. There are also nice showers in the office if you prefer a long rinse, as well as laundry facilities. It does take 30-40 minutes to drive to the parks or Moab but it worked well for us as a base for exploration of the area. Ask Dave about the scenic drive. It ended up being the highlight of our short stay; don’t miss it!

Very easy even for newbies!

As my title suggests, we have never stayed in a travel trailer before and it turned out to be easier than I thought.Dave showed us how to operate everything in just a few minutes and we were set.The appliances were brand new and easy to operate, gas stove was small but efficient, toilet was different but again easy to use, shower was interesting. There is only 5 gallons of hot water at a time so you get good at taking short, fast showers. Plenty of room and the bed was comfortable. They even provide coffee! Yeah!! Beautiful area too.

Great Value, Friendly Folks

Prices in Moab can be outrageous. This property has great rates and is only 25 minutes from Arches National Park. The trailer is clean and well equipped. We used both the bed and the pull out and slept fine. It is an travel trailer so the bathroom isn't large but was exactly what we expected. There is an occasional train that passes just north. In addition to the trailer there are other properties that are bigger on site with the same great value. Access Moab without paying the expensive prices.

Great place!! Would definitely stay again!! Very quiet. and close to the wonderful parks

I was originally wanting to stay in Moab for spring break vacation. With all the hotels in Moab going for about $300 a night and not too many left to choose from, I went to VRBO. I came across this place and just decided to take a chance seeing how I've never stayed in a trailer before. I showed up 2 hours before check-in time hoping that somehow they would let me in early, and that they did! The trailer had everything I could need or want. I was close to the national parks which was a big plus seeing how that's what I wanted to spend most of my time doing. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax after spending a long day in the national parks, I would highly recommend this place!

Excellent

This spot was a perfect affordable stay for 2 nights! Not super far from Moab in a peaceful area! Not many options for groceries besides the gas station but stock up on the way and this place is perfect

A wonderful place to stay.

It was a great place to stay. It was well stocked and clean. The house was beautifully decorated. Next door was a small shop that had all kinds of memorabilia. Some of which brought back great memories. A unique shop. If looking for a quiet great place this is it. Then there is the scenery. Awesome. You could see the Book Cliffs from where we stayed. They offer tours to go and there with petroglyphs along the way! Highly recommended.
