Newly remodeled and fully furnished, this historic adobe house dates back to the early 1920s and has all the amenities for you to enjoy sunny New Mexico in a home away from home - and only a 5 minute walk from the historic Mesilla Plaza. Minutes away from New Mexico State University and highway access.

Whether your stay is for business or pleasure, experience lovely Mesilla in our homey hacienda, well equipped for guests of either endeavor. Located just off of Avenida de Mesilla, the Hacienda is tucked back in a quiet courtyard, with an enclosed, private yard. It is peaceful and inviting – the perfect space to relax, or set up shop.

It has a washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, refrigerated air, heating, large HDTV w/cable, Wi-Fi, and security system.

Walk Mesilla Plaza in minutes and enjoy one of Las Cruces’ historic gems. The area is a must-see destination for the out of town visitor, with shopping, art galleries, movies at the celebrated Fountain Theater, bars, and restaurants – including one of the country's top ranked Mexican restaurants, La Posta.

If you Love Mesilla, this is a golden spot to stay

Overall very lucky to have found this place. Beautiful on the outside and inside. Walking distance to local shops and food. Really can't ask for more if your entirety of your stay is checking out Mesilla. Prime location.Ergonomically the house has its quirks for sure. But nothing that took away from the stay and having a nice place to come back to relax and sleep.

Perfect Girls’ Weekend Casita!

Love love love this adorable casita in Old Town Mesilla! Easy walk to restaurants and shops in Old Town and easy access to all things Las Cruces! So peaceful and quiet! House is beautifully appointed, cozy and comfortable! Perfect for my childhood friend and I to hang out in the mornings w/our coffee and in the evening w/a glass of wine. Even tho “winter” we enjoyed the outside table and chairs! Will so rent again next time I’m in Las Cruces!!

well-equipped at a great location

It was a bit difficult to find in the dark but had good directions from manager. It is a charming well-furnished casita, perfect for one couple and a single. It was unusually cold in Las Cruces upon our arrival so took all night and most of the next day to warm up the rooms with the mini-splits units! But we were out a lot so no problem. Would stay there again as it is a great location for exploring old Mesilla and visiting our nearby friends.

Easter

Stayed for Easter and had an egg hunt in the courtyard. Easy walk to the double eagle resturant from this location. Host was very accomidating.

House was in a perfect location

I absolutely loved this house. It was in the perfect spot for us to be able to go everywhere we needed to be. The house was larger than expected. Easy check in and out, and very clean! I will definitely be looking into renting this house the next time I go to Old Mesilla.

Perfect stay in Mesilla!

Beautiful, clean property right in historic Mesilla. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The property is shady, quiet, and has all the amenities we wanted. Easy checkin and great communication with the owner. This will be our first choice next time we're in town. Thank you!

Renovated but

Overall the property was very clean and comfortable. Everything was in working order. The kitchen and bathroom were updated and very nice looking and there were plenty of fresh towels, plus laundry machines, dishwasher, etc. The bathroom was colder than the rest of the house but fortunately we found a space heater in the main bedroom closet. My main complaint was that the main bedroom had a large, long crack in the wall from ceiling to floor and continuing across the floor tiles that gave the impression that half the room was sinking away from the rest of the house. In fact the entire room sloped away from the door toward the far corner of the room to the point where the bed itself would roll in that direction over the course of the day (it was on wheels) and would need to be pushed back into position before bedtime. My husband assured me that the crack was not evidence of a sinkhole forming beneath the room, otherwise I would have had trouble sleeping. So if that sort of thing is a deal-breaker for you I would not recommend this property. Otherwise the stay was quite pleasant.

Great Getaway

We always wanted to spend some time in Mesilla and finally made it. Carla's property was perfect for our stay. We loved the location - could walk to anywhere in town and it was easy to drive into Las Cruces or out to hike from there. The unit had everything we needed, it was very clean, quiet & comfortable. I have back issues so the bed was comfortable but a little soft for me - manageable for a few days. We will definitely stay here or in Carla's Studio next time we head to the Las Cruces/ Mesilla area.

Adobe home

Nicely updated adobe home, with plenty historic charm. Place was very clean, roomy with a nice court yard out front. Enjoyed some of the pecans from tree out front too!

Cosy and close to everything

We love this little house. It was well furnished and very comfortable. The location is great and provides walking access to restaurants and shops as well as the neighborhood brewpub. Will definitely stay again.

I will know next time to ask about the firmness of the bed. The beds were not firm at all, which is something my husband requires. I will know to ask next time. Very disappointed that Direct TV was not working. I feel we should receive a small refund for this. Everything else was very comfortable.

Great location to stroll Historic Mesilla

The Hacienda Shay is delightful. It is a very clean, quiet and spacious home that is conveniently situated within walking distance to shops, galleries and restaurants. It's a quick drive to the Farmers and Art Market in downtown Las Cruces and is near to NM State University, the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum and Dripping Springs hiking trails. We would definitely like to stay again!

Lovely little spot, close to everything

I had a lovely time staying in this house. It was really well located for walking and enjoying the little historic district. It's also quirky, which I found charming - the floors in the bedroom slope (which means the bed does), as does the ceiling. The tub is nice and there's plenty of space. I DO wish there had been coffee for the coffee maker - there were filters but no coffee, so I had to go out for that - and I wish that there had been a first aid kit because I could have really used a band-aid when I tore off my thumbnail trying to get into the lockbox to get the keys. I didn't prefer not getting entry instructions until I was standing at the gate (wondering if they would even come), and I didn't prefer having to check emails to get entry information, but Carla switched to texting and that was great. I'll definitely be back!
