Sited on a coral escarpment overlooking the splendid palm-lined bay after which it is named, Bottom Bay House is unquestionably one of the finest rental properties on the southeast coast of Barbados. Its unique cliffside vantage gives complete privacy, and a high perimeter wall ensures absolute security. Yet Bottom Bay's perfect white coral sand beach is but a two minute stroll away.
Designed to take advantage of both the seascape vista and the ever present sea breeze, this handsomely-built coral stone and fine tropical wood villa has been furnished with a deft mix of antique and contemporary pieces. The result is both gracious and informal.
The living areas of Bottom Bay House include a formal dining room with seating for twelve, a large living room to accommodate a like number, modern kitchen and laundry, full pantry with wet bar, powder room, maids' rooms and bath. Beyond the shady tiled patio with its myriad of colorful tropical shrubbery lies a large swimming pool, enclosed for privacy and equipped with lights for night-time swims.
The bedroom wing of the main house is seperated from the living areas by a lushly-landscaped inner courtyard. The magnificent air-conditioned master suite, ideally situated with a grand view of the bay, features twin dressers, walk-in wardrobe, and bathroom ensuite with two sinks and bidet. In the main house there are also two guest bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and a study which can be used as a spare bedroom.
For those that require an additional bedroom - it is possible to rent Bottom Bay as a four bedroom, four bathroom home. This additional bedroom is separate to the house and reached by a garden path just a short distance from the main house. The studio sits on the cliff edge and overlooks Bottom Bay beach with a spectacular view of this famous bay. This bedroom has a queen murphy bed which may be lifted up to make the room more spacious when not in use. In addition it has a lovely large private bathroom as well.
Daily maid service is included and the experienced landscape staff ensure that the gardens are beautifully maintained at all times.

I was born in Barbados and feel extremely lucky that this is my home. It truly is a paradise and I would not choose to live anywhere else in the world. I have worked with this company for over 30 years and love welcoming visitors to our properties and to Barbados. Many of our guests are repeat guests and are like family to us.
Why they chose this property
I love the fact this is the on what we call the "secret side" of Barbados. We are on the windward side of the island which means we have a lovely breeze most of the time. It is not as populated as the very popular west coast but as the island is only 21 miles by 14 miles, no where is far.
What makes this property unique
Bottom Bay House overlooks Bottom Bay beach which is one of the most photographed beaches on the island. It is beautiful, with waves rolling in onto the white sandy beach and has an untouched feeling about it.
The house itself has panoramic views of the ocean and beach. It is extremely private with a perimeter wall and electric gate. However the front of the house, overlooking the beach and ocean is not fenced. You enter the house to an open courtyard with a grassed area and coy pond. This courtyard is open to the view and cliff front on the opposite side to which you enter. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on one side of the courtyard and the living room, dining room, powder room. kitchen and laundry on the other.
The kitchen, living room and dining room open out onto patios that are adjacent to the large swimming pool. The gazebo at the end of the pool overlooks Bottom Bay beach.
Lovely gardens surround the house and the housekeeper is delightful and attentive. A cook can be made available if required - for an additional cost.
