Osbourne Quarters is the home to our private bungalow and is located in the heart of the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley, Southampton. The park contains 200 acres of mature woodland and grassy parkland acting as a garden to the bungalow.

The Royal Victoria Country Park is a 25 minute drive from Southampton airport and 7 minutes drive from Junction 8 on the M27. It is also within walking distance of Hamble Village which hosts a number of traditional pubs, shops and cafe’s. If sailing takes your fancy, there are several sailing clubs in the area making it a perfect location to enjoy the festivities of Cowes week. Beautiful stay

Well kept property. As listed. Lovely little garden. Had everything we needed. Country park and Southampton water onnthe doorstep. Fabulous breakfast at Ketch in Hamble Marina, great little skatepark for the kid on the walk home. Chapel and country park grounds are beautiful and the rail trail and coastal walks were brilliant. Flew a kite, played games on the fields and paddled. The house is spot on- blinds in kitchen and on french window would be good as it did feel a wee bit exposed in the evening with the lights on, but the area is super quiet and peaceful. Welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the host, James, was quick to communicate. Weather was gorgeous all week and we ate every meal outside- glorious. Will be back.

Solent Retreat

My wife and I spent 27 nights and absolutely loved the property, as well as it's location with easy walking access to Royal Victoria Country Park and the Solent. On our arrival the hosts had left a welcome hamper with lots of goodies which was really considerate and very much appreciated. The property was spotless and welcoming. We like our privacy and would have preferred curtains/blinds for the kitchen and dining area as the windows are directly opposite other properties. We highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to rebook in the future.

Fantastic property - a few tips before you go!

We absolutely loved this property overall, as well as it's location and friendly neighbours - I could definitely live there! Really great for walking, ease of access into Southampton by bus/train and ideal for watching all the activity on the water just 10 minutes' walk away. The host left a fabulous welcome hamper, and was very quick to respond to queries. I think it would be worth knowing that although the property sleeps 4 (2 doubles), in the lounge area the sofa & armchair cater for 3 only - bring a spare camping chair! The second bedroom doesn't yet have a wardrobe or chest of drawers - so bring an overdoor hook and hangers unless you like the creased look! Likewise the bathroom is without hooks, so another overdoor hanger would save having to use the floor. There are no curtains/blinds for the kitchen or dining area - so with the windows being directly opposite other properties if you like privacy, be prepared! There were plenty of kitchen utensils, all in good condition and clean which makes a nice change from some other properties, the shower was excellent and the beds are very comfortable! I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely home away from home

We loved our stay at the bungalow. Was extremely clean and comfortable, had everything we needed - including a wonderful welcome hamper with some goodies for us all. Location was beautiful, the historic park was nearby and was was easily accessible for day trips. We only wish we could have stayed longer to appreciate the place itself more, but were very happy with our time there. Thanks so much.

Sparklingly clean!

Very well appointed apartment. Lots of personal touches like a welcome hamper. Plenty of dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls etc too. Local area was pleasant. A bit of sunshine would have made it even nicer!

Lovely property

Had a lovely 2-week stay at this house. The location was perfect with quick walk to the playground and pebble beach. The house is lovely - really clean and beautifully furnished and well equipped. Small criticism that bedroom 2 doesn’t have enough storage room especially for a 2-week stay. Otherwise perfect.

Simply perfect

We stayed here in July 2021 the property was in amazing condition equipped with all the little things we needed to make it a home from home for a week. The little garden was perfect for our children 8 & 2 to potter about in and kick a ball. The position is just amazing surrounded by beautiful calm woodland and a stones throw from the country park and the sea. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and would love to go again next year!

Why they chose this property

Hannah and I fell in love with this property over ten years ago while it was being used as a police training venue. The listed status of the park and property, means the building has been kept to near perfection.

The area has something for everyone. A beach that delivers dramatic sunsets, barbecue sites for family gatherings, a large children's play area, cafes, bars, restaurants, traditional English pubs and several shopping locations within 15 minutes drive.

When we found out that the properties were being converted into two bedroom bungalows, we knew we just had to purchase one so we can share it with the world.

Now we finally have one, we are open for business!

What makes this property unique

The history of the building dates back to 1863 when it was an extension to the Royal Military Hospital which famously housed Florence Nightingale. There are still features of the hospital around the site with the focal point being the military chapel which has been turned into a modern museum and a cafe. Perfect for a hot coffee and a slice of cake!

For guests with a more adventurous side, this location is perfect for Kayaking, cycling, running, walking, sailing, kicking a ball with the kids, or hosting barbecues in the parks designated sites.
