The cabin was nice and the location was good. Not a lot of pots and pans to do cooking. The hut tub was nice as well but the top did not fit properly and was very heavy to open and close. Overall it was a good experience.
The only things I’d be critical of are-comfort of living room furniture and ease of access to hot tub. But that is a bit of nitpicking. Overall it was nice and the location was good for us.
Stayed the weekend with 3 other adult family members just to visit each other for a quiet weekend. This was perfect. It was quiet and relaxing in the beautiful mountains of VA. We found things to do like walk thru Luray and shop, went for a wine tasting, and has a fantastic breakfast buffet at Circa '31. Home had everything we needed and the hot tub was a nice bonus.

Wouldn’t stay again
The house is okay overall but there were several issues. There is a massive wasp nest under the house and owners simply said to keep doors closed. They provide 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll paper towel, and only 1 bathroom had hand soap. House water turned brown on our last 2 days. Beds and couches are uncomfortable and there are no extra linens. Upstairs faucet handles come off. Hot tub is limited to 100. Essentially, it is an investment property with minimal consideration for guests. We stayed at 6 different rentals on our roadtrip and this was definitely the worst.
We enjoyed our stay at “Shuck.” Everything was as advertised. River was perfect for wading, floating, and fishing. Kitchen was fairly well stocked. Our biggest disappointment was the hot tub. It had an extremely high level of chemicals in that we were unable to use it due to the strong fumes. We even tried removing the cover for an hour or so before we were going to get in but that didn’t help, either. That being said, we would still recommend this rental and will likely rent again.
The house was as described, and a good size. It was great to have access to the river and a sizable yard. The location was quiet but not too far from Luray caverns and skyline drive. The kids enjoyed playing in the river and finding crayfish. There was not any charcoal for the grill so we had to go out and buy that, perhaps that could be added to the description (byoc).
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean and well kept with great views, a hot tub, fire pit, and much more. We even caught a few fish!
Home was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Home just as described. Very clean and comfortable. River was just a few steps away from property. Would love to come back!
Got away alone. Was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Mostly great things to say about it. Only negatives would be the upstairs bedroom loft mattress is VERY hard so I slept downstairs which was awesome. Some dead bugs in the rooms but you're in the country so was expected. Would definitely stay again. Appreciate your hospitality!!!
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property! The river, the hot tub and climbing every tree possible was a huge hit with the kids! The house was clean with a well stocked kitchen. I would highly recommend this quiet retreat!
Location was great !! Beautiful surroundings.
Cabin needs updating. Hot tub did not work.
Night lite in loft doesn’t work and toilet seat in loft needs replacing.
Wonderful location and wonderful home! The family enjoyed hiking, fishing, hot tub, fire pit and much more. Close to Luray Caverns. Close to grocery stores/restaurants but secluded enough for quiet family time. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your lovely house. It was the perfect setting for my family. All the amenities we’re very much appreciated. We especially enjoyed being a walk away from the river. Would love to stay here again in the fall
Very very nice although the Internet was really bad, so no TV the view was awesome! Really enjoyed watch the Dears come out of the woods and eat all the fawns was so adorable. Thank you so much! Next year we are talking about renting the Jive that should tell you how much we really enjoyed our Time Out! What a great way to relax would definitely recommend this house!
Property was nice, and clean. Was perfect for our stay, as we kayak fished and were able to put in and pull out from 2 seperate float trips at the house.
