Small but all we needed

A cute little house divided into 2 apartments. Set in a lovely landscape of mature trees and shrubbery alongside a sweet creek. My dog loved wading in the creek. Had it been a little warmer, I would have joined him. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was just a little tight for 2 adults not used to living together. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay. We were mostly out exploring every day and just slept, showered, and ate breakfast there.

Cozy and a creek right there

This cozy little unit had everything we needed. Everything was cute and comfy. Not a big space, but plenty big for two of us and our dog. Dog loved running in the yard and even jumped in the the creek. The gas grill was great. We had a wonderful dinner and then did a fire in the fire pit by the creek. It was great.

So much peace

I was so impressed with the peacefulness and beauty of this place. The owner was very courteous and easy to talk to. She understood my need for solitude. I look forward to returning. Also all I needed to take was personal items, and food, clothes. The cottage was well stocked for everyday essentials. Thank you Ms. Patsy, you are a pleasure, in a difficult world.

Suited us perfectly!

We throughly enjoyed our stay while visiting the Mt. Mitchell area! The quiet setting allowed us to enjoy a fire by the creek. The little apartment was well stocked and and the description explained it to our satisfaction. The host answered any questions that we had and responded in a timely manner. It was perfect as a base camp for short hikes as well as our backpacking trip to Mt. Mitchell.

Quiet, restful little cottage by the creek.

We have one complaint, one night is not enough time, we spent the evening roasting cheddar brats over the firepit by the babbling creek, listening to horses in the surrounding fields, and wildlife in the trees. The little cottage had everything we needed, and we plan to go back when we can spend more time. Patsy and Becky are very sweet, answered all our questions and we recommend them highly!!!

Great place to stay, peaceful yet close to town

This was a great rental for the weekend!! It is very peaceful sitting right on a creek and distanced from the road. Centrally located to many outdoor activities and towns. Amenities had everything we needed, coffee, towels, soaps. There is a nice fire pit down by the creek too. I would recommend staying here!

In the country

This would be a nice place to stay in good weather as it has a lot of space outside with seating and a fire pit. It sits on a stream. It's fairly close to the shopping in Spruce Pine.

Nice Place to Escape to the Mountains

My son and I enjoyed our long weekend stay. This property has all the essentials for an out-of-the-way/rural-feel stay that was near all the activities/locations we wanted to visit in the Spruce Pine area. The unit was well equipped with essentials too. The area is peaceful, the scenery was beautiful with a charming stream behind the property. For 1-2 people this is a perfect place. It can accommodate up to 4 as described, though some may feel it start to feel small with a full family crew, but there's a lot to do around, rest and relax on the property to accomodate everyone. I would stay here again when revisiting the area.

Looking for a no frills, quiet place, this is it.

Perfect for someone looking for a place for one or two people traveling with a pet. If you are looking for a basic, no frills place, this is perfect. Going to sleep listening to the water running in the stream right outside your window was so relaxing. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Less then expected

Our directions to property were to another place they owned. We found owner who confirmed our instructions were to the wrong “cabin”. Went to our place which was to have door unlocked and key on table. We couldn’t get the door opened. Found owner, again, who went to property to open door. She had a terrible time opening theUNLOCKED door. She told us the door has been a problem for awhile..... When the door was opened, the key was on table. Owner said if we get cold the thermostats was there but it will be set for one temp but it will blast you out with a really high heat so be careful”. The kitchen was well stocked. The place was shabby but clean. We settled down by the beautiful stream in chairs to enjoy a beer. The best part of the one night visit. When we were inside to view tv that evening we couldn’t get any volume. Text daughter of owner. She gave a brief instruction, which we’d already tried. Offered to come down snd see... we said don’t bother. We had to keep a piece of cardboard in the door to prevent us from being locked in during the night, fire escape hazard. Placed a chair to secure the door from intruders during the night. There needs to be a handy man to fix the little things that make a big difference. $ WAY too much for this stay.

Peace & Quiet & Trout!!

Wonderful experience--beautiful property---great hiking/riding trails!! Sleeping with the widows open to enjoy the cool evenings and the wonderful sound of the stream was over the top!! The stream does have trout and, numerous other varieties of fish---even a novice fly-fisherman like myself managed at least a couple of dozen in a couple of days. They are still swimming with the exception of one deep hooked 8" Rainbow---but he was delicious! Thanks for a very relaxing & tasty stay!!

Cute cottage!

The cottage was small but clean. The property was lovely and quiet. It suited our needs as we only stayed one night. Not fancy but certainly worth the money.

Nice Stay but needs upkeep

On a positive note, it did have a small stream, land, front porch with rockers, small fire pit ( no wood) and was private. On a negative note, it was an adjoined cottage and we thought we were getting our own. No views. There were no pastures of horse as depicted online. It was very small, had a bad smell and could have used a better cleaning. There were cob webs everywhere and it just didn't feel clean. We like rustic but rustic can be clean. The beds were like sleeping on marshmallows but some people like that. Just not our preference. The second bed was in the kitchen/living room combination so there's no place to just sit and watch TV or chat (no couch). But.......it was priced right for what we got. Unfortunately, I do not think we will ever be back to that cottage. Might be worth paying just a little more to get what we need, and a place that is clean.
