Exceptional view, style and comfort--The Salty Suite
The view of downtown Juneau; the quiet of the surrounding forest / mountainside; and the clean and modern comforts will make this home one you won't want to leave. We have sourced furnishings from as far as Turkey, and as close as our parent's house! The house is a new(ish) build, finished in 2015. Rent it out with the adjacent side (Sourdough Suite VRBO #699575) and you can accommodate twelve. We do reserve the house for stays of 5 nights or longer when booking further out than 30 days and 7 nights or longer when booking 60 days or more in advance. Exceptions are made so feel free to ask. Likely reasons we would give an exception: If the stay fit well with an existing adjacent stay on the calendar (no long gaps in between); If the dates are in the shoulder seasons (not June - August); If you were wanting both sides for a longish stay... Each side has the living area on the second floor along with a master bedroom. The upstairs bathroom has (2) doors, one directly to the master and one to the living space. The first floor has the second two bedrooms, another full bathroom and a laundry room, plus a large entry for dumping all your gear. One parking space at the top of the driveway is provided and there are 3-4 steps up to the first floor from the car door.

It was wonderful...beautiful breakfast view towards the mountains and the host was very nice, responded quickly, everything was available and house was very organized. She even had the house warmed for us when we arrived overall awesome stay
We spent a wonderful week here with 2 couples and 2 friends. The view out the front was fantastic. The location was convenient to everything. The beds were comfy. We had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!
Well maintained and outfitted townhome with open living spaces, comfortable beds, spacious baths and, of course, that view! Located 5 minutes from downtown Juneau. We enjoyed it very much.
The property worked out great for our family of 5. The beds were comfortable and the owners had enough of all the essentials for our entire stay. We were close to town, but in a quiet neighborhood with a fantastic view of the city. My only recommendation would be to add a television in a bedroom.
We really loved our stay here. The house was as advertised, and the hosts were very communicative. Nice kitchen set up allowed us to cook at home a lot, and wonderful view of downtown Juneau from the living/dining room.
Secluded spot, spacious accommodations, beautiful views and great communication response from the host! I highly recommend! It is a very convenient location to Juneau and quick access to area sights.
The host was quick to answer, gave clear and easy instructions and had info available and suggestions for things to do. The property was newer, very nice, bright, clean, comfortable, and had absolutely amazing views everyday, rain or shine. It was a quick and easy drive, walkable as well, to all the shops, restaurants etc. but peaceful and quiet at the home. We highly recommend this property! Everyone in our group was happy
This house has spectacular views of downtown Juneau and the surrounding mountains. Everything was very clean and all the beds were comfortable. Some of our group hiked the trails above the house and you could walk to downtown Juneau ( maybe 1 1/2 miles). I would recommend you have a car at this location because of the climb back up the hill. The bus also runs every 30 min. along 3 rd street.
Clean up to date property. Check in was easy beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. The only other was a poor internet signal downstairs, upstairs was good. Would definitely stay again
Really nice place with amazing view of downtown and mountains. Check-in was a breeze and place was very clean and well-appointed. The driveway was a little tricky to navigate with our minivan. Would stay here again.
We loved our stay here in Juneau. The condo is spotless and has a great location. Easy to get into town as well as other nearby attractions - kids loved Sandy Beach!
The view is amazing. Wonderful place to relax.
One of the nicest rentals we’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommend this rental. The owners were great to work with as well. The view in the living area is just gorgeous. We would definitely stay there again!
We are 5 women that all graduated from Juneau Douglas High School. a few years ago.
Loved it. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. With 5 women we could have used 1 more make-up mirror and a corkscrew for wine 🤣🤣🤣Other then that it fully met our needs.
We had a wonderful stay with an awesome location. The
unparalleled views and quiet neighborhood atmosphere made the trip such a memory. Will stay here again with our next rendezvous to Juneau. After living in Juneau for years, it's great to have a place to return to! Thanks for everything!
Perfect space for home away from home. Location was great for sightseeing, and the view was spectacular.

Excellent place, location and view
We been to Juneau several times but the first effort to seek a VRBO facility. We were “winners" in selecting the facility. Awesome location and a wonderful view of the bay. Highly recommended! Exceptional facility that is well maintained and outfitted with all the items any group would need. The host takes care of the facility so our needs were met. Just can't say enough on how wonderful the facility, location and view are for anyone seeking a place to stay in Juneau. We hope to be making this our "place" to stay during our next trip up to Juneau in May of 2019. My brother and sister-in-law have lived in Juneau for over 30 years and they recommended the facility after looking at several locations. The place was their number 1 recommendation, and all the family that came to visit agree, it is the number 1 place to stay. Just can't say enough how great this place was for us and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a location to stay in Juneau.

The view from the main living space is worth everything
We decided to spend a little more then we planned to have an amazing view and it was worth it! The front room with the kitchen, dining room and living room is where we spent 95% of our time while awake in the house. The views were ever changing and always lovely - the City of Juneau and looming mountains were very appealing.
We used the two king bedrooms and found them both to be very comfortable! The kitchen was decently outfitted - nothing special, but all the basics were there. The bathrooms only had towels and toilet paper provided so bring your own toiletries, hair dryer and hand soap!
When there were people staying in the adjoining space, we were pleased that we couldn't hear them in general, but surprised we could clearly hear the thumps of them using the stairs. Must be how they are built into the building. Not a big deal - except early in the morning and late at night.
Overall, we were very pleased with the space. We would definitely stay here again in future trips!

A wonderful place to stay
This was an excellent experience, from the very clear information provided by Annabelle and Eli to their flexibility in allowing us to check in early. The house is comfortable, spotless, filled with things anyone would need - from laundry soap to tissues - and a very easy ride into town. Not to mention the spectacular view from the living space and the walkable neighborhood. We ended up hiking a beautiful trail on our first day that we picked up just a street away from the house. Simply a terrific home and one we'd certainly return to in the future.

Excellent Townhome with Beautiful View
We enjoyed our 5-day stay at this property - it is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood away from any traffic, the view is beautiful overlooking the channel and Juneau, rooms were clean and ready. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need including outside grill and related utensils. The Wi-Fi is present but Internet connection a bit slow, but usable. TV does not have many channels (5 or 6) but I guess no one would spend much time watching TV while in Juneau. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Juneau.

About the host

My Siblings and I grew up in Juneau. We have been in the Juneau hospitality business Since 1980 (our parents owned an awesome restaurant) We have moved to various parts of the Northwest now, but still have a great love for Juneau. It shall always be our home, to some degree anyways.
Why they chose this property
We found this land for sale several years ago, and decided to develop this 2 unit townhome as part of an effort to bring quality long and short-term housing to Juneau. We have succeeded! Come see for yourself!
What makes this property unique
The Sourdough Suite is ideally located. Town is a 1.5 mile from your door; but the din of city life is negligible. There is an amazing trail (Dan Moller) that begins just above our House, and takes you to the Bog and Alpine areas of Douglas Island. You can combine this hike with almost every other hike located upon Douglas Island. My family learned to ski at Eaglecrest Ski Area. It is the Little Ski Area that could. Snow dependent, of course. The beaches around Juneau are so impressive. They are expansive. Protected. Scenic. Quiet. Beautiful. Not to be compared with the beaches of Miami or California, mind you. Rubber boots prevail over bikini tops.
