About this property

L'Etable - Cottage that overlooks miles of woodland

THE PROPERTY

L'Etable comprises of 1 bedroom on the mezzanine and the sitting room that looks out over the swimming pool to the expansive countryside. The house is perfect for a couple but can accommodate one more person on a clic-clac in the living room.

The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including an induction stove, combination microwave / oven, large fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table comfortably seats 4 as does the living space. The bathroom offers a modern shower. The upstairs bedroom is accessed via a modern spiral staircase. The private terrace is decked out with lounges and is only meters from the pool.

For the colder seasons, L'Etable has a wood burner, central heating and a heated towel rail in the shower room, making it a cosy retreat for the snowy or autumn periods.
Please note, guests need to buy their own firewood. It will not be provided.

L'Etable shares a large 15 metre pool with one other Gite. Please note the pool is open from 1st June - 30th September and is an ambient temperature. The pool may be heated on request however this will incur an additional daily charge for which the guests will be responsible.

Guests can sit on the terrace overlooking the pool, lay by the pool and also have access to lawns, table tennis and play ground that are shared with 3 other gites on the large property.

LOCATION
L'Etable is in the quiet village of Puyjourdes. Visiting the charming Market towns of Cajarc and Limogne both of which are 10 kilometers away and have markets on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Other towns to visit include Villeneuve-du-Rouergue, St.-Cirq-Lapopie and Figeac where Champollion of Rosetta Stone fame was born.

To work off the good food and take a break from the pool there are plenty of Road and Mountain Bike riding paths around the village and in the wider LOT region. Our favourite is the bike and walking track to Carjac. Horse riding, walking, kayaking, swimming, water skiing, caving, climbing, parapenting are all within a easy drive or bike ride. A favourite of the kids (from 7 to 70 !!) is the rope course with various levels of difficulty finishing with a flying fox over the lake. All of these are within 15 kilometres.

Fantastic holiday

One of the best places we have rented for our summer vacation. Quiet and peaceful and fantastic surroundings The cottage was tastefully renovated and were fully equipped with dishwasher and a modern bathroom. Robert and Mariëtte who were taking care of us and the cottage were very nice and helpful. The big swimmingpool were awesome. Also Hamish John Reid who we rented the cottage from were very helpful. We recommend to rent this place. // Niklas and Monica

Spacious property in a dreamlike location

The property offers enough space for a family, with the possibility to get together or have time to themselves. The area is quiet and lets you relax quickly and well. Nevertheless, shopping and leisure facilities are within easy reach. We had a great time and can only recommend the stay.

A seemingly timeless part of South France, Puyjourdes. Exceptionally beautiful, in history.

It's not difficult to relax here at the Reid's part of the world. Miles of beautiful scenery every which way. You definitely need a car, or a sturdy bike!! Villages every few kilometres, just head out of the village and it's not far to anywhere. Experience a natural rural South France. Facilities are modern and kitchens well equipped with everything you need for at least a week. A good washing machine is a plus when you're on the road for some weeks. And to cook good food is a pleasant change.

Idyllic

Our Stay was perfect, The villa was just what we needed and the surrounds and views were truly beautiful. We were able to see the wonderful views from the living area, total relaxation which is what we were hoping for and we certainly got it. The dips in the lovely pool cooled us off to do a bit more relaxing in the sun. The village was so friendly and we became regulars in the bar in the nearby town! Certainly a place we will never forget. Thank you Emma. Elaine & Freddie, Hull.

Dream vacation in a picture-perfect setting

This is one of most beautiful and serene places we have ever vacationed, it is almost hard to believe that such places exist in real life and not only in pretty calendars or coffee table books. Everything was perfect - the L'Etabl cottage, the surroundings, the hosts. The L'Etabl cottage is beautifully restored with all modern amenities and yet retaining its original character and charm. The owners have done an amazing job rebuilding it to make it comfortable, aesthetically stunning and very well maintained. It was just magical having breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the pool and the vast green fields. Combined with the natural beauty of the area, this makes it a perfect vacation spot where you truly forget that there is a busy world out there. Puyjourdes village itself is sweet, quiet, colorful and full of character. The central street is lined with centuries old houses, there are flowers on all window sills and porches. The village has no stores but the produce van drives through every day delivering fresh bread and all the staples, it rolls through the village honking and people, just like in movies, come out of their homes to buy bread and chat with the driver. If you like to hike or take walks, there are dozens of paths all around, and because it is Europe, there are a lot of public byways and trails, we walked for hours and hours and did not see a single "Keep out" or "No Trespassing" sign that you see on every step in the US. Local people are very friendly and welcoming and although I do not speak French, I had several "conversations" that consisted of lots of mimicking and hand gesturing. Outside Puyjordes close by there are many beautiful historic towns with well-preserved castles, cobble stone streets and the famous blue shutters. There are excellent farmers markets near by and plenty of restaurants for all tastes and budgets. A fantastic place all around! We highly recommend it and hope to return there at some point. We traveled from the West coast of the USA.
