Boasting biomass central heating and solar panel electricity the annexe has been thoughtfully renovated with multiple up cycle projects to ensure a comfortable stay with minimal environmental impact. Outside there is a private garden with small patio, seating area and an outdoor wood burner a lovely addition while enjoying the evening sunset.
Perfectly located to explore the many attractions in and around the area, including Hall Hill Farm is a must for children with donkey rides, outdoor play, crazy golf and of course feeding the animals. Beamish is a world famous open area museum, telling the story of life in the North East from the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s and 50s and will be sure to entertain the whole family. For guests wanting to enjoy the outdoors from The Old House Annexe, there are numerous established public footpaths, walks and cycle paths that lead from the area and out into the beautiful scenery of County Durham. And of course the cathedral city of Durham, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is just a 15-minutes drive away and offers plenty of attractions to enjoy at all times of year including the bi-annual Lumiere Durham Lights Festival, jazz festival, poetry festival and book week.
